And a FACTORY warranty. That is the route I went. VERY happy six months and 6k miles into the journey. Five Moab Jeep BoH badges since. No problems to report.
@@dudestoked SRT HEMI 6.4L with a manual transmission with Jeep's normal 2H-4H-N-4L transfer case so you can put it into 2H. The 392 comes with full-time 'Auto' 4WD so there is currently no way to select 2H at the transfer case. All it would need then is a Launch Mode button built into a better set of paddle shifters on the steering column.
This is interesting to see. Most Jeep owners are all too ready to throw lifts and big tires on their rigs, but almost no one talks about strengthening the knuckles, lengthening the sway bar links, or any of the other half dozen adaptations Jeep did for this package from the factory. It makes me wonder, at least from an engineering perspective, how much stress people are putting on other parts of their Jeeps without realizing it when they do these big tire and lift kits.
Awesome walk around! I just ordered Zynith silver xtreme recon rubicon yesterday. I can't wait for it to get here! Thanks for all your videos. They really helped in my decisions and build.
@@LaneMcCall oh my goodness! That is horrible. Has your dealer tried contacting someone? There has to be a reason for taking that long. That seems like a really long time.
The front axle tubes are also thicker then the standard D44 housing. Apparently it’s the Mojave/392 housing. Hence GVW is also bumped up from 5800# to 6100#.
Recon extreme package is more suitable than the 392 in my case. With its steel bumpers, installed a 10k lbs warn winch, a pair of bj LP pro 6 lights on the bumpers, swap the factory fog lamp with the S1 led spot, an A-pillars S2 pro amber lights, rhino roof racks with couple of chase lights, auxiliary lights for reverse, genesis dual battery system, 60% seats delete with goose gear, Redarc bcdc 1250d with 120 ah battery with remote display screen, Arb cargo drawer system with sleek telescopic slide(aluminium for light weight), wholsale Rtt, batwing awnings, gullwings on the back widows etc. Suspension and tyres after all above are installed. To buy it once and buy it right.
You forgot an Ursa Minor top,, most of what you mentioned at the top will do it for me,, been waiting for the ER since December and at the same time ordered the UM.
@@azcojpg When you get the UM please let me know the functionality and how practical it is for you. I'm a license hunter of danger animals (carnivorous, herbivores or omnivores) as long as it's a threat to people. Most of the danger animals are either injured or been shot at but survived. Sometimes got to roll without RTT, drawer system etc. Depends on the location, terrain and the animal I've got to take down. I don't deal with reptiles(swamp python) only mammals.
Appreciate the up close view of the nuts and bolts of the XR package. A couple other items I've heard mentioned, but haven't seen/confirmed (or can't be seen) are vacuum booster on master cylinder, heavy duty steering gear box, steering pump calibration, speedo calibration to tires, heavy duty version of Dana 44 front axle, heavy duty front diff housing. On a side note, I wonder what the TPMS is set to for recommended pressure in the 35" K02's?
Cool to see all the upgrades. I was behind one on the trail a few weeks ago and was surprised the extreme recon didn’t come with the Fox shocks that the 2” mopar lift comes with, but great value overall. Wish they sold the 4xe Rubicon with an extreme recon option.
Excellent!!! I love undercarriage lift reviews. The Xtreme Recon package really takes the Wrangler to another level. It kicks the aftermarket suspension companies where it hurts. Your video informed me that buyers are getting stronger steel knuckles when ordering $4k XR package. This package has been unavailable on the 392 edition for the past two months.
The wheels are actually 17x8” not 8.5” (it would be better if they were 8.5-9” wide in my opinion). The 315/70/17 tire is a nice size choice because it comes in a load C rating for more comfort.
I retire in two years and I'm playing with the idea of getting a jeep I'm old enough to remember duel exhaust helps the engine breathe and gets better mileage would love to see you do a video own duel exhaust
You forgot that the front axle housing is thicker than the regular rubicon. Also, the xr package is available with 4.88 gearing with the manual transmission. The wheels are 8.0" wide and not 8.5".
