Imelda's husband Darrel Higham can sure play a mean guitar. Her band is one of the best bands out there today. Brilliant!

Ah it just shows the reach and flexibility of the blues as the basis for so much American style music from the early 20th century onward. The Blues will just about become whatever you need it to be, and I think the entire band does a fine job. Plus that tight dress doesn't hurt either...

Thought I saw Imelda at one of our 17 local nude beaches, yet nah, it was only Meg Myers, or maybe I could say it's just my imagination, hmm, if I had one... hmm, that phrase sounds famliar. I lived once, not today, yet once upon an eternity, once upon a destiny, I lived above the tree lines where the frozen apex of the high young volcano still keeps an active eye. Eye see. Icy... hah! Oh yes, the point, I was with a former blues brand name now more generic than esoteric and I realized, all my alibis were just reasons to make up more excuses. Hmmm. Anyhow, I lost my gravity, fell awkward up the torn blue jeans cloud castle, cut my skin open on a jagged sky, gave myself an alibi and tear that castle down! Yes we were cooking the grain, to a pure blue flame, I was set as the "blocker" -the one who races past the police so as to start a big bada fracus chase... while the "runner" trucks slowly pace the loads on by. I never been caught up to, 'cept once, in a '69 Cutlass, chopped and amped up in the junkyard, when the battery strap snapped broken, as I made a wicked two wheel turn into the Jackson dirt roads, over to the swamp, where nobody goes, where we party 'til we can't count our toes and the cool wind blows, the Spanish moss is swaying and she and I we had just done a run so we were all epi and adrenaline charged... fuel injection by natural disorders, my only way to map this life out, in the order of chaos, I like to find the lost, bring in the strays, ride the fringes and oh man we really do party, we dance down, lento amore, into the muddy ground, frog lickers, uh-frog liquors and plenty of head chi, uh-head cheese, most just do what they are told, and we just do as we please. If I am ever on my knees, there is a woman or more, I just have to please, so judge me not, judge me nil, say I am a heathen, say I am a criminal. S'ok , if'n y'all knew me, you'd also know these tags are only labels. We are WE THE PEOPLE and we can't be bound by branding, chains, cages and all sorts of weapons of her funky dues, strange brew and this whole planet is only a Tralfamadorian zoo. (Uh, sorry Kurt, is just too true...) so yes, and yes again, we be rollin' and tumblin' ! From Muddy Waters to the Mississippi Allstars, blues and rock and now Haley does a jazzy jam as well... we love it all. Imelda has a certain sensuality, pales in comparison to the raw, primal, surreal sexuality in her delivery... and hot damn she is so fine, as with Haley... plays it real with her man and they sound great, fit so ideal, I get off on the feel of it. I gotta go now, or I am already gone, back to the front, and I tried to tell her, it ain't pretzel logic if'n it drips from a long, salty stick; nope! Slept in a hollow log, ate a multi colored frog, got myself baptized in dirty water, and the congregation all sang this song as well! Been hunting gator, python, croc and anaconda, so long just have to have a major release of tension! I was attacked by a king cobra, and I cut off its head, I was attacked by a very very large anaconda, and it was their god, well, do the do, in these swamps I rule, I cut off its head, big enough to make luggage out of. When these particular creatures go to eat you, they all will get a hold, either snapping jaws to clutch, or constrictor muscles and teeth so razor sharp, all made to tenderize the meal- us. Now, none of that moves me much, save that it all has rollin' and tumblin' in its wake; what almost killed me, not even the slow bullet (thus my nickname...) that only grazed me, was an SB-.38, supposed to poison slowly so as to demoralize any who may be trying to help you, and a lot like some bigger lizards, I think the kimodo dragons, they bite, infect, follow 'til the prey is fallen and only then are we prepped for eatin', a meal fit for aa dragon! Yet always for a meal, a territory to hunt or spawn in, not at all like us, best we can do, is rollin' and tumblin' else we have deadly agendas, come back to haunt us. I wonder if Imelda has a twin sister, a look alike cousin, hmmm, something about her reminds me of Eden, the d'jin (genie in the lamp) and I get to wonder so I go to wander; forget which direction I started from and then I find i am actually here! Writing! Cat dancing on my keys.... I called up one of the wild ones, she said soon as the sun stops spinning shadows, she would be ready to kidnap me. ..And now, I do not know just where I am, or which life I am in. I only know, the juice is worth the squeeze! There is a payment in pain to please the wild ones, yet no matter the grimace or the grin, no matter how long or far, been wanderin', we go rollin' and tumblin'! Avanti lento amore. Tentatio mortis honore, commoda feralis et confice. Tempis fugit. Monde de folie, ...me voila. In the city we have a saying. Only there are no words... hah! Lust and love are not always mutually exclusive! Tango lento... que cien todos volando. That is why I wear a full brim hat! I'm a 59 year old Irishman and only became aware of her fromy my 29 year old daughter playing her. She's the greatest female rock voice I've heard. Better than Lulu, Tina Turner or anyone, Alanis Morrisette.

Turning "Rollin' and Tumblin'" from a blues song into a rockabilly rave-up? Great execution, but poor decision making, I would say. Do "Train Kept A Rollin'" instead. R&T is such a great blues song it seems a travesty to totally ignore that tradition and do it as a Rockabilly song. I love Imelda as a rule, but I don't like this choice.

Jeff as usual was THE business,outstanding guitar work throughout,OH,by the way Inelda joined him on stage to sng,Lilac Wine, OH MY!!,then later helped out (with Dave Gilmore)Jeff with Hi Ho Silver Linings,the noise of that whole audience singing/shouting was deafening,oh yes I was one of them screaming out the lyrics!.What a night,what a night.

Such a lovely woman! Such a great rockabilly singer. Great band, great drumming, great guitar playing - though the bassist, I think, needs to put more energy into his playing. He plays well, but needs to be more upfront. Love Imelda May. To my thinking, she may be one of those rarities that come along once in a blue moon.

This was just one of those once in a lifetime gigs,evrything about it was unreal,like some fantasic dream event but it happened and we witnessed it.I really want this gig now on dvd,the memory isnt enough,this sort of gig has to be captured on film,for all to see.

She could wipe the Eurovision song contest clean with a rousing performance like this. Imelda for the 2011 Eurovision, I say!!!
