Such a weird feeling to have reached a point where I know and implement practically every tip in these kinds of vids nowadays. I'd absolutely love a specific vid on how to climb the gc ranks. How to go from 1600 to 1700 for example?
I feel like 1600 to 1700 just comes down to consistency. I don't think there's any new mechanic you can introduce at that point that will boost you, it just comes down to practicing all the mechanics you're already good at and get great at doing them
At that level its just lots of replay review to find your inefficiencies. Like optimal pathing and positioning. Pausing every 5 seconds and thinking of evey option you possibly have available to you and why or why not to take those .
@@poovle6924 I'm only C1, but I've done a lot of research into skills acquisition and the concept of mastery in general, and this is the most correct answer. I think that by 1600-1700 mmr, you're close enough to "mastery" (even though that concept is always moving higher in RL) that you either need a coach or you need to focus on self-coaching. This is why so many pros/streamers that do replay analysis end up reviewing GC replays. It's the point at which you've mastered enough things and ironed out so many kinks in your gameplay that it becomes hard to discern what kinks remain, and your habits have become so ingrained into your play that it's difficult to recognize and correct "bad" ones on your own. Like people above said consistency is key, and there's always room for improvement on everything from fundamental basics to advanced mechanics, but analysis is what's going to give you the edge. To illustrate what I mean, picture two players of equal skill in this mmr, one focusing on practicing mechanical consistency, while the other is still practicing a bit but also receiving replay analysis from an SSL and focusing on that advice/criticism. I think it's no stretch of the imagination to say that the second player is going to improve/climb way faster. Like an SSL player can do a replay analysis for a C1 player like me, but a lot of the things they could tell me to work on would be mechanics oriented. However when doing an analysis for a mid-high GC player they'll be able to pick out the specific flaws in their play that are holding them back. They could pick those same flaws out for my play, but if 90% of what I'm doing wrong is mechanics related then those flaws only amount to 10% of my potential improvement. At mid-high GC with much more mechanical mastery and less mechanical flaws to work on, those other specific flaws, even though they are small things, would make up more like 60-80% of the player's potential room for improvement. Squeezing out that extra tiny bit of improvement in your gameplay is the path to mastery at that point.
Im a champ 2 but that first mechanic looks kinda intimidating ngl. I now know how to air dribble while air rolling really well and 45 degree flick, now im practicing resets and 180 backflip flicks
If ur c2 and can air dribble and air ropl and 45 rlly well u might need to focus defense and things like recoveries to make you feel more comfortable going for air dribbles. Fellow c2 so take this advice with a pinch of salt
@@Jack51161 my best trait is defense, i can almost always make the save and I'm almost always in the right spot and can recover pretty quick. Which is why I'm focusing on mechanics now.
GC with garbage mechanics here. My air dribbles are ass, I don't flip reset, I barely ever go for ceiling shots/hits, I can't even flick. If you can do these things and then say you can defend at C2 level, you're probably wrong. Dunning-Kruger would like a word with you.
Shouldve included the goalpost recovery, i see to many players landing in net after an aerial, hitting the brakes and do a halfflip back instead of driving threw the goalpost and just use airroll :p
Can you make a video on how to deal with bad times? I make more training now and got c3 for the first time but since a week or so it feels like i lost my good mechanics and consistency. Your content is really appreciated and i would love to learn this from you.
When you reach a new rank you usually go back down or feel inconsistent. That's because you had a good day once and got c3, now it's up to consistency.
I hit diamond today a month and a half of picking up the game largely because of your videos. Mad curious what coaching would be like if videos are this impactful. 🤔
you're a goat homeboy, can you (just a suggestion) make a video onto how to do a speed flip correctly (im not your biggest fan so im not sure if you already made a video talking about that, but if you did lmk)
I remember when AztraL first joined dignitas I watched his stream a lot he used the first tip a lot to cut the ball, I don’t see him do it anymore, but at the time it was pretty impressive to see.
Its funny how I learned all of this by making my movement more efficient in free play. But that just gives me a nice confidence boost that I do have great movement and recovery skills :)
i do pretty good recovery and do a lot of these mechanics in free play but i never pull them off in acutal games lol. probs cuz im more confident in freeplay and go for stuff that are above my mechanics level
I was starving for a new Virge video but I was so certain we would get a different perspective of Sunless' irl RL video. That might come later but I'm happy we just got a new tips video
Very awesome great stuff you mentioned about how to recover faster recoveries is underatted and pretty hard to master espicially on the ceiling and when flipping close to the wall
Damn I already do all of these. The demo challenge is so good as 1st man. Free ball for your teammate and you're not over-committing. If you get the demo/bump then it's a 2v1 for you (in 2s). People get so mad about it too.
Your sub count says a lot about the state of the playerbase if the best coach on RU-vid doesn’t have at least 500k. I guess no one wants GC anymore. Jokes aside, great video man! Really well presented and edited as well as just some overall legendary advice. I was literally thinking yesterday that I need to improve my recoveries.
Thank you, your content is really useful and it is very easy to understand... Can you make a video on fastest way to learn air roll I just need to know how to know my inputs with the joystick and I need to know how I implement me controlling my car with air roll for airelles
Ive been playing for 5 year almost. If we as a community just unistall or plan a walk out on Psyonix and epicgames (a self imposed ban) do you think that it could work? I know that there has to be very real issues with this. Contracts between players, teams RLCS coaches like yourself, tv contracts..... It is just so frustrating what this game has become, and the amount of disrespect to console players from the development teams. Is there a way to force them? Can we take it to court? I say all of this with love and a caring understanding that this is my favorite game, however I truly just want to unistall it for what is happening. Its like they are trying to push the old player base out for the free to play base. No I'm not good at this game D3 peak but since free to play im a d1 almost plat. I just lose ever game it seems like. And the Banning from ranked has gotten out of hand.
That e-Swap controller is ass, three different joysticks started bugging completely. Better for mechanics and feels great but quality control on their components is terrible.
I watched this video and not even 5 seconds in my rank instantaneously shot up like a rising star. 10 seconds in and i was ssl. I quadriple flip reseted on squashy miffuns twice with a turned off monitor. I am scared. What if i watch the whole video?
