Really happy that all of Matts cultists got sweeping advanced to death by that marine, as it's physically impossible for the planetary overlords squad to have piled into combat after the marines butchered them given that they're standing on 25mm bases and weren't packed B2B.
stephen19590 Me neither. Oh wait, didnt someone bring them and daemons against Steves Iron Warriors? The one where the Daemon-player also had über-hell-turkey.
Levies and Militia Infantry do have both Auxilia Rifle and Close Combat Weapon listed as their standard equipment. So if you swap out the Auxilia Rifle for a pistol you would be able to gain +1A in assault.
I may be wrong but i am almost certain the purpose of that drop pod is that to dread can sit inside it for the turn so cannot be targeted. so you can blow up the dpod, but the contemptor would just disembark like anything else would from a blown up vehichle
The rules in the new red book is so confusing we may all be playing it wrong... I quit using my dreadpod when those rules came out because i couldn't figure out how it works.
25:00 shouldnt the dreadnought get 3+ cover because of shrouded + the ogrens being in the way? 31:00 mutant spawn have hammer of wrath Levy squads have auxilia rifles not auxilia lasrifles
25:20 rapier laser destroyers are ap 2, normal lascannons except for 36" range, so no explosion 47:30 still ap 2 1:13:40 i think that a wreck flyer must do crash and burn (scatter large blast and damage unit under) it was nice seeing raven guard and cult, thank you!
Philip Zen, the flyer was immobilised when it dropped into hover mode, in hover mode it's treated as a fast skimmer and skimmers don't crash and burn when wrecked
Philip Zen, The most recent Crusade Army list book doesn't have a separate profile for the Laser Destroyer Array, it only lists the Laser Destroyer profile. This has been a constant area of confusion as different books list different profiles or don't list a profile for the Laser Destroyer Array. An email was sent to Forge World and the reply was. "Thank you for your email. I went to the Forge world studio and spoke directly to Alan Bligh about the whole Laser Destroyer / Laser Destroyer array issue and it looks like the initial information I had and provided to you was incorrect. Please accept my apologies for this. What Alan told me was that the Laser Destroyer and the Laser Destroyer Array are the same weapon and use the Laser Destroyer Profile in the Age of Darkness Army list. The Vindicator Laser Destroyer has additional rules as per its entry due to its enhanced Capacitors. So, what this means is that the Solar Auxilia Rapier with the Laser Destroyer should now use the stats in the Age of Darkness Army list book." That means all Laser Destroyer Arrays use the standard Laser Destroyer profile and are ap1. Of course if your group doesn't accept a Forge World email by all means use the different profiles until the next FAQ but as this information came directly from Alan Bligh it's solid enough for me
Exciting game with plenty of turn around moments! Although it ended with a big score disparity, the game felt pretty balanced. Props to Matt for not being a power hungry WAAC player and actually putting together a fun, interesting list.
Stephen Lyon lol yeah. I haven't played 40k in so long but some of the moves Quirk makes are so bad lol. I think Matt and Dave are solid players though.
True, now it´s 2 days since I watched the battle report so I dont remeber if they just called them Auxilia Lasrifles but used them as Lascarbines or not. The only real difference between them is that the rifles have 6 inch range more range so it might not have mattered that much in the end.
Hay Matt , loved this video man! Question , in what book can I find the rules you where using because they sound lie fun to try out. Thanks for loading up more 30K videos! Also what is your Age of Sigmar Army?
This battle report highlights exactly why I hate sweeping advance and I am glad that it is being removed in 8th edition. It is so heavily penalized against hordes and elite armies can get mauled and lose high points costed troops and sweeping advance squads full of infantry with one guy left... *smh*
31:36 - RYGW? math you got wrong? - it actually may make a difference on who rolls what number for attacks since all most all of the spawn are close enough to be casualties - say the numbers rolled were 6,6,6,6,5,4,3,2,1 - if he killed 3 spawn, and all spawn were valid models to assign wounds to you could allocate to the spawn that had rolled 1,2,3 for their number of attacks giving you much more attacks than if you had just rolled 6 dice after and gotten a spread of 1,2,3,4,5,6 (IE you could kill off the weakest spawn and let the more vigorous ones attack)
@44:10 all the Ravenguard Assault Marines wounded by the Leman Russ should have had a 4+ cover save as 1 Leman Russ was shooting through Ruins and a squadron of tanks is treated as a unit.
At our local store we adhere to the Council of Nikea, no psychic powers may be used in 30K games unless it's for a narrative campaign or both players agree. In as such, Invisibility and Endurance are banned powers not allowed. In addition no player may take either formations (40K) or Rites of War(30K) unless their opponent also takes them. These "house rules" make a lot of our games so much better and friendly.
Not to shit on Curtis's local shop and it's rules (or Curtis, for that matter), but I was kind of thinking the same thing. I mean, I can understand if a selection of powers is so busted that it makes games unplayable. But, removing psychic powers altogether just sounds like it would completely neuter some factions/armies entirely. And removing Formations/Rites of War, while leveling the playing field considerably in the relatively sterile 30k environment, only serves to white-wash the Astartes Legions, forcing them to rely more on the Legiones Astartes rules differences and unique units to instill character into an army list and develop battle strategy. It almost feels like it otherwise kills the character of the Legions.
Obviously it's up to your group what restrictions you want to use. But if you follow the storyline: * Word Bearers ignore the Edict because they're already traitors and dabbling in warp ritual. * Thousand Sons ignore the Edict because they just can't stop. * Space Wolves cheat by saying their Rune Priests aren't Librarians. * White Scars, Dark Angels and Ultramarines adhere to the Edict to start with, but independently reinstate their Librarius once it becomes clear that they need it to fight Daemons.
I couldn't help myself I laughed and laughed when Matt's guys all ran off the table. He always does that to other people good he gets some too. I dislike the run off the table and die rule.
Dreadnought had extra armor? ..and 3++? did Not bother watching anymore. quit my abo as well, does not seem that mwg staff even tries to bother preparing for the game. Instead covering every stupid game there is from Startrek to warmachine and what Not.
