Many scholars have been accused of this throughout time. If you really think about it... So glad this guy was caught. The parents and community members of these victims are equally responsible. The practice of educating kids on what to do if someone touches you inappropriately or says something inappropriate to you is practically non existent. A lot of times kids are left alone with Quran teachers who end up taking advantage of that and sexually abusing them. You know, I've met this man. Now, do I know if this stuff is true or not... no, I do not. This man has literally built a community over the Mosque he founded. He is a very kind and funny man. He is one of the most (in my opinion) amazing, credible, and well-spoken scholars living. He isn't just an imam, he is a good hearted man. He has taught so many young people to follow the prophet Muhammad (SAW) and to believe in Allah (SWT). I have sat next to him and listen to him speak with community members and many people and you can just sit there in awe of his wisdom. He came from India and was taught at Darul Uloom in Deoband, India. I know many people will just go right along with the accusers and do even consider evidence and just go with the flow. I don't know how some man in his 70s (Now 83-84) who requires a cane pretty much 24/7 and needs assistance to walk up and down the stairs would assault teenage girls and young boys. This man that I know and met is not that type of person. Now, if he did do it (which I am not saying he did) then it is with him and Allah (SWT) and it is up to Allah (SWT) to do whatever. But, from my experiences with Maulana Saleem he is a very nice and kind hearted man who stands for Islam and its believers. I don't know why in today's society we just go along with something we heard and don't consider actually footage or backed up evidence to things. All of a sudden a women feels the need to sue someone and expects others to go along with her and those people don't even know this man or have even met or seen him. His children are very respectable people as well and his grandchildren whom I know and have talked to. His family is full of amazing people. I hope people really don't just see this and think it's automatically true. His wife passed away not so long ago and from what I heard she was a very pleasant women. This man isn't some creep and doesn't abuse children. This school of his has very strict principles on mixing with women and interacting with them. I even wonder how those women even got near him since most of the employees and in fact probably all of the female employees stay on a different campus part of IIE that is strictly for women. This school has taught proper ways of interaction between male and females. That's all I can say.
