I agree with you, I have never liked to use range finder cameras, I like WYSIWYG, so I had SLR analog cameras before I got DSLR cameras, now when I have mirrorless cameras with EVF, I fell "like home" with my cameras ! I think with a fixed Lens camera like the over hyped Fuji X100 series cameras, you are too limited, I like to have several Lenses for different purposes. I would like to see a Fuji X-E5 with the new 40 megapixels sensor and an upgraded 5.8+ mega dots EVF with a higher magnification and a larger battery, THAT would be a perfect Camera !
The Fuji 27mm is a gem, small and very sharp, I love this lens on my X-T20, the never version with the aperture ring is my most film era like lens ... and makes the camera so stealthy
It makes me happy to see so much XE1 love lately!! It was my first real digital camera I bought in 2017 and started with adapted FD lenses I got at estate sales. I miss the simplicity and size of it lately, makes me wanna try it again!
Wow, that's exactly my story: x-e1 as a first digital camera, fd lenses and all. Although I think I got mine around 2015. However, I really think this whole shabang with "the magic of the first x-trans sensor" is vastly overblown. Compared to x-t2 I currently use, x-e1 is slow, has a terrible viewfinder and there's really no real difference in color.
The EX-1 was my first Fuji and from an image quality perspective I don’t think there’s much to separate it from my current X100V, but I really struggled with its shutter lag and overall responsiveness. I think the X-T1 is the value play if you’re considering an early generation Fuji
@@lwwells Indeed. I have and use the XE1. The reason I want the XE2 is the addition of PDAF. It is faster and more accurate autofocusing. Like many Fuji bodies, there is a premium that must be paid unless you can wait for a deal that may or may not show up. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I thoroughly enjoyed your perspective on taking photos. I find editing to be such a tedious chore. I just want to take the picture and enjoy the results. Please continue your content production. It is so refreshing 😊
I can't agree more, the X-E1 is an overlooked gem! I picked one up used a few years ago but ended up (unintentionally) killing it on a kayak outing. I missed it so much that I searched for a replacement, even though I also own an XT100T and XT3. Now it's my everyday camera with some TTArtisan lenses. Love your channel and creativity with both film and digital. I'm an old school film shooter since the 1970s but have embraced digital as well. Photography is all about trying new things and sometimes new is old and old is new.
I had the xe3 and the form factor is pretty similar. I kind of regret getting rid of it 🥲. Love those shots of the curvy/wavy buildings. Very nice colors as well.
I love the X-E1 so much that I bought a second one that was converted to IR. The X-E2 has a slightly different image vibe, but the viewfinder is far better for use with adapted lenses. My standard travel setup is the X-E2 with the pancake and either an Olympus PEN F 40mm f1.4 or Jupiter 3. Tip: Night shots with the Jupiter 3 and X-E2 are the closest thing I have seen to Kodachrome out of a digital camera. There's just something about that glass.
I love the form factor of this camera. I have the X-E1, X-T1, and some Sony full frame mirrorless cameras and I keep going back to the X-E1 for the feel and great jpgs. It's just the easiest to carry around everywhere
I started shooting with Fujifilm a few years ago with a used X-T2 & X-T20. Through my experience with them, checking out every other camera in the line, I decided to give the legendary X-E1 sensor a shot. Lord almost everything about the camera except for the lagging shutter & focusing, both just slow enough to be noticeably annoying. Half of my shooting is with vintage manual lenses, so when doing so the focusing problem obviously didn’t come into play, but other wise did. I took a chance after a short while by also purchasing an X-E2, which solved all of the problems I was having with the X-E1. Faster, more accurate focusing (the X-E1 one has inferior contrast only technology), noticeably less shutter lag, better rear screen, etc., & most importantly, although some may disagree, I like the second generation sensor as much as the first, and it has better dynamic range to boot. This camera to me is the E model line sweet spot. I ‘ve since sold the X-E1 & X-T20, the X-E2 now being my favorite Fujifilm camera. One more thing you might want to check out, the most overlooked gem of a bargain in my opinion, the way too often discarded without a trial plastic Fujifilm 15-45 kit lens. Unlike many other manufacturers, Fujifilm doesn’t compromise with the glass on their cheaper plastic lenses, just the cheaper plastic itself. This minuscule zoom weighs practically nothing & gives an effective zoom range of a nifty 22.5 to 67.5, excellent quality especially at the wide angle setting. I also own and shoot with the Fujifilm 27mm pancake with the aperture ring, which I also love, but just alerting folks to the under utilized zoom option available, which is fairly easy to give a shot to, as they’re abundantly cheap in mint, unused condition on EBay.
