@@alessandro6097 ciao Alessandro, ad essere sincera ho avuto un po’ sfortuna e qualche problema post operatorio, e ho dovuto operare nuovamente l’occhio sinistro a distanza di un mese dal primo intervento. Ho avuto un picco di pressione e l’occhio voleva rigettare l’impianto, che mi é stato riposizionato con il secondo intervento. Ad oggi mi tengo controllata ogni 6 mesi circa e tutto sembra andare bene, quindi mi sento di dirti che si, lo rifarei! Vedo alla perfezione, è stato solo un po’ fastidioso all’inizio abituarsi ai « riflessi di luce » sulle lenti alla guida la sera ma adesso nemmeno me ne accorgo più. Il post operatorio è stato difficile ma una volta superato non ho più avuto problemi. Chiaramente, non prendermi come la regola bensì l’eccezione, normalmente tutto va alla grande! :)

Mi dispiace per l’innalzamento di pressione, è stata davvero una sfortuna anche perché il modello ICL evo ha un buchino al centro che dovrebbe proprio scongiurare questo problema.. tu in particolare che lenti hai impiantato? Sono toriche? Posso chiederti maggiori informazioni relativamente a questi riflessi di luce? A quanto pare a questi bagliori non si sfugge e prima di impiantare le lenti vorrei capirci meglio.. Si presentano sempre? sono invalidanti? Io guido spesso di sera, riuscirò a farlo ancora oppure sarà una tortura? Sono iscritto all’università e avrò ancora un po’ da studiare, potrei avere problemi nel farlo a causa di questi riflessi? Scusami per la tempesta di domande ma non è affatto semplice trovare persone sottoposte a questo intervento e soprattutto italiani.. Spero possa capirmi

I’m having the same refraction lens surgery in two weeks time. Are you having any issues and would you recommend this surgery still since you yourself have had it?

I'd ICL 2 weeks back, my left experiences ghosting( when a light source is falling on a object I see it's corners as double) during dark/night times when there and also arcs of a small light source , but my right eye is perfect? Is it common will it get better with time?

The lens is replaceable yes, they said that everyone's eyes start to deteriorate in their mid to late forties and if I wanted to I could get the lens switched out for a new perscription at that time, would be full price for a replacement though.

Glad I could help, I have halos on occasion but you get used to them so they're not as bad as everyone thinks, at least in my experience. My eyes have always been quite light sensitive so they were more so the first few days after surgery but nothing more than some sunglasses can handle. Thanks for watching!

I only got halos a day after the surgery. 2nd day onward, they went away.

It was at LaserVision Scotland, the Shawfair hospital with Dr. Mantray, he was amazing! I think they do it separately to make sure that your eye is adapting well so that if there are any problems then at least you still have one eye? That's my guess but I didn't ask so I don't know for sure. Thanks for watching!

I just watched your first video again and when you talked about waking up for the first time being able to see, and trying not to cry made me feel a bit emotional! 😂 Have you been swimming yet?! I've got my surgery booked for next Saturday, I'm so excited and nervous but I just can't wait! It seems too good to be true. Ive got a couple of questions written down to ask my surgeon beforehand, but have you got any pointers or questions that you asked? @@helenflorence688 Sorry I've not replied sooner, I must not have been notified by RU-vid about your reply, I hope your surgery went well! I went swimming about a month and a half after the surgery and it was amazing! One question I didn't ask that I wish I would have was about painkillers, I thought (incorrectly) that I would get a pill or something to calm me down/sedate me for the surgery and only found out on the morning of that I wasn't. This is because they would need to keep you in hospital longer until the sedation wore off, also the surgery is only 15-20 mins so getting a pill that will last for a few hours is a bit overkill.

I don't know how long I waited to wear makeup but I waited about a month to swim/workout. That may be overcautious but your doctor will be able to advise. Thanks for watching!

I did notice a slight difference in how I couldn't see things super close up anymore, as in holding something right in front of my nose, but it hasn't been really an issue as I don't do it very often. If I want to look at something really close now I will use a magnifying lens or a magnified mirror. Thanks for watching!

