In this video Nikil describes how you can implement a default time period such as year, month, etc for your report. If you would like to learn how to auto-advance your slicer selection as time goes by, then this tutorial is for you!
I have data up to NOV 2021 when i am WORKING in 2/Feb/2022. I have created calendar using Min( Fact_Table[Billing-Date]), MAX(Fact_Table[Fisca-lDate]). Now in my slicer i want to show latest Month NOVEMBER dynamically (by NOT selecting manually) & Previous Months. If I get any data like Dec2021 in the back end, in the slicer i want to see Dec Month whenever i refresh the file. We are using USA fiscal policy. USE DAX only
I have data up to NOV 2021 when i am WORKING in 2/Feb/2022. I have created calendar using Min( Fact_Table[Billing-Date]), MAX(Fact_Table[Fisca-lDate]). Now in my slicer i want to show latest Month NOVEMBER dynamically (by NOT selecting manually) & Previous Months. If I get any data like in Dec2021 in the back end, in the slicer i want to see Dec Month whenever i refresh the file. We are using USA fiscal policy. Use DAX ONLY FISCALDATE FOR ALL THE DATES IN NOVEMBER IS 6/1/2021 ( COMES UNDERS FY22 ACCORDING TO US FISCAL POLICY. I WANT ALSO SHOW PREVIOUS FISCAL MONTHS IN SLICER. bIILING DATE IS Nov/1/2021 fiscal date is Nov/1/2022
Try this: Calendar = ADDCOLUMNS ( CALENDAR(MIN(Fact_Table[Billing-Date]), MAX(Fact_Table[Fisca-lDate])), "Year", YEAR ( [Date] ), "YearData", IF(YEAR ( [Date] ) = YEAR(LASTDATE(Fact_Table[Fisca-lDate])), "Current data", FORMAT( YEAR ( [Date] ), "General number")) ) Now you can put YearData column on a slicer and select "Current data". It always will show the last date with data.😉
I would like to create the following visualizations: A slicer chart for a 3-year period to view year-on-year data. Percentage breakdown of Male and Female employees (Gender Mix). Status of positions: Number of candidates joined, offer accepted, joined, and on hold. Approval of Requisitions Over Time Distribution of Full-time and Contingent Positions Breakdown of Hiring Sources Hiring Statistics by Team Backfill Breakdown by Team Team-specific Cost Analysis When selecting the year in the chart, it is not necessary for the Year on Year Requisition Approval to be identical to the number of positions joined, offers accepted, candidates joined, or positions on hold. Some positions may be carried forward into the next year's cycle. Therefore, ensure that point number 4) Year on Year Requisition Approval displays accurate data while also ensuring that point number 3) Position Status: How many candidates joined, offers accepted, candidates joined, and positions on hold also reflect accurate data
