Hope everyone enjoyed the breakdown. So with the lightning effects it could actually be linked to the combo meter. When it starts flashing it changes to orange and that runs inline with it changing when hit. I'll update this comment if i get confirmation before the release of the DLC

Thanks for the kind words. Raph has always been my main but damn Karai looks so badass and fun to play she might be my new main as well. She's 100% the first outta her and Usagi that I'll be using for Survival

The "Tournament fighters pedigree" means her version of that game (the snes version) heavily influenced her combat design, for example her air super is actually reference to her most broken air attack in TF, also the theme of lighting attacks is a reference to her super move Dark Lightning (is worth mentioning both her and Shredder have electric super moves in that game).

Renet might be a tough sell as she’s not quite in this range of being part of this era TMNT being part of the 2003 era… even Karai here is pretty much because of her SNES Tournament fighters role as the final boss in that game…. What would be cool would 2003 tmnt getting a proper arcade beat ‘em up with the gritty nature of that era

I've been enjoying the hell out of Karai. Been requesting her since we saw Casey in the trailer. Karai's Raising Attack is Juri's Pinwheel special (Tensenrin) from Sf6. Which is so sick since April does Chun-li's Up Kicks (Tenshokyaku)

@@ShiningPhoenixGaming Makes her faster. Activates on that lightning flash. about 12 hits?? and i believe around the same amount she'll go into her max boost mode and will be again a bit faster. That's all i know from playing lol. Her run animations change as a more obvious indicator.

I think her creation was inspired by a character in the 87 series called The Lotus, who was a female ninja who Leonardo had a crush on

Just assumed the reason she was in the game was because of the dimension hopping thing The first two dimensions you go to are edo and mirage, Usagi is obviously from edo, and then Karai is from mirage At least I just figured this was meant to be specifically her mirage incarnation (hence why she calls herself the true leader of the foot, which she is in the comics) and not a hypothetical 87 version of her
