After a man-made virus wipes out most of humanity, a prisoner is sent back in time to find samples that could help them make a vaccine and hopefully learn what really happened. Subscribe to our second channel: tinyurl.com/Movie-Recaps
@@alanklein2996 She said she was in insurance. I took it to mean that she was that guarantees they get a copy of the virus. She would have been infected with it.
1:12 fun fact about this scene. this shot of him sitting on a suspended chair was an idea that originated from a painting called "Neomechanical Tower (Upper) Chamber". Lebbeus Woods, the artist of that painting, saw 12 Monkeys and filed a lawsuit against Universal for copyright. He eventually won the lawsuit and Universal had to remove this scene from theatre and home video release. eventually Woods allowed it back in if he was paid settlement. we do not know what the settlement was, but it was "upwards of six figures" this case was referenced a lot on the grey area of copyright
@@StandYourGroundHomestead the lady in the plane is from the future, they now know who started the virus and can go back anytime and fix it, what movie did you watch? "jones is my name, Im in insurance🤣🤣🤣
That's why I'm not a fan of such time cycle movies where it's the same thing happening again. Those like groundhog day, Edge of Tomorrow etc those are much more interesting to watch.
@@patrickjeffers7864 from all the tv shows going on it ended very well storywise. wasnt rushed. but it had to be rewatched twice or more to see how it folds together.
@@tomast9034 if I have to re-watch something twice or more then it didn't accomplish its goal. There're movies I've watched over and over but that's because I was thoroughly entertained plus they were great: terminator 1&2(pass on the others), scarface, godfather etc etc. I treat 12 monkeys like GoT; great opening, eh ending
It's a bit of a schlocky romp but damn if it didn't have one of the most satisfying endings out there, especially so for sci-fi and time travel stories.
I've seen the movie. Bruce Willis did his usual great acting job, but even that wasn't enough to save an absolutely awful movie. The same thing happened with Soylent Green. Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, and most of the other actors did a great job, but again, that wasn't enough to save a terrible movie.
Terry Gilliam movies always hit different. Watch 'Brazil' if you liked this one. Even his animations when he was with Monty Python were incredible. Gilliam is one of my favourite film makers. He's a genuine talent, but probably won't make any more films seeing as he's 84 now. Apparently, he got a tour of the remake of his Time Bandits film.....he was not happy at what Taika Waititi did to it (Taika Waititi is the ultimate Hollywood woke DEI poster child....and all his movies suck except for JoJo Rabbit)
Yeah, Terry Gilliam's worst movie. Can't hold a candle to the original it is ripped of and expanded on: "La Jetée" (1962) which is an masterpiece of French cinema.