Thanks for this comment. I recently purchased the E-E1 because I wanted to checkout the 1st sensor and I am having the worst time getting shots in focus. I can get a full scene in focus, but using the macro is so difficult. the things I am focusing on, usually in the center of the frame, come out blurry, while all around it things are in focus. It is quite frustrating. I guess, if I want to hang on to it, I probably need to change my shooting with this camera and really just use it for full frame shots, maybe architecture and normal family type shots. I will definitely check out that lens you suggested, sounds like a good option, the kit lens. I will look into the 27 mm as well. Thanksfor sharing! BTW I have an X-T2 and love it so much. That 3rd sensor is great. I did get the X-T10 for the 2nd senor and I am getting used to that one as well. It is so light, it's crazy, but I like it so far. Thanks again!
Hello Lucy! This was my first Fuji camera as well. Then I sold it because the shutter looked a bit crappy. And the autofocus was relatively slow. Then I bought an x100v, which I love in many ways, I love the discretion of the leaf shutter, the greatness of the improved OVF, the high noise tolerance of the sensor, but something is still missing.... Too perfect, too sterile. I really like the x100v, but now you've convinced me to buy an xe1 again. Its "dirtiness", its simplicity is closer to me. Thanks for your videos, I really like your approach to the subject. Daniel from Hungary!
I sold an X100T, because of lack of use (I own X-Pro1, X-T20 & X-T2). I like the smallness of the X100T, and its style. I went looking for an affordable X-E2, but never found one. BUT I stumbled on a Fuji I wasn't familiar with; the X-M1. I found one in excellent condition and bought it for $220. It's a great small camera, and since I have a silver version, it has style too. I have paired it with a 27mm TTArtisan f2.8. They make a great combo. Thanks for another nice video.
Bought the X-E1 on pre order in 2012 with the XF35. Still have both! The lens lives on my X-Pro2 now, so I keep the mighty 90 on the X-E1. Still has awesome jpegs with the 1st gen X-Trans, let it live til I'm six feet under.
Hey Molly! Thank you 😊 haha yes I wasn’t in the market for anymore cameras but I was so lucky to be sent this one by Patrick! It really is amazing to use. Still love my G2 and X20 though.
I own the successor, the X-E4. Same great camera, just naturally coming with a few improvements. Lovely camera. Also my favorite from the Fuji X series.
I loved your focus on your experience using the camera and the photos u got, rather than the technical side, plus your aversion to post-prod ! Excellent !!That’s wot Fuji is for isn’t’ ? Great J-Pegs !! And lovely images too !! Thanks Lucy !!
The X-E1 is a mighty fine camera, one of the best designed by Fuji. I always found the EVF a tad too small for me personally though. I still shoot the X-Pro1 which I adore, combined with the 18mm f2 it's a fantastic everyday carry. That lens is not optically perfect, but I love the render of it. I love the framelines as well on the X-Pro1, but I also shoot a Leica M9, so I'm used to it I guess.
I have the stripped down younger sibling, the X-M1 and it’s great. If you haven’t already, you can use the little pop-up flash for a little bounce flash indoors and it works great.
