Quick vid today on improving how the pellet is loaded into the FX transfer port, one of the more important areas for accuracy, the smoother the pellet is loaded into the transfer port the better.
I am always looking forward to the next video because they are actually made to be informative and to add knowledge, this video is no exception. Keep the good work up guys 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank-you so much,I have a new fx maverick which was shooting all over the place, just followed this video and now put 100 pellets through the gun hitting center everytime, really great, thanks very much.
Great work as usual Jake, and very enlightening! It's good to know about the other portential causes of innacuracy, and/or pellet damage, as most of us tend to suspect a faulty mag, or misalinged pellet probe in the fist instance.
Thanks for posting this! Anything that helps get the pellet into the bore without damage is a good thing! I've always wondered how much damage the pellet gets from being repeatedly bashed by the shuttle and scuffed around the inside of the magazine.
All depends on the mag to be honest, I have had mags that destroy pellets flattening the skirts and damaging the sides, but then other mags are perfect, I think its just how lucky you are. Thanks for watching.
Hi got a question for you av tried FB and the gun shop can't get an answer maybe you can help I got a brand new FX Crown mk2 177 the transfer port low med and hi doesn't turn is this because its sub 12 or should it turn ?? thanks for any help/ info Derek
Great video!!😁. That also makes a huge difference on any air rifle that's being pellet picky!!! Now to figure out a tool for the breach putting lol,,. Shrink the o ring on the way in and let go when ya pull it out👍. You'll make millions lol
Would be nice, although to be fair no rifle manufacturer really does that sort of thing outside the comp rifle makers, still a nice mod to do though. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video. Just a quick question how easy is it to remove the transfer port with the loctite on the thread and do you put some back on when you reassemble? Keep up the great work.
Another great video thanks 👍🏻 I have just received an impact M3 sniper .22 (fac) and taken my first 50 shots today! Weather was appalling not a good testing at all! Still, I expected it to group slightly better than it did. I understand these kind of need running/settling in first but after that, what are the first things you would do to achieve greatest accuracy? Thanks.
Impacts are very strange rifles, they take a lot more bedding in that regular ones in my experience, first thing to do would be a proper barrel clean, next find a pellet / slug and tune the speed for the best results, after that if your still not happy a little barrel polish/ experiment with different liners. Thanks for watching
@@sub12airgunners Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I will put a few tins of pellets through first to settle things then see if cleaning has any affect. Thanks again.
It's just something we do to all FX barrels sometimes it makes a big difference and sometimes very little it just depends on the port some are better than others 👍
Hi another great video, You transfer port hole in the barrel looks to be oval have you done that or is it a bought item? On my dream tac it is just a round hole. It look very restricted!!
If its a .22 then it will be very restricted, but this is the .177 port and its standard, they restrict the hole so you can swap between calibers without altering settings on the rifles in sub 12. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I've bought a new transfer port for my Wildcat hoping to cut down the number of parts with the potential to move or expand differently so I bought the longer brass version that replaces the brass & steel with one peice, I presume there is an O ring to be fitted internally although on first viewing I can't see a recess for it, if there is how do you get it in position so deep inside ?
Nice vid Jeff, thanks. To inspect the pellet after loading maybe you only need to remove the mag but the rod could very easily damage head, don’t you think? Cheers and thanks again. John.
The rod can damage the head, but to be honest the main thing we are looking for is damage to the sides and skirt of the pellet, the head face is quite unimportant, in this test anyway, Thanks for watching
Great video as usual, tho if we wanna be nitpicky, after all the work carefully polishing brass, it might not be the best idea to use a sharp steel tipped pin to push the inner o-ring in, or be very careful not to touch any polished brass at all. Every contact between steel and brass, brass loses. Maybe as a precaution use a wooden pick? For like shish kebab/shashlik. Yes splinters would be a B. But they can be cleaned out and you can touch the polished brass as much you want.
If your careful its not something to worry about, your not poking the brass just the o ring, you can use tooth pics or cocktail sticks if your worried, but I get them out with a sharp pointy thing and put them back with the same tool as long as your not putting excess pressure or trying to force it these no chance of slipping and even doing it for the camera is pretty easy. Thanks for watching.
Hello again from a novice air gunner. I am going to install a adjustment for hammer spring in my Impact but when I try to pull out the C3 it feels spring loaded and just want to spring back in again. Is that something that is on sub 12 and in my case 10 joule? When I look at others doing the same thing they just pull the rod out. Is it something in the plenum to help with low power?
@@sub12airgunners So if I upgrade my Impact with power plenum and higher power I can take it away? is it ok to leave it in? I only have 2mm hole in the transfer port is it the same in sub 12`?
@@lassesarnhult9283you would leave it out when upgrading to the power plenum, its not needed. Yes the 2mm hole is standard for .22 sub 12 it allows you to swap between .177 and .22 without touching the power settings. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners i took it apart today and I realized there were no hammer weight. Is it so in sub 12 also? I was going to install slug power kit. Hmm Do you know what hammer weight to buy for an impact M3
They should be standard now, the new liners have it laser engraved on the side of the liner, older rifles won't have the markings but the newer liners have the superior markings on the barrel. Thanks for watching
Kind of bad QC leaving an expensive weapon to the customer in that state. But they know people like to do tweaks like this, taking the job off fx's shoulders.
