Sinister forces are destroying all of Thors continuity and a ruthless corporation is destroying a beloved world? This comic is more meta than Marvel/Disney intended!
@@matthewschwartz6607 yeah he is kinda far left so he makes some things political that shouldn’t be ( and I am a Biden supporting center left person ).
Disney and the people who make the movies flat out said they don’t tell the comic writers what to do they just adapt what they write but for some reason people like to think Disney is controlling the comics I mean they could if they wanted to they own it but they said they don’t want to.
14:40 Is Ewing doing a very deep cut to the 60s when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby self inserted as in universe comics writer publishing the adventures of differents heroes ? I know they did in the Fantastic Four books but I'm not sure if they ever did a cameo in their Thor comics.
Great video! Cannot wait to have this run in omni form when it's all said and done. Credit to Marvel editorial to let Ewing do this story. They're giving him more leeway than DC did with Morrison to bash the corporate machine. I like having Thor be wise. Jed Mackay is right that he is a being that has existed for centuries. He has much wisdom and is no fool unless other forces are involved. Take care and peace.
Love the run so far and this HAS to be a critique. The Author is known for his love of the stories themselves and staying true to the characters and their continuities. This has been long overdue and I GREATLY respect Al and all his efforts. Carry on sir. Also thanks for another video, I always come here first to check whenever there's new content. Glad you're still going 🤘
WHY did they bring Skurge back to life? His death has been untouched for what, decades? It seems kind of pointless for him to be back. He is a bad guy again?
Because this is the pefect example of how bad the writing is at marvel. This comic makes the captain planet cartoons look like a masterpiece. So devoid of talent this writer broke one of the biggest rules when writing Thor. You shall not dimish “He stood alone at Gjallerbru…” by invoking it to cover for your lack of talent. The writer and editor should be fired immediately
@MT-ub8qg how does this diminish that moment? Especially since it's not being used to retcon his death at Gjallerbru, but that moment is being used to test Thor and his unwillingness to surrender his responsibilities, including his own death, to other characters, even if he would have to pay the ultimate price.
The Bible says wisdom is the principle thing: and with all thy getting, get understanding. These have become Thor's greatest strengths; the things his enemies must now attack in order to war against him. How else do you defeat him? I don't like it, but I understand it. This story line could be interesting, but I hope it doesn't last long. I love the smart Thor!
Not a fan they ruined the comic line in this issue by making Thor look weak when he just beat a elder god dumb they better make up for it by him beating atum up or something
@@francescominoguarino827 that was a dumb way to explain it and a dumb thing to base a whole issue on and it don't explain how scourge was able to throw him around and how the Minotaur was able to do it also when Thor is twice as strong as they are let alone dumb magic like that shouldn't work on Thor it was a waist of a issue
How did they ruin it when it's obvious that he was affected by Story-magic, the strongest magic of all which of all which writers usually use from time to time? If you're unable to understand the Meta narrative and the obvious hammering of Thor's nerf being a by product of Thor's stories on Midgard being re-told as Roxxon Thor then maybe this comic book isn't for you
Well said,Al Ewings run so far has been nothing but trash, rehashing old story lines is lazy writing and a waste of the readers money. @fishin4bass2002
How did we go from elder gods and making Thor have superman type statements and power levels to him being thrown around by Minotaur and skurge and is under a spell that makes him dumber and changes his story when he just beat a more powerful version of the same kind of magic earlier in the run super bad writing not a fan
Also broke one of the most important rules when writing thor. You shall not diminish the significance of “He stood alone at Gjallerbru…” Cheap parlor trick to invoke accomplishments of better writers. A story unworthy of an Einherjar. Your channel had nearly convinced me to renew my Thor subscription I had dropped after 20 years, but after seeing this storyline it would appear it would have been a fools errand.
Nothing more tedious than Dario storylines.....😮💨. reads like a bad captain planet cartoon.... Rediculous agenda writing that falls far short of a compelling Thor story........
