Hey.. yeah.. it was an interesting way to do it.. Still looking for a better. way to set it up. The problem with the timespeed node is that you cant animate anything before the time speed because it it only shows that one frame. Ex i wanted to do some border animations using the length/position. ... right now you have to remove the time speed, go to the frame where you like the shape, right click and remove the polygon animation.

Great job. Thank you. Any way you can make your tools autodownload like MrAlexTech does? And maybe merge them all so we can one click download? New computer and I cant figure out how to install your stuff. I downloaded it and it only gives limited options to open the file. I forgot how to do this.

What version of resolve are you using? The sPolygon is a newer tool.

Yes.. when in fusion go to the effects area, Click templates->edit->effects->WilliamJustice->Shapes.. you can drag it into the node area..

Thanks a lot! But... it seems to me that the SIZE parameter does not work correctly for key frames: there is no smooth change in size between key frames in the picture, and sometimes after manipulating key frames, it stops responding to a change in SIZE value at all... Can this be corrected?

Thanks for the message. Yes, because this effect uses the time speed node to pause the animation to get a shape, the keyframing does not always work the way you want. Not sure if you know fusion, but you can open the effect in fusion, open the node group and delete the timespeed node. Then you need to go to the frame where you want like the shape, click the polygon and in the insepector riight click the text for the shape animation and remove the polyline. that will remove the shape animation . Sorry if that is too much. and you dont understand.. I may make some adjustments in the future to see if i can get this to work better and have more options.

Don't really know.. Just get different ideas and then just keep messing around until i figure out how to make them happen. I like trying new things that that I have not seen before. Hope you enjoyed the video.

i don't think you can edit the handles, though, just the coordinates. i'm blown away by your time-based way to adjust the squircliness, soooo clever 🤯

Thanks.... yeah i was kind of wanting to find a way to adjust the handles with some expressions. It would have made it much easier. The downside of what I did.. is that you cant really animate anything before the time speed. Ex.. browser length animations or color animations. Its possible to rework it so that timespeed only applies to the polygon.. but think this as a good start.

@@WilliamJusticeMedia yeah, you lose the vector quality once you get to the timespeed... something i ended up using instead of this for pseudo-squircles is feeding the output of a rectangle mask into the main input of a bitmap node. there, you can use the "low" and "high" parameters to really clip the non white / black values of the mask (but don't take it too far, or else you lose anti-aliasing), and then you can use the mask's soft edge parameter to get the smooth round corners

Its kind of a joke. I did not invent the shape, but apple popularized it when the came out with IOS 7. Just found it interesting that after making the change in icon shape... IOS became a lot more successful. Hope you enjoyed the video.