I baught an X-E3 and then an X-M1, the older M1 sensor did remind me more of film than the newer sensor but I love my E3 and have an adapter for my CAnon lenses too.
Another excellent vid. Totally love your zero BS "I donʻt care what the others say, this is how i like it" message. Love the photos youʻre getting out the camera, too. I never gave it enough love. On the x100 bodies, I could never gel with them either until I turned on the electronic shutter sound. Itʻs the same for me, I gotta HEAR that I took a photo. I can get by with the lowest volume setting and quietest sound choice, but I couldnʻt get on with the silence of the leaf shutter.
Thank you Patrick for bringing me and this camera together! I love it so much. This was such a generous gift and it really had pushed me over the edge to including so much more digital in my work flow! Can’t thank you enough Patrick 🙏🏻😊📸
Great video Lucy and Lux! Love the xe series! And definitively the lack of feedback on my x100v when pressing the shutter is absolutely maddening 🤯 Enjoy the xe1, it’s definitely a badass! 😊
The Xe1 is an amazing Camera. I have it for 4 years now and I use it a lot more than my X100F and Ricoh gr 3. Paired with a minolta lens from the film Era it is even better. If you find one at a good price go for it you won't be disappointed
I just bought an X-E1 a couple of weeks ago. Love this camera. The SOOC images are so good. Sure it's slow and focus peaking is limited, but the trade off is the amazing images you get out of it.
Lucy great to see you getting more into some of the classic digital Fuji gear. If you enjoy the XF 27mm (~40mm equivalent) focal length, I highly recommend checking out a manual lens - the KamLan 27mm F1.4. I had this lens along with Fuji XF27mm. Yes the Fuji is compact, but the KamLan offers quite a bit that makes a top choice, even over other Fuji classics like the XF 35 1.4. The KamLan has a bit more length, and its manual focus throw is quick. The larger aperture if very handy and the KamLan can focus much closer than the XF 27mm. The colors are more vibrant on the KamLan, and it has quite a bit of characterful bokeh at 1.4 with great sharpness stopped down at 2.8 and up. I sold, but will probably pick it up. My Fujifilm X20 recently bit the dust from a small drop but I managed to score a X-T2 (with 2 free lenses!) in mint condition. That body style is not much bigger than the X-E series, though I run it with a grip and some heavier lenses. The X-E3 is also a great camera, though it may not have the early X-trans sensor, it is very responsive, with a great set of intuitive controls (even more than its successor) which may be desirable for some.
I recently got this camera together with a Fuji 16-55, Fuji 55-210 and a xm1 for 350€. After testing all that gear, I sold the two lenses and the xm1 for about 450€ and only kept the XE1. And what can I say - it's such a lovely camera! A few weeks back, I went to my local film shop and got a used disposable camera for free (because they would throw them away anyway after taking out and developing the film). Then I opened this disposable camera and screwed/cut out the lens part, drilled a hole in my body cap for the Xe1 and glued the plastic lens into the body cap - et voilà - there is my new lens. And honestly this was such a refreshing experience - fixed focus, fixed aperture and fixed focal length meant that I could solely concentrate on the light and composition of my images. Furthermore, even though the lens is 35 mm on APS-C(→ equivalent to about 50mm on full frame) this lens does not stick out at all and provides a low profile appearance perfectly fitted for street photography. Sure this plastic lens won't be tack sharp, especially in the edges but center sharpness is actually okay, if one isn't planning to crop into the image afterwards anyway. That's why I highly recommend trying this lens hack out - it's free and still produces stunning images! - I personally chose a Kodak Funsaver disposable camera lens to do this, but one can do this with any sort of disposable camera. To sum up this comment, I'd like to ask everyone reading this what his favourite Fuji Film Sim Settings are, cause I'd really like to get some inspiration :D (Preferably for the Fuji XTrans 1 Sensor - which is shared by the xpro1, xe1, xm1) I've tested a few custom ones so far but realized, that I completely unexpectedly prefer the colours of the Raw Files the most :0 So far I'd say if there'd be a film sim looking exactly like the raw files (which dont look like Provia btw.) I probably would choose that one.
