The same debate / confusion about body length / props in view occurred with the F5 v1 also. I have the F5v1 air unit version. The props are only just in frame for the fpv cam and can be removed with some slight post production cropping. I haven’t had a problem with props in view for the action cam, but that could be because of higher camera angle or the V1 had the mount slight more forward. I still love flying the V1 so hard to justify paying the $$$ for only minor upgrades. Great review. Thanks Andy!
I’m always impressed at your LOS skills. I have the F5 v1, and have recently started getting connectivity issues using both crossfire and now Elrs. Nice review.
@@AndyRCchannel I moved entirely aware from crossfire. I was getting intermittent connectivity issues and all of my unit. Two receivers DOA. Hence I moved the ELRS. This quad is the only one giving me this issue
My friend had major issues with the motors breaking at the spokes. He was running the 6s version. I also own 2, v1 romas and I have no motor issues. I run the 4s version. But my fear aftet many flights are some of the props fit very tight at the hub, the spoke design of the motor, I feel is weak. Could be the right prop and the right crash, could cause spokes to break. I've seen my friend go through several motors on his breaking at the spoke. He was posting about it on fb a bunch, this was maybe 8 months ago. Great talk about the frames, great video.
i have the f5 v1 air unit and is the same long noze. (and i say you this! a looog time ago) ;) and for the camera, put the carbon plates, and you can keep the two screws with nothing in shoot.
I like Air Units video quality, it's good enough for instagram or to show a friend, however... SD CARD SLOW error drives me crazy. Great video, as always I'm impressed of your los flight skill. I try to learn it, but damn, its harder than fpv! (:
Always enjoy your comprehensive breakdowns and commentary. Nice work, Andy. Surprised you didn't go for something more recent,, like the Geprc Mark5.. was it not readily available for delivery to the UK? Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦✌️
Geprc have stopped working with me sadly. They are right to do so as they sent me some products but I was too Ill to review them at the time and it became too late when I got better. Would love to work with them again
@@AndyRCchannel sorry to hear that.. hope it wasn't too messy. I know JB took so long for his review that GepRC was annoyed with him, as well. Excited for your drift car project! Hope your recovering from your health issues, I also have some chronic health problems, so I empathize. Take care. ✌️
@@willpowerfpv3246 it wasn't messy I just stopped hearing off them which was fine because I didn't have the means to make any videos at the time anyways. Sorry to hear of your problems. Wishing you well.
You need to look up your specs on screws, those front camera screws are M3 size, with 2.0mm hex, it's the threaded part that they're measuring is 3.0mm. And the Rome 5 V1 mas M2 screws in the camera guards which are 1.5mm hex and 2.0mm threaded body. So that true, they did upgrade to M3 screws, at least on the camera guards, don't know about the other areas.
a mix of the gopro 8 and the DJI cam at the end. It flips every time I mention the cam in question. But the fact you cant tell does say something about the air unit I think :) especially as really my comparison was between the session 5 and not the hero 8 which is far superior. Cheers
Diatone website @ 4:00 is a bit weird. "Roma F5 V2 (V1 Pro)" So is a V2 edition for regular flyers, but a V1 Pro edition. 🙄 Talk about creating confusion ... this beyond the analog/digital versions of the frame.
Hi Andy, I think the absence of spare props being supplied these days is part of keeping the pack size minimised for carriage. What they supplied takes minimal extra space. When loading a container, a little space saved per box makes a huge difference to shipping costs over the container volume. Don't know with this one how much "wasted" space there is in its box?
Awesome video and review as always Andy. I'm sorry if you said it in the video but would this replace your daily driver the Evoque or do you still prefer the Evoque Cheers 🍻
If I had a gazillion bucks Andy, I would hire you to do some flight training with me. I really do like your style, and personality my friend. Always a pleasure to watch your videos ! Cheers, from Moab Utah. (red rock canyon country ) Oh, and great review ! ;-)
Love you buddy. Are you saying your daily driver has a polar? I have a few quads and found I can’t deal with the polar in normal conditions. Gonna put the polar on the Rekon and the pro on the Evoke.
Hi Andy not sure if there are two-piece Bell if you look real close on top where the spokes taper down towards the Bell they get super super thin this is where they broke on a light impact😎
Its not my tune its diatones tune I only changed my modes and rates. and unless you have the exact same model I wouldn't recommend adding it to yours. But here the cli bit.ly/3Kc0pcF
Fantastic flying and review, Andy!!! 😃 Pretty beautiful frame indeed! But do not complain about the Teslas! Twitter won't pay for itself, you know. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
