Im in the market for a wood processor,the main purpose of a proccessor is saving time and back pain,, thank you for showing this machine with all its built in problems,from the terribly designed log bunk to the poorly designed splitter shute,the chunks drop so far that cant help but jam,how many times did you have to open the safety door to dig & dig the vertical crooked chunks to be split,you used light dried wood on purpose if it was green heavy wood you wouldnt have any fingers left because of being pinched,also the feed shute to the conveyor is jam city,,it looks impressive but i would be a mad monkey after 30 minutes of running this machine,you just saved me a ton of money & headaches,thanx again

Well you are extremely wrong on your take but that’s okay. The machine is not perfect but we are still learning it. Definitely not running light dry wood on purpose in fact we ran non processor friendly wood through it the first 2 times we’ve run it including dirty black locust which is very heavy wood. We’re learning this unit as we go and we’ll share our like and dislikes once we run it enough to form a legitimate opinion. I came definitely say it’s not a garbage processor as you claim but anyways thanks for watching.
@trtony-xe4cl
@trtony-xe4cl 7 месяцев назад
I didn't say it was garbage,but I'm sure it's a huge investment for the amount of production it puts out,at the end of the day your back would be hurting from constantly flipping the fallen chunks,also its never good to put your body in & out of the work area,fail safes do fail at some point,other proccessors are more inlign with the cutter head so they don't fall & flip, ,you had to crawl under the log bunk to retrieve fallen logs,with extra runners that wouldn't happen,again money verses production is important,while its much better then an axe it needs improvement,again I do appreciate your time in showing this machine,,, be safe
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors 7 месяцев назад
@@trtony-xe4cl definitely not perfect but this was also my second time ever running a processor so I’m sure we’ll get better as we get more experience. Either way, we’ll share our experiences with others to help where we can.

I have a question or two. Will the ram push the cut log through while loading another log to be cut? And can you put several of the small logs in and cut them at the same time? Just observations to make the process faster...
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors 8 месяцев назад
Yes, you can run multiple functions at the same time with this machine so once we get familiar with the controls we’ll really be able to crank the wood through. As far as cutting multiple small logs at once I’m not sure that would work since the clamp down arm probably wouldn’t hold them all tight and the saw may bind up but we haven’t tried it.

Rented that same one for the weekend. Ran it 16 hours and realized it's completely useless for anything other than nasty boiler wood. Just completely destroys the splits if the log isn't placed in there right. Really don't see how people run firewood businesses with these unless you have like a 16-20 way with the bigger sized logs. Had to re-split 3/4 of the stuff that ran through this processor.

That is really an unfair comparison! I've only ran the 48C Eastonmade, very briefly. It has a cab and circular saw, plus costs $175,000. The dyna I've ran 2x, with a bar chain saw, and it costs $98,500. Both are joystick operated, just takes some getting to learn the system I suppose. I do have to say that I like the circular saw feature better:)

Sorry you feel that way, our goal at HWM is to be entertaining, help others, and put out some good honest content. If we don’t run the machines we can’t really help others decide what works for them and what doesn’t. We run a lot of different machines on our channel and talk about what we like as well as what we don’t. I also buy a lot of stuff just to check out and share the videos with others. We’re not paid by anyone, we have yet to accept a product that won’t let us be honest in our videos, no sales commissions from any of the splitters/processors, and also share what we don’t like about them.

Well I can say that isn’t true because I have an Axis as well. I have yet to get it to buck up a round. Can I make nicer wood with my axis? Absolutely. But if you think you can make firewood faster with an axis it wouldn’t even be close. We also have almost 0 experience running a processor. Once we get comfortable with it I think we’ll really be able to put some wood out.

Thanks Robert, however it is not scripted at all. Dyna provided us with the machine and said run it, make some videos with it, and let us know what you think. The talking points we add into this video were the upgrades to this model over the previous models and that’s why we mentioned them. We’ll have more videos to come and show the things we like as well as what we find that we don’t. We aren’t paid commission etc. To be honest I’ve turned down items I’ve really wanted because they wanted to dictate what I said about the product and that’s not me.

These people just got this processor and are just learning to run the thing I have a old dyna sc-16 and can do a tri-axle over 20 tons of wood in less than 4 hours not bad for a 13 year old processor I like the eastonmade and I have talked to Andrew and made suggestions on his processors and dyna have talk to them many times. some people may not have the extra 40 to 50 thousand for a eastonmade at 65 years old I have to stay with what I have I don't want the payments. And what are you running just curious

@hardworkingmanoutdoors 8 месяцев назад
The Eastonmade processors are indeed awesome, however as mentioned they are at a higher price point. We’re running some sub par wood though it right now and as mentioned still learning the controls. We’ll become much more efficient pretty quickly I’d think as it’s pretty user friendly.

Have to compare apples to apples. I have an entry level Wallenstein processor and the Dyna or an Eastonmade would blow it out of the water. Dyna is a proven rental market processor and I would love to have one but the jump in price just doesn't make it doable for me. Eastonmade processor is a production machine and also not practical for my hobby. I only run my processor for maybe 20 or 30 hours a year. If money is not an object then the Eastonmade is for sure the best for production but you need to source logs then sell and deliver that wood too. Once the ash is gone I will likely sell my processor and go back to splitting with my homemade splitter.
