I concur this guy is my go to for learning this game. The rule book is a little scatter brained, and the way he does these videos actually makes you able to see how everything leads into into the next thing

I really want to get into this game, I bought the game and the character’s expansion (on their way) I would like to eventually get all the expansions and bosses. Do you have any tips on which one to get first, or a recommendation? Would really appreciate it!
I think Darkroot and Iron Keep harder enemies are very welcome, especially on main boss runs or in longer campaigns as the base game enemies do get a bit easy. Especially in true solo when you can kite a lot of them.
Hello friend i just get the iron keep the explorers and the phantoms expansion, I just have 1 mega boss, got the dark root and the characters expansion , so at your experience what house rules are good to use with all this content (I like the original rules , even the dificult when comes to equipment )
Love ya work mate and would watch any other solo play throughs! I got my set coming in the mail as we speak, although I do have a question. I’ve heard about the various holes in the game which some would implement house rules. I know you love the rules but if you could suggest any house rules to apply to make life a bit simpler/better for people that don’t want that complete hardcore experience what would they be? Cheers!
I dont love the rules per say, I just like playing games the way they were intended to be played (with all their flaws unfortunately), but if I were to change rules around, I would've designed the treasure deck to be smaller or better organized, make it so that weapons could be upgraded multiple times after putting in one a gem/shard (so you can have a blessed +5 weapon or titanite +10) , and make the campaign sell-back unwanted equip mechanic doable and higher level up requirements standard in non-campaign sessions as well. I enjoy trying to make the best out of the cards you are dealt with in the game, but more player choice in how you decide to build your character would really boost the playability in my opinion
This might go long, but whatever, just thoughts that came to mind while watching. First off, agree somewhat on the Crystal Lizard/Titanite Scales. Maybe they shouldn't take an upgrade slot and/or could even be slapped on a weapon with no upgrade slots (say offensive spells). However, although they are somewhat rare (Lizards that is), that might make Scales too strong, turning an already easy game even easier. Secondly, I think I would rather pick solo Herald than solo Assassin to be honest. While I have played both several times, more often than not, Assassin ends up slapping on heavy armour and never using his Heroic Ability (so basically just another character that could be anyone), while in contrast, not a run goes by without the Herald using his Heroic every time. Additionally, nobody can match the Herald in stamina recovery. If there are no ranged threats out there, put Talisman into other hand and go to work. Even with starting gear, Spear heavy attack for 3 stamina, pop Talisman for 3 stamina to recover 6 stamina (so clear all), additionally, you can move free + two nodes (2 stamina) and still have a clear endurance bar at the start of your next turn! You basically have 5 stamina to spend every turn as you please and still start your next turn with a clear endurance bar. If that wasn't enough, he brings with him arguably the best class treasure card, Tiny Being's Ring (start of your turn, recover 2 stamina or 1 stam and 1 health) and it's not even a transposed class treasure, just a regular you can draw even before the mini boss! Thirdly, you sounded a bit iffy on the potential of solo Sorcerer. Having played him several times already (as he was available as print and play well before Wave 3 hit), if anything, I would say solo Sorcerer tends to be EZ mode. Three range magic attack as starting weapon just wrecks early encounters like nothing. He just needs to don some better armour, his starting Catalyst can easily carry him through a mini boss (esp. say Winged Knight who is 3/1, far weaker against magic), some main bosses and even a mega boss like Gaping Dragon (who only has 2 resistance). With three range, he can outrange any non-ranged threat and thanks to magic attack, kill most ranged threats easily. I would say Sorcerer might lack the upper echelon damage potential of others, but he reaches his damage ceiling much faster and with less stat requirements (depending on draws of course, but he can level Int to Tier 1 and use Fireball/Soul Arrow). He also rarely needs to put himself at risk of getting hit, just create spacing and poke away (especially in solo). Also his Heroic Ability can be used for some funny combos, since it only requires a magic attack to be used. Have a 0-range one handed magic attack weapon? Pop Heroic and now it has infinite range for one attack. Fireball's 2-range annoying? Boom, infinite range. Many of these also apply to the Pyromancer, who starts with a 2-range, magic Cleave attack.
Rauli Kettunen that’s a pretty good explanation. I haven’t had the time yet to really dive into all the new content since I didn’t do any of the print and play, but I’ll believe it. I also wish the lizards were a +1 without taking up a slot, sure it makes the game easier, but it’s hard to be able to churn out 3 damage attacks early consistently (without forcing a build or using a lot of stamina) but I haven’t even looked at how the iron keep encounters work. Appreciate the input though, I hope you’ll stay tuned when I do some actual gameplay and maybe you can give some advice if you see me struggle.
Rauli Kettunen , OK, apparently you think this game is "easy"... Let me put it this way, the Iron Keep and Darkroot Basin expansions up the difficulty of the game. Then you have the Mimics and the Invaders, which give you a bit of a problem. Not sure how you see the game as "being easy".
@@quickstrike7777 Pyromancy Flame (one of his starting cards), 4-cost attack: 2 black dice + magic + cleave, so no clue why you're saying he doesn't have a magic cleave attack. As to the game being too easy, one loss (running out of sparks without defeating the boss) in 60+ plays qualifies the game as easy in my book. And I have everything released so far. Only loss came against O&S after failing a 4-dice dodge w Luck token when needing just a single success. Darkroot Basin adds early game difficulty, but its lvl 2 and 3 encounters (and lvl4 for mega bosses) are easier than for example base ones (since they have no Sentinels for one), even if Stone Knights do have magic attack (but range 0). Mimics only pack physical attacks, which are far easier to find defense against than magic attacks. Invaders are hit and miss, I have drawn an Invader on the first tile with just starting Warrior gear (poor draw apart from Ember), had to burn all my resources, but managed to defeat it. Haven't seen too many Iron Keep encounters yet, but only the Captains are really noteworthy, again, due to their magic attack.