Hi @@Inside_Archaeology Firstly, thanks a lot for responding! I had my Doctor's post surgery consultation today. Done ICL procedure in both my eyes. Distance vision is perfect. They mentioned about how perfect vision people who never had eye sight issues have little difficulty in seeing super close things clearly. Earlier, I was able to closest things at 4K clarity due to the myopia, long distance issues. I have been asking my friends, family members too to get a confirmation. For them also, nose point distance reading is difficult for them. Hoping for the best!! Will update you about my status in September last week. Happy that the surgery is completed. I have a great vision. Mornings and Nights aren't blurry now! 😃 Again thanks much Rachel, take care!! 🙂

Not they didn't feel different at all, my right eye was a bit more bloodshot/gunky after than my left but that's the only difference. I wouldn't be concerned 24 hours after, but bring it up at your follow-up appointment to see what the surgeon says. Thanks for watching!

I wore glasses for a few days before the surgery for both eyes. The second eye was weird because I tried to just take one lens out of my glasses so I could see through the frame for the corrected eye but still have the lens for the non-corrected eye but it made my brain hurt so I ended up wearing an eye patch over my non-corrected eye for a few days just using the corrected eye to see and rocked the pirate look, hope that makes sense. Why are you guys getting halos? I know lasik causes it because damage is actually being done to the eye but less work is being done to add then implant

@@ygbodybuilder3023 I only get halos at night. I assume its because the lens is slightly too small for the size of my pupil so some light is leaking in around it. In the 3 weeks I've had my ICL im starting to ignore the halos and driving is absolutely fine. I sometimes get a halos around light in the day but only if my eyes are really dry when I use some drops they go away. I suspect anyone will get halos if their eyes are really really dry too.

@@ygbodybuilder3023 I don't think it normally does but for me it has. I think I had dry eyes before and have been susceptible to worse dry eyes. Anything that disrupts the epithelial cells on the cornea will cause dry eyes maybe for a short while. I think its still better than laser for dry eyes.

Did you get the ICL surgery yet, or find out more?

@@TryGold I did not yet get it. According to clinicaltrials.gov, they’re doing studies into the EVO and EVO+ versions of the lenses. The projected completion date isn’t till 2023, which is a bit of a bummer.

I’ve had iridotomy’s on my eyes in preparation for ICL. It’s not fun and honestly demoralizing, wait for the other lens,

@@brianchristiansen5601 Looks like FDA just approved the EVO lens which doesn't require punching holes on the iris!

Yes it is more expensive than lasik, significantly so for some people. You can switch the lenses out are your eyes degrade with age but I don't know about future complications compared to Lasik. Thanks for watching!

Yeah I'm 3 years post-op no problems. I've not had any problems reading signs or driving at night. I've never had to do a DMV exam but I'd imagine I wouldn't have an issue with passing that either. Thanks for watching!

Hello steve.. if you don't mine.. I wanted to know how is your vision with bright lights at nights.. Actually your comment above matches my current situation.i had toric Icl three weeks back and now I have problems going out at nights... Especially halos and streaky lights everywhere

I don't notice them a lot anymore unless I'm looking into direct sunlight I think it takes a while for your brain to adjust.

As far as I'm aware your eyesight only ever degrades, it can't improve naturally on its own, at least not enough to warrant having to get your lenses changed, you'd have to ask your optometrist to be sure though, thanks for watching!

Vision is the same as if I was wearing contacts but my eyes are not nearly as dry, I can go swimming without worrying about losing a contact or getting an infection and it's 24/7. ICL doesn't 'improve' your vision over contacts/glasses since it gets done to your perscription but it just makes it as if you don't need glasses.

Don't think too hard about it, they also do combos of LASIK/PRK and ICL too, like they treat to a point with laser then they apply ICL (or before, no idea about the actual procedure) and you will be without glasses/contacts!

@@Inside_Archaeology You're very myopic and in a high-risk group for retinal detachment. Watch for floaters and light flashes.

