Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching. Today we have quite to weird, odd, whatever you want to call it, situation We are called to recover an abandoned Lincoln Navigator. Abandoned vehicles are common, but the location and situation are what are so strange about this job. A nice looking SUV is left in a ditch on a dead end road with the keys in it. There is nobody around the vehicle and the registered owner can't be reached. It may not look like it, but this is a pretty hefty pull for the winch on the our Peterbilt 337 with a Miller Industries, Century LCG-12. Thankfully, there is no traffic whizzing by and we have time to think about the job as well as have a little fun with some of the guys at the same time. Oh, and Ethan gets to sign his first official tow sheet!!! I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

Good morning RU-vid Land. First I want to offer a gracious thanks to all who watch my husband's videos that now contain lots of on the job training for the new generation. What I want to offer are some insights into what is happening and some questions you may have posed.....of course this is from a wife and mother's perspective so be aware. Our son, Ethan and his friend Gavon went to a technical college and are back learning their trade from Ron. There are many things that a technical college with outdated equipment and less enthusiastic trainers could not offer, but Ron could. These young men are 19 and working at learning. The commentary has.mostly been positive, but I believe that some are extremely harsh. Yes they are rookies, yes they have much to learn and NO they are not on someone's sofa.playing video games. With experience, training and maturity these young men will be some of the best. They are often compared to Ron and that is incredibly lopsided as he has had more than 30 years in the industry. When adults are so critical of a younger generation, that will NOT produce positive change. Each individual in the workforce had a starting point. Remember when it was you? I do understand safety concerns and these will always be addressed. Please understand, these 19 year Olds are working toward CDL endorsements for Hazardous Material transport and handling as well as working when help is nearly impossible to find. Be uplifting with your constructive commentary rather than working to deflate someone who is learning. I hope most understand this is not directed at them, but at the haters and joy stealers. Thank you to those who are positive and continue to support this journey. Much love to you and God bless.

Great message! You should be proud of Ethan and Gavon because a fancy 2-4 year college degree isn’t really useful to learn the business skills for your company! There’s plenty of well paying jobs that require OJT as the primary method of education. Better to spend that time working with an experienced driver like Ron than sitting in class learning things that have no use in the real work world for your industry. Yes, maybe classes like physics, technical writing, accounting, etc would be useful but there are plenty of classes one takes at a regular college or university that have zero use in that job. I have a friend who’s daughter has a master’s degree in international studies (whatever that is!) and she’s now working in a bakery and doing house staging for homes being sold. Personally, I only got a AS degree in computer science in 1978 but knew more how to program than most of the folks with BS degrees! Keep up the great work!

The younger guys are doing a great job. Ron is a good teacher. The best way to learn is on the job training. And to Mom Pratt - thanks for standing up for your guys! What you said was very well put! We enjoy watching these videos. It's amazing how Ron can figure out how to hook things up so the cable will pull in a certain direction. And he's very patient with all his crew. God bless all of you and keep you safe.

I miss that--- I can go backward better than I can go forward a LOT.. especially towing-- loved it. I've tried recently- since I'm now "one eye"- and can't do it any more. So not only can I not do the work because of physical injuries compounded by age- but can't see well (depth perception and peripheral vision shot).. OH well. I'm official retirement age in april.. although I was forced to retire 4 years ago.

Awesome use of the endless I only carry one but great use, what won this is the neutral override. Some small hints we had allot of hands on this one I am giving my ideas as we all have them. Alone I would angle my bed to the rear drivers side tire. Next hook the far side mini J not inner with a snatch on the line for adjustments. Get tension and override if possible if not go right to trans and do it there. Start pulling use snatch if needed generally will take a few minutes extra but your alone. Once everything is pulling semi straight connect second mini and finish pull