I bought the original game some month ago, and i really can't afford the expansion without knowing if i like them or not, Is it too much to ask you a photo of the cards and the sheet of the new characters? I know is a lot but you can set up multiple cards and make it through with a couple photos.. It would be a Great help... Thanks for your attention
I make them myself with foam core. I have a very basic tutorial on my channel showing how to make a simple one to hold cards. cheap, easy to make, and sturdy stuff!

Kudos on stating the developers fix their own game. They'd have been better off introducing a 'BETTER TREASURE DECK' since you do not know what will be drawn. Too much emphasis on the knight being a 'GREAT' option. It's board is crap, the warrior herald and cleric can use all the gear it can with lesser stat tiers, yes they do bring their own specific treasures to the game and the knight is only good at maxed stats. ( EVERYONE IS GOOD AT MAXED STATS ) making the knight's board a poor choice to even consider. The sorcerer and thief are better boards than the assassin and pyro. With the exception of class specific treasures 23 int is all you need to cast any spell in the game. For whatever reason 1 effigy shield, it is so important for the thief to use a two handed weapon and a shield but not the warrior or knight, SO important that the thief has 2 of these in it's class specific added treasures. the cleric and herald can use the effigy shield right off the bat. The warrior and knight need to tick a tier in faith to use it. The deprived is has 100% crap treasures, just use it's starting gear do not even bother putting any of it's treasures in the deck. No spells can be upgraded such as the weapons, hell they do not even have a extra 1 black die for magic resistance on them, there is hardly balance. The herald can heal considerable stamina helping your mage BOOM twice, something a cleric can not do. It is as if they were not even trying with theses NEW characters. HOWEVER it does make the game that much more difficult for those that wanted MORE of a challenge. When I make it to the first mini boss without dying once I actually believe i played it wrong. FOR THE FUTURE, add just ONE of each die to the expansions then the price payed for the crap fans are swallowing would feel a tid bit better. For all Unboxer vids, it seems you guys are sooooo consumed with the figurines and less concerned about the game itself. You do not even disclose how many treasure cards are added to these expansions (do not have to tell us what they are just how many would be nice) maybe a mention of how many level 4 encounters if any, (Just look at the figurines). DO BETTER. ( someone had to say it )