A few grand, but it varies for each person depending on your eyes. Nothing covered by insurance but as I live in the UK we don't have medical insurance through our jobs so I don't know if it wouldn't be covered in the US. It was an elective surgery for me so since it's not essential its not covered by the NHS. Definitely worth every penny though! Thanks for watching!

The surgery itself wasn't painful at all, and my eye didn't hurt afterward but I did get a migraine level headache afterwards both times, which I was able to sleep off relatively easily once I got home. My doctor said it was just how my body reacted and most people don't get headaches; they kept me a little longer at the hospital to make sure everything was ok, which it was. Thanks for watching!

It doesn't wear off but as you age your eyes (along with the rest of your body) age as well and often your perscriptions starts to increase again in your late 40s. So you can get it redone but depending on how old you are when you get it done it might be 10, 15 or 20 years before your eyes change enough that you need it done again. I'm hoping to get 20ish years out of mine before I'd need to go back. Thanks for watching.

Yes I can read and use my phone without reading glasses, as I understand it if you didn't need reading glasses before you won't need them after (until of course you get old enough that your eyes naturally deteriorate). I would say that about 10cm and closer to my face (right around the tip of my nose) I can't focus/see things clearly but I don't think anyone is doing anything that close to their face so wouldn't usually be a problem. To be clear it's not a degradation caused by the surgery, it's just that your eyes do naturally degrade over time. It is small enough that I don't notice a difference, it's only the kind of thing you'd pick up on an eye test, to me it seems like it's the same.

Um no? They both corrected my vision to the same point, so they both gave/give me 20/20 vision. Personally I prefer the ICL because I always hated wearing glasses. It also means I can go swimming with not problem and I don't have to worry about breaking or losing my glasses. I was told that my eyes were actually healthier after the surgery because I wasn't wearing contacts for like 12+ hours a day.

@@Inside_Archaeology I thought that correcting the vision closer to the retina would make objects appear larger and possibly improve vision. I notice this difference between contact lenses and glasses for example. Anyway now you have360 degrees vision without any foggy or dirty glasses :-) Thanks for your nice video and fast reply.

I've had a dust allergy all my life and it's not negatively impacted my surgery. I do try to avoid rubbing my eyes and I take an allergy pill/dust regularly. Thanks for watching

No it wasn't painful and they can't put you to sleep because your eyes need to be open. I didn't get a sedative at all, but you don't really need one, the surgery is only about 15 mins. Thanks for watching!

How much I paid is irrelevant because it's different for everyone depending on how bad your eyes are, it is more expensive than LASIK and if you want to know exactly how much it would be for you I would call and ask a ophthamologist who offers the surgery, they often do a free assessment to see if you qualify and then they can tell you how much it would be. I'd give it more than a week, I had a 2 week and then a month post-op appointment, if you're still having problems by then you should definitely be bringing it up. I had no issues with blurriness, I could see within 24 hours and I don't remember any particular soreness. My eyes might be a bit blurry in the mornings right when I wake up but a few blinks usually sorts me out. Hope this helps, thanks for watching

So my blurriness is completely gone I don’t have any other issues except for the fact I can’t see things up close as this in itself is blurry you won’t be able to see fine words if you were nearsighted before and able to hold things up close to read them. In other words this was the whole point in this life changing experience to see from a distance as opposed to up close. But it words or colors are too bright and bunched together you may not be able to make them out all the clearly

What kind on IOL did you get a monofocal or multi focal?

It's different for everyone as it depends on how bad you vision is, you're best contacting the place you'd get the surgery and asking them how much the cost is, but I would say it is at least a few thousand dollars/pounds, etc. It is not as cheap as LASIK. Thanks for watching!

I got a quote for $4,000 USD per eye in Seattle, WA.

Its around £7500-9000 for both eyes in the uk, depensing which surgeon you go with.

I got a quote for $7400 in Atlanta Georgia.

Hope I'm not too late to respond! I am in NY and the surgeon closest to me quoted me $5000 total whereas the surgeon an hour and a half away (still in NY) quoted me $14,000!! Both surgeons have been doing eye surgeries for 30+ years so I don't understand the drastic difference. The surgeon I went to that charged less had way more positive reviews online from multiple sites so that's a big reason I chose them.
