Important Update - Aspergers In Society & COVID 19

I have some important news to share with you, it's both exciting and disappointing at the same time. I've been wrestling with the idea for a few days now.
Recently, I've been in contact with the University Of Manchester Media Relations team and they've informed me that they will help support the documentary with a BIG media campaign... however I've also been advised to hold off on the release of the documentary until further notice if the campaign is to work properly.
I realise that many of you may be looking forward to viewing the documentary tomorrow and it really saddens me to hold back on its release at such short notice. I think following the advice of the media team is the best thing to do in this situation as it has the documentary will have the opportunity to be covered on some major media networks and stations.
For those of you who are Patrons on my Patreon page, I have released the documentary on my Facebook group for the time being. I appreciate you all so very dearly and I couldn't ask for a better set of followers if I tried. I'm sorry to disappoint you at this instance, my goal is to raise awareness of these issues and hopefully have a positive influence on the world for autistic people. Personally, I feel like this opportunity comes once in a lifetime and this decision may affect the future of this channel at the least, and the future of the world at the most.
I can't express enough how AMAZED I am with the positive response to my documentary teaser! I'm excited to see how far we can take this documentary, and I'm hoping that this will be the start of an important change in our society. Specialised mental health support for autistic people, policy changes in workplaces/schools, and sufficient education on autism at a young age could all be possible with YOUR HELP!

Don't worry about the delay. Better publicity later will help people like us and our cause even more, that's the only thing that matters in the end. Great idea to not edit your neighbour out; she really does sound like a lovely lady. Keep safe and healthy all of you.

Hi Tom, good to see you and for me this dreaded lurgy, ie Covid has stopped my routine in it's tracks that i was finally building up going out socially, pubs etc and i was feeling good about myself, it took a few weeks in for me to adjust ,but just through some close friends I am better head wise, I but an ankle/leg injury has flared up so not able to make it outside without difficulty. Frustrating as I live in Southsea sea front and missing my perch by Henry VIII's castle, the one he watched the pride of his navy, the Mary Rose sink when turning. I am pleased the documentary is going to be promoted for the mainstream audience and it is frustrating the delay as I struggle with sitting on something, but it is all in the timing for such things, just a heads up too as I did not receive any notification of this video and found through a direct search now. Alos it is us mere mortals to be thankful to you for what you do and producing these videos, and for one you have helped me so much since finding your channel over these last years. Anyway will let you go now. Dave

I wish I was in isolation, the social distancing procedures my work have put in place have pretty much doubled the workload for my office and we have half the staff because the only other person who works here is off. Trying to keep to my routine but just too much work and not enough time. I know worse things are happening and I've not lost my job and I'm not in health services, but I am just not coping. Plus, people are assholes. A few of us pooled our money and bought a bunch of facemasks, we donated 14000 to the NHS and were auctioning off the rest so we could buy more to donate and see how far we could get it. We work at the auction house so we got a great deal for commissions and the auctionhouse agreed to donate a sizeable percentage of the commissions to local carehomes. But then the auction went live, people started bidding a lot on them and the auctionhouse started getting tons of emails from bloody keyboard warriors about how we are scum for profiteering and how exorbitant our prices for them are even though we do not set the prices, the bidders do. To the point that we had to pull all the masks from the auction, which is a shame because carehomes really need the donations during the current crisis and the NHS could really do with the masks.

Awh dude, I can imagine that it's really tough for you! That's horrible, it's sad to hear that your charitable efforts are going to waste to due some idiots online. What kind of job do you have?

Hey Thomas, I wanted to talk to you about my situation. I have Asperger's, ADHD, sensory processing disorder and auditory processing disorder. I wanted to reach out to you because I know you struggle with similar things. This channel has really been helpful to me. I could not thank you more. I also love your thoughty autie podcasts. All of these things are reminders that there is others out there like me. This is my favorite channel by far. I am proud to be an autie! Thanks for everything.

Yeah it’s nice that there’s no pressure to meet up, but honestly I miss my sports class and just getting out of the house... I’m fairly extroverted, so I miss my little coffee meet-ups 😩

How do you make a routine without anything going on

Find some things to work towards and make your own schedule around them... I usually like to have something productive, something creative, something relaxing and exercise. You don't have to do all of those things, but slowly add things to your calendar around the time you would be working, and leave the creative or relaxing things for after it would usually finish :) Hope this helps!