Have an X-E2 I’ll never sell. 27mm focus motor just died so I have to find a replacement. The colors from the 1 & 2 are some of the best from Fuji ever. I slightly prefer colors from the 2. Thank you for doing this video.
Very nice photos. Looks a lot like your film shots. I always prefer to turn off shutter sounds on digicams, but I do enjoy the shutter sound of some of my mechanical rangefinder film cameras - and the shutter sound of my Nikon DSLR cameras. I have been quite tempted to pick up an old Fujifilm digital camera - I found an X-10, but I decided against getting it at the moment. I have already spent a small fortune on camera gear, and odds are, my financial situation will get worse in 2023. Sounds like springtime might be strike time as well around here with how the 2023 CBA negotiations are going so far, and that would hurt - a lot. Anyway, thank you for another interesting video.
Hey 👋🏻 thanks for watching! Oh Fuji X10 would be cool but yes I agree that not a good time to go buying anything you don’t really need at the mo unless you are in a good finically position of course. We all really have too many cameras! Hope 2023 ends up a bit better than what you are predicting. Thanks for watching
I love my Fuji X-E3 body, well bodies as I use one as a full-time "Zoom camera" (and nobody notices lol). I don't care about video and I really bonded with it after switching from my Olympus PEN-F (which I also still love). And yea the vintage lens thing is addictive.
Love the channel Lucy. I really love the passion and love for photography you bring to every video! You and a few others inspired me to finally start making videos!
Hello 👋🏻 ohhh thank you! That’s great to hear and congrats on making vids! It’s such a fun thing to do and we have learnt so much. I absolutely love making these videos for you guys!
@@LucyLumen I'm definitely in the learning phase lol as I am not a natural in front of the camera. But hoping to get better with each one! I feel like the important thing to do is just get started and progress is inevitable after that
i had the same experience with the X100 og 😅 watched caseys video over and over again to get in the right mood but ended up selling it now as the prices are super high 😆
I have the E1, E2s and E3. I love shooting vintage film lenses mounted on the E1, slow AF is not a factor then. B&W can really look good SOOC, I use a combination of changing the hightlight and shadow settings and there's another little known trick you can use. You can change tonality of B&W by using K adjustments to WB. You should try playing around with that.
i just bought this camera past weekend and am so happy. I want to use it to get into photography and learn to take good photos, and when i feel i‘m at a good level i want to get more into shooting film. At my current level(pure beginner) i think shooting film, especially at the current prices, would just be a massive waste of money and hinder any learning that would occur otherwise.. I‘m not very creative, but i hope photography will be something i can pursue for many years to come :) Thanks for the review on the x-e1, it‘s very helpful!
I have an Xe1 and the colours are GORGEOUS I sometimes get confused when im shooting on the velvia film sim whether I shot it on actual velvia or this camera, that PARTICULAR film sim is accurate
@@alex-E7WHU when I sold my Fuji cameras I kept the lens. The lens worked well with focus peaking and the quality of images I got out of it was great. Hope to get back into Fuji and hope to use this lens again.
I had tried the original 100f when it came out in 2011 I believe? At a place we call the millennia mall in Orlando for a few hours while meeting a stranger. We both got along and while the wife was shopping for Christmas we switched cameras and shot around the mall. I loved the look of the 100f but found out I hated that camera! Hated it! But now the 100v is my favorite camera and haven’t touched anything else for months.
