I have literally just gotten into Heresy with the launch of 2.0 and going to be collecting Fists and this has given so much information!! Hoping that the Phalanx Warder's come out in Plastic from GW so we can easily get them in Australia ASAP!

Hard disagree on huscarls. If you aren't pushing them right down the enemies throat you didn't use them right. They can teleport in, weather fire, and charge immediately. Get a bad scatter? They'll either get bonuses because they're charged or they won't get charged and they'll walk in next turn. They're great. The battle hardened is to make up for being a bit slow, if you're outmaneuvered
So I think he just finds them too overlapping of role and missing out on the ability to sweep is massive, though not gonna say I 100% agree with everything Connor says!
Templar assault is so strong, been doing 10 games won 5, draw 2, loss 3. Doing 3x 10 templar squad in Proteus Carrier. Spartan with sigismund and roll up. They do sheesh kebab of everything that's not Terminator
On MWG an IF player took the Solar commander & Stone Guantlet combo. A Phalanx Warden unit (x18) with an Apothecary led by Fafnir Rann. It had a 4++ re-roll and FNP 5+. Took a charge from Typus and Death Shourd Termies (x5), lost 4 models and beat the Death Shroud over 2 combats (DG player conceded). Just seemed ridiculous. His Heavy bolter squad (x10) and Scorpias was killing everything else with Vets will nemisis bolters. The DG barely killed anything with his shooting. Simply add a chaplain and the Wardens kill everything with power axes lol. Don't know how many advantages the IF need tbh. *Corrected*
But that is what they are supposed to do! There weakness is getting shot by bolters 3+ 1w. What the DG should have done is 20 man tac that advance and fury the legion all the time.
@@BearfootMiniatures I reviewed the footage and updated my initial comment. The IF did have a character with them but the 4++ re-roll canceled out Death shroud termies and Typus.
@@3v3rhard - That is still more work than should be needed to kill a unit that costs that much. Too many people are using your argumentation, as if to justify the horrendous imbalance in the game. If this legion imbalance isn't corrected soon, it will take the wind out of the excitement for HH, and then you'll be left playing IF vs IF.
To clarify the Fafnir thing: It does *not* state in Stone Gauntlet that reroll for Invuln is to the Boarding shield's invulnerable save. "may reroll all failed Invulnerable Saves made against Shooting Attacks or attacks made during the Fight sub-phase." Having the boarding shield is the requirement to gain the buff. It is however just "you can reroll invulnerable saves." They'd need a lot better wording to 'fix' that. Similarly Shield wall is similar, and doesnt specify that it wouldnt grant +1 to the Iron Halo [giving a 3++] So Fafnir's Iron Halo goes to a 3++, from Shield wall, rerollable due to stone gauntlet. 88.77% chance to ignore wounds. And, he also can reduce their Strength by 1, making S8 thunder hammers no longer instant death.
@@BearfootMiniatures perhaps I should have kept it my little secret. No one spotted it yet, but its so crazy powerfull. Kills contemptors with ease, also pinning checks. Pride of the legion 6x 10 sniper vets come in at less then 2k.
As someone who's hobby flipped from one thing to the next and finally settled on the fists for 2.0 (I like painting yellow) how would make this army a positive experience to play against? How do would you handicap this army? From everything I've heard Fists could make everyone eye roll when they see the army and I'm all about the funs!!
Hey mate! So I was actually talking to Connor about this the other day, fists are strong but fine outside stone gauntlet tbh I think it’s down to your gaming group as to how far you go with toning down, and unless your doing a set points amount army put together an army how you want then maybe start pulling the best units If your not massive on warders being everywhere potentially ask your group if you can use breachers instead of warders in the rite (like it was in 1.0) and that’s a major shift I think Without house ruling I’d immediately start with not pulling the 3++ rerollings (praetor and techie style) Next would be not giving units that have a rerolling invun an apothecary I’d also limit dreads in stone gauntlet massively, I’d actually say 1 per 1000 which is a limit a lot of events are going for is still actually a really high amount in a normal army so it will double down in SG There’s not much further you can take down the army and id prob just switch up lists and not always play SG all the time (even if you were taking warders)

Taking your feedback on board and reading through the rule books I think I'm just going to go back to bare bones to start with, no RoW, no reaction (if it seems over the top) and just run with the legion trait. From there I'll just be building a force that I think represents the IF.. I'll admit though, I'm making a mini polux with the Solarite Power Gauntlet because I think it would look cool!
Nope I’m going Templar heavy I have the age of darkness box I’ve just after building and 20 unbuilt from the prospero mk3 boxset I never built and I ordered a box of 10 Tartaros and one heads upgrade which I’ll sprinkle through
Also I ordered two Templar upgrade brethren upgrade from forgeworld and a storm shield set which I’ll put on some Tartaros terminators and of course Sigismund but I’m not buying him till I build and paint all the rest asa treat
Great video….just a little annoying that you all talk over each other!! Just let someone speak and make their point then comment! Don’t just interrupt them mid sentence….then confirm the exact same point they were actually already making! You constantly interrupted Connor before he could finish and frankly, he’s the only IF player in the room so yeah….that aside, love the format and the content overall!

Sigismund sounds something you would just shoot down and forget about challenges because there’s no way to win and it just wouldn’t be exciting anyway. Shame. Shame too that there needs to be a lot of self moderation to make the games fun due to faction imbalances.
100% on the shooting of sigismund just no point in any form of combat; ye the self moderation thing is needed in all game systems played for fun, “maybe” a little more with some of the factions here
Clearly guy on the left didn’t actually read, Perturabo didn’t beat Angron in combat, he shot him with his wrist cannons and also had his entire iron circle unload their weapons at him. Yes he technically beat Angron, but it was far from “besting him in combat”. And in the new lore we actually don’t know what happened to the missing primarchs. Russ MAY have killed them but there is also some evidence that perhaps other legions such as the word bearers and dark angels were involved in their disappearance as well.
