Thank you for all these excellent videos!! I was worried about all the 'unfurnished' rental apartments that I've seen in ads, and other daily expenses in the first few months in Canada (heading to Toronto in Feb2018) but you have enlightened me much with this video, with all the wonderful $$ saving tips! We are grateful for your help ;)

Just a couple other places I wanted to mention about where to get stuff for very cheap prices. 1. Garage Sales- these are private sales people have at their houses during the summertime where they sell their items they no longer use. If you go to garage sales in Wealthy areas you will find some very nice items many new for really reasonable prices and no taxes. Definitely check them out. Plus they’re a lot of fun! 2. There are stores in almost every big city across the country that sell new & used items that people have donated to them and they use the money for charities. The 2 most common stores that are found all over Canada are: -Value Village -Goodwill You can find many good items for work or for your home. I bought several fireproof overalls at Goodwill for only $15 each. I couldn’t afford the brand new ones at the regular stores because they were $100 each. Many nurses go to Goodwill & Value Village for nursing uniforms. The money you spend there goes to very good causes and charities. I hope this helps

You're exactly right.. it's like starting over again.. we've had such a challenging year with ups and downs (few nervous breakdowns) but to us, it's totally worth it if you love Canada.. I really feel it takes 3-5 years to get on your feet .. we're still in the process of it all.. but we will all get there in the end

You videos are really helpful, thanks do much for doing this. My hubby is going to Toronto this week, we decide to join him later because you said in other video that we must find a house first and then the school in that area. I am really excited but also scare. Please make more video or vlog about everyday life or place to visit with children. Where do you suggest to buy a car? Can I deal with the rent price like to make an lower offer? Thank you!
@LifeInCanada
@LifeInCanada 7 лет назад
+MyAriaWeb thank you ;) Wishing you and your husband all the best here ;) Re rent place - yes, you can make an offer for lower then advertised price but it could re refused. And you have to show strong financial situations so they can approve you. It is a combination of Landlord's opinion and few papers (credit score, employment letter, references). Re car. If you feel more comfortable financially you can buy used car from private person or at auction. You would have to pay cash. On other side you can apply for lease or finance at the dealership- but this is long term financial obligations (5-6 years of monthly payment). So it's totally up to you

Hello!! I currently live in New Hampshire in the US & am considering relocating north of the border. I've watched a few of your videos on moving to/living in Canada & they are very helpful. Thanx so much for producing & posting them. I'm curious - have you found Canadians in general to be as friendly, polite & welcoming as I have heard? -Bob

What would be your take on this : SUPPOSE an working immigrant couple with a 2 year old kid arrives in any province under express entry. And since both are working, so what happens to the kid? Will you take baby day care services. How does a working couple manage with this kind of situation. I mean either of the partner won't want to be a liability.
@LifeInCanada
@LifeInCanada 6 лет назад
You can apply for subsidy for daycare. They are open 6-7am till 6-7pm so you will have enough time to go to work / School

I thought that food banks for for people in hunger, not for those who are just saving money.
@LifeInCanada
@LifeInCanada 7 лет назад
+privettoli food banks and similar organizations are one of the first who are proving help to newcomers - new immigrants who has to settle down in new country and start their lives all over again. So if you are getting non perishable food from them - you are automatically saving money. Food banks are helping to beat the hunger as well. As I mentioned before in my videos there are a lot of ways to get help being new immigrants. This particular one will help you to save your money and pay for rent instead of eating them.