The XE series of cameras are all actually good. They get less love because of the 100F & V cameras. That’s the reason I got the XE4 and use it for all of my work.
shutter feedback is a huge part of the shooting experience for me. my x100t is so underwhelming lol. Always feels so satisfying to go back to my Minolta
I totally agree with you. I am regularly using my Xpro1 and 99,99% using the EVF. I do find the OVF is a bit annoying as well. Try using the focus peeking feature when you are using manual lens, it might help you.
on the original x100 you can turn off all of the information in the optical viewfinder , you can get parrallax correction and you can even turn off the back screen to get a true film experince , now for the colors , you can edit those colors in camera with film sims 5 of them , then change white balance and even choose jpeg size , now to xe-1 has the best sensor fujifilm made , from the x pro 1 but , the viewfinder is too small for most of us , but great video ! you have to try the x100 with flash as the leaf shutter is amazing with flash and the built in nd filter
thank you for your input on this camera. it's worth putting on the radar. I assume the photos you shared were jpegs, correct? How was the battery life?
Thank you! Yep all just jpegs I didn't shoot any RAW at all because it kind of defeats the purpose of these cameras for me and what I want from it. Battery life was good but we ordered some new batteries for it. The battery life using the original X100 was pretty bad to be honest so definitely worth buying a fresh battery of two for these older Fuji cameras I think.
My first Fuji camera was the original X100 special edition. However, I have always shot RAW because the camera is so good it deserves to have all the details retained in the files it produces and not have jpg compression throw them out. Even so, Fuji know a thing or two when it comes to processing their files and their jpg files are very good I have to say. Since 2014 I have been using the X Pro 1 and couldn't bear to be without it. The RAW files are sublime and need very little done to them (or as much as you want to do to them). I like your images, so good luck and continue to enjoy your photography in whatever way suits you best.
Loved your comments about the Fuji 100V, I agree, I bought the camera 2 years ago and the leaf shutter killed my foto mojo! I have tried to reignite my passion for it by adorning the camera with a skin, shutter release button and thumb grip but, alas I feel no affection for this camera. I am thinking about selling her .
I've just purchased a used XE2s after watching prices continue to climb to ridiculous heights. I can't wait for it to arrive. I have a TTartisans 25mm/f2 manual lens that I think will end up living on the camera. I intend to use this combo mainly for street/architecture primarily in B&W. I look at it as a poor mans Leica monochrome. Very excited for it to arrive!
bought the x-e1 2nd hand to try out fujifilm cameras. Convinced me, than bought many more bodies and lenses from fujifilm. made more than 125.000 clicks on this, preferred it over my x-t2 as my go to cam in my daypack. Only after some accidents manual focus and later evf did not work, so I replaced it with a 2nd hand x-e2. must say for photographers - if you don't need fast af, or fast framerate - this cam looks cool - "is it a Leica?" - and gets the job done.
I have owned all of the cameras you’ve mentioned in this video. The xpro1, x100, XT4, so on and in my opinion the xpro1 with the original 35mm 1.4 is hard to beat, that being said the original Canon 5D with the cheap “nifty fifty” is the film like king to me!
just discovered your site. You are delightful and very informative! i have an Xe-1 and a 2, along with an original x100 and then got the S version. I have to admit, the XE-1 with funky vintage lenses is about as much fun as you can have!
Fuji aficionados debate about the Xtrans 1&2 sensors as to which one is better. I have the XE1 and enjoy it. I just purchased the XE2 and look forward to taking it out. I wonder if the image quality between the two bodies will be the same or similar. I love the kit 18-55 lens. I think it is a little too big for the XE bodies. Maybe a XC zoom might be a better choice. Right now I have the 27mm pancake on the XE2. A very nice pairing. I’m sure the thumb rest is a good idea. The camera is small. Overall a good thing. Thumb rests make holding the camera more comfortable and confident. I try to use one on all my bodies. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
You really bring a good point across i own the x100, xe1 and xt2 and the sensors seem to have a more filmic colour output compared to the xt-4 i own. I like the xt-4 in terms of image quality but the previously mentioned have a certain character that the xt-4 misses a bit. Great episode!
