I purchased this about a week ago, and have installed it on 2 pixel 7 pros, I love it because the screen protector doesn't hit the cases that I have tried, the face unlock works perfectly for what it's worth and the fingerprint is also fine with no issues, glad you put this out
Hey, can you tell me how is the screen protector? should i buy? Also, the protector has no cut out for the camera, does it affect the quality of camera?
I just did the install on my P7P and I felt like I was doing surgery on my phone. 😂Overall VERY VERY impressed with the end result - it's like there's no screen protector on there at all. Which I'd hope would be the case considering it was $40... The process was a little tedious and stressful, but I actually kind of enjoyed it. Regardless, I really hope I don't have to do it again. 😅 Edit: also, ngl, the USB-C cable they provide you for the UV light is lowkey kind of nice and it's long. You'd have to pay like 10 bucks for the cable alone on Amazon! I might actually use it for other things. 😂
Performing surgery is exactly how it felt! I was sweating like crazy and super stressed. The first glass having the film (not peeling away) issue totally annoyed me since the glue was already poured out. And the big bubble on the second glass attempt almost made me feel totally defeated. But in the end it worked out. Definitely a good looking protector and am glad I got this one.
I was actually looking for a kit like this that did have the cutout, but that's just what I'm use to. Turns out I'm not seeing any noticeable difference and continuous glass looks so much cleaner for sure.
@@TofuRobots I think you cant really have a cutout, because the loca glue has to travel to all edges and maybe it would have a hard time going around a cutout + dealing with the residue.
I think where the lowness comes from is the step where they say to wipe the residue off, before you hit it with the UV rays. It moves incredibly easy there, I would omit this step
I bet you're right. I read a review on Amazon that said to align it before the UV rays. It didn't even occur to me it was still technically floating before the UV light solidified the glue stuff. Next time I'll get it perfect!
Thanks for these very competent and in-depth reviews. I bought a well-reviewed different brand (Arshek - AVOID) which was total trash and had to return it, as it had a sticker over where the fingerprint sensor was that made it unusable because it was such an obvious obstruction of the display. The rest of the sticky part was a black bezel that went all the way around the edges of the phone, being unsightly and also obstructing the screen. Trash product. This looks like the protector I'm looking for. Thanks again.
Thanks for the complement, I appreciate it! I was in a similar boat as you looking for a screen protector for my P7P. What was frustrating was on Amazon you really didn't know what you were actually getting. I knew I wanted to avoid any strange fingerprint hole/tape/marking on the screen. I also wanted to avoid the sticky black bezel ones or flat protectors. I also wanted real glass, not plastic or hybrid. I was really hesitant to spend so much on this kit but it helped when it was slightly on sale during Prime Day II. Overall I'm completely satisfied with this kit.
just posted another reply but was using my work gmail account. Long story short, went perfectly well, with your tip about alignment helping a lot. I missed the first cure where you're supposed to keep the weight on the fingerprint sticker but it went fine without doing that, and was perfectly aligned. Fit well even with the ugly black camera-protector on there (I got the hazel/champagne gold as well), but besides being ugly at least it's well protected, nice of them to give us 3x sets! Maybe a bit more costly than cheap plastic protectors and no-name brands that don't fit properly... but imo well worth the money to have 3x barely-noticeable protectors with a nice snug fit for my slim spigen clear bumper-case and went remarkably well without any issues! Thanks again. This gets my recommendation as well. No issues with needing to re-fingerprint or use protector-mode either. Nice.
Great informative and detailed review. Any thoughts on removal of the screen protector in the future? How will the cured glue affect the phone when trying to do like a trade-in upgrade through Google? I'm still waiting for my phone and trade-in kit and only know they require you to do a factory reset prior to returning. Unsure about what they say about screen protectors.
I haven't seen a glass version that doesn't include the full kit. Maybe reach out to IMBZBK directly and see if they offer something. Otherwise looks like the full kit is going for $24.99 as of today.
I just tested and face unlock works fine. Also **Once I figured out "face retouching" was enabled by default**, and turned it OFF, the Selfie camera pics look clean and sharp.
Yes, the kit came with 3. I didn't install it because I'd rather have a clear cover instead of black, but it wouldn't fit in my phone case anyways as there is no room.
I actually did install it - it's just a sticky backing so you have to kind of line it up and stick it on. It appears to work great aside from making it more fingerprint prone, and it fit with my slim spigen clear case just fine. It's just kind of ugly and I wish it had been clear instead of black.