Love the video, got give XE1 with 27mm ,a learning curve after 30 plus years with OM 1 film. But it is used alot and just starting to use my OM lenses. Only pain is 27mm lense cap, plus as you mention comp switch. Love that Brisbane accent, do miss it.
to my knowledge, the original x100 does NOT have the same sensor as the x-e1. the x-e1 has the x-trans 1 sensor, while the original x100 has a bayer sensor. that would also explain why you prefer the images of the x-e1.
Ah yes I know it doesn't. In the vid I said it's the same as the Xpro 1. I just compared it to the X100 because I was also testing one at the same time and it has a lot of hype right now. Thanks for watching.
great camera....I had it for about a year or so and love it with either the 27mm pancake or if I want zoom I use the small 15-45mm....I keep the 18-55mm zoom mostly glued to my xt1 :)
For work I shoot Canon, personally I shoot anything I can get hold of. The X100 series blew me away loved them, even though the original was quirky and glitchy, the T was far better the F far far better, not moved to the V I went elsewhere, but have since bought a used X-pro 2 which I absolutely adore. Fuji just do good gear.
I went with the xpro1. Same difference really. But it was interesting because I shoot this with my xt2 on photo walks occasionally and remarkably enough, most of the photos I think are keepers, tend to be from the xpro1.
@@richardmatta58 yep, I get that. Sometimes that little zoom is just what I want, especially when I don’t want to carry extra lenses or if it’s in a place where “zoom with your feet” is impossibly. I really like it.
I have this camera it has a good sensor. But the EVF has lag but if you push the shutter button down it goes away. I don't like S-AF single auto focus how it won't hold after you press the shutter. One last focus peaking has white dots wish you could change the color too red as white can be a little hard to see in bright light.
I think the sensor on the XE1 is probably the GOAT but the XE2 would probably be easier to live with in terms of being a bit more modern. The XE1 is pretty clunky to use.
@@LucyLumen Amen. I have a XE1. Used it for the St Patrick’s day parade with the 27 pancake lens. I want the XE2. The sensors seem about the same. The XE2 sensor has PDAF. That makes the autofocus quicker and more accurate. The XE1 contrast detection is OK as long as the subject isn’t moving very fast. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Imo the xe2 is the perfect upgrade to the xe2. After that, all Fuji rangefinders got downgrades in UX. The only upgrades were to sensor, autofocus. One step forward two steps back. You get some more megapixels but lose the s c m switch. Get better ux around film sim in q menu... But lose the "template" nature of them that applies them to your "BASE" config and tweak from there
I had the X-T1 back in 2015. Not sure if it has the same sensor as the X-E1. I used the XF 35mm 1.4 with my X-T1 and I loved the images from that setup.
Never agreed as much with any other video of yours. I own both the original x100 and the x-e1, only started using them a little closer to their release date, around '13 and '14, and the X-E1 is certainly the camera I enjoyed most overall. I still absolutely love the x100, it was the one camera that completely restarted photography as my hobby and it's still with me in my bag wherever I go - but I never really thought about upgrading it because the OVF is a totally wasted feature on me, I simply don't use it and shouldn't pay half of the camera's price for it. And since I'm very much into portraits I wanted an interchangable lens camera too, so the X-E1 was the logical follower. I've been through all the lens stuff with it too, from native over adapting, and while I had a lot of fun adapting (especially once I got a focal reducer) it was just too bulky for my taste, so today the X-E1 lives on as a carrier of cheap chinese manual lenses, and these are really fun. Both cameras are great conversation starters, especially when working with models I got a lot of praise for their looks, hehe. The X-T* line is a huge letdown in that aspect. And finally of course, the two ProNeg film simulations are the most underrated simulations of all, they are my absolute favourite - standard for portrait, high for the rest, and then some monochrome.
Oh my god yes! I agree with you here as well, especially with the XT point. They just don’t look as cool or nice! Thanks for watching and glad to hear you also love this camera!
Hi just found your channel, I’m impressed with your presentation and content. I have the xt2 and absolutely love it but the xe1 looks like a great small camera . I’m in Melbourne, and have subscribed. Looking forward to seeing your other videos. I also shoot with an Olympus om4 35 mm. Love film.
Thank you so much! I used to live in Northcote in Mlebourne actually. Be sure to sign up to my newsletter as well if you want to stay in the loop with what I'm up to!
I started shooting on the street with a Nikon D5600 and 35mm lens, which I took a bunch of great images with. After a couple years I switched over to an X-E3 and 27mm lens just because of size. While I truly love the form factor, I'm not 100% convinced of the camera itself. I mean, I've taken it on several trips, but am not wowed by three camera as opposed to the Nikon. Maybe I picked up the wrong X-E_ camera.
Still really love the colors I got with the X-Pro 1 I had back in the day. I hope LightRoom has improved more from the "noodle/worm" days. (But that's only for RAW anyway!) But Capture One is a superior Fuji editor anyway ... I was never happy with the JPGs from any Fuji camera, but the colors are easily the best from any digital I've used that wasn't a $10,000 Hasselblad. So I completely understand the love for the X-E1. Physical controls forever, please. ha ha.
my first Fuji was the X-M1, with the mentioned sensor X-Pro Sensor, followed by the successor in th eX-T1 and yes, I agree, these 16MB Sensors had a very unique character. But at least Acros did a very good job later, to get a lot of character back and worth the upgrade, at least for me. Currently I explore the T5, lets see... I only did get the X-E3 a try...but I need either a flexible LCD or a bigger EVF, and the X-E does not have either :/
Hi Lucy! It's one of my favourite cameras from Fuji. I sold mine but I think I'll buy another one. I had the Pro -1 and did not like it, because I don't like OVFs and the E1 has a better EVF. I'll stick with the XH1 and XE1. XH1 for the wonderful EVF and shooting experience, and easy of use, focus peaking and everything, even if the XH1 is to big and heavy for me. The 27mm from Fuji makes beautiful romantic photos with beautiful bokeh, allowing to perceive what is behind the subject, but in a beautiful way. My favourite Takumar is not the 1.4, but the f/4, macro. It also makes a wonderful bokeh, has a lot of character and it is very sharp. Colors are really wonderful. You have to try it. If I want bokeh and beauty, I choose the 7Artisans 35mm 0.95. It makes a beautiful marriage with Fuji. EX1 has some caveats, almost all of them are not important. The only one that is really important for me is about the litle poor EVF, but I can work with it. That's why I sold it, but I have to get it back. Oh, I was forgeting, The EX1 is the most beautiful camera, after the X20 !Thanks for the tips, I'll check the links.
*Remember, the rotating rial in the thumb that clicky is fragile, just gradually clean it with sensor blower or something to make it not sticky, mine is unresponsive after 5 years or more, but still usable, just dont over do it.
I ❤️ love my XE-1. I bought mine for $150 bucks 2 years ago it's working amazing 👏 I use my 6 manual focus X-Mount lens plus 6 more auto focus lenses 😂
Love the X-E series! I have an X-E4 and I fiddle so much less and just shoot, I’ve gotten some of my favourite shots from it with the 27mm and 35mm lenses. Also would just like to say thanks for the great videos! They have in part helped me to get back out and just make things.
I love thé XE Line. I prefer XE3. I was very disappointed in the XE4 and sent it back. I’m looking for an XE5 with the same ISO /Shutter speed dial as the 100V The Fuji 27mm is exceptional !!
Great camera, great review….and so too is the call out for zoom lenses…all this prime lens purity gets a bit much sometimes ….though to be fair the 27mm rocks on this camera.
I guess everyone has there own style of shooting. Seems the isuue with shooting film simulation is, you are always stuck working wth JPEG's from a 16 MP sensor. Or, could get easily 50 free presets then apply with 2 or 3 clicks on a RAW file in editing??