I don't believe the XR package is available with the manual. The 4.88s are a standalone option. I do hope Jeep eventually does allow ordering the XR with the 6 speed.
I contacted FCA about that because I wanted to reorder my pending arrival 392 in Gobi. But, the XR won’t be available for the remainder of the 392’s 2022 production year.
Is it possible to Order a 392 in Yellow and Right hand drive for the UK ? Is it possible to Order the 2.0 l petrol in Yellow RHD for the UK ? Is it possible to order a 3.0 + Diesel RHD in Yellow for the UK ?@@SusquehannaAutomotive
Mr. Mohl, Outstanding review! 2 quick questions specific to the Xtreme Recon Package: 1.) any third brake light relocation options/updates since this April walkaround? 2.) are Diff Breather Tubes factory-extended to accommodate for deeper water fording allowed by the factory lift? Thanks!
Any idea HOW to actually get those fender flare extensions off? People seem to be cutting them off rather than drilling them. 🤔 I definitely don't want to do that, but I can't get them off. Any insight? I'm new to this, so mentioning specific tools would be great. LOL
My wife just picked one up this past weekend. We were made aware of something called ducking, by the dealer. Where someone may leave a duck on the hood? Is there any truth to this? If we do receive one do we pay it forward and give another jeep a duck and keep a pack of ducks in the glove compartment lol. All jokes aside this thing is awesome! They are so much fun to drive! I wish i could trade my ram in and get one myself but we need at least one practical vehicle for our Rugrat. So far this thing is worth every penny.
Ducking is definitely a real thing! Its new and its the process of leaving one on another jeep to let you know your jeep community saw you! I don't believe you have to pay them forward but you can!
If it's not too much of a heavy lift, can you/your parts professional post the part numbers? As you know (from a previous video you posted) mother MOPAR is no longer offering the XR package, at least for the 392 Rubicon. We've got a 392 on order, but really wanted the XR with it, but missed the cut off by 4 days. I've already sourced/have wheels and flares for our anticipated 04/14 to be built 392. But would also like to source some of the other pertinent parts that you would recommend for running the 35's. Some of the items you mentioned were: -Tail light extensions -Rear camera extension -Steel bump stop (to prevent tires slamming fender) -4:56 front and rear axle ratio -Sway Bar links -Calipers/brakes -Rubicon Shock -Steel axle knuckle
This is a great and comprehensive video! Can you help reccomend the best way to do an aftermarket Xtreme Recon build? I have a 2020 JLU Rubicon and want to do 1.5" lift / 315s to get a similar look. Do you guys do builids? Thanks!
Yes we do full builds, we just completed a mopar 2" lift with 315/70/17 for a customer and it turned out awesome! Shoot me an email at mattm@susqauto.com for more info!
How come this extreme recon package is nowhere to be found on the Jeep website? Also, can you get this 35 inch recon package with a manual transmission?
I ordered my Rubicon XR about two weeks ago. She will be a 2023. I’m hearing that the XR packages will be unavailable in the 2022 models for the remainder of their production year.
My 392 XR, actually comes with "Fox high-pressure gas monotube shocks are appropriately tuned to control the heavier rubber." not traditional red rubicon shocks. Also just heard that MOPAR has removed XR as an option last month?
Excellent ! I really liked your video. I ordered a Rubicon with the Xtreme Recon package in early January and I hesitated to buy the package or not. After watching your video I am happy I did, because it explains very well what is included. I have not received my Jeep yet, it is taking longer than usual, I guess in part because of the XR package, but hopefully I will get it within the next two weeks.
Hey! Thanks for this detailed reviewed! I heard you mentioned LSD in the rear (for the Non-Rubicons), but is it really and LSD? Or a "brake-lock" style rear diff?
@@geographyinaction7814 Go look at the Canada Auto Trader !! It will not allow me to post links to the Vehicles in here for some reason ? I'm not lying here !! A 392 Jeep has actually come down in price to $129K but your also subject to a new %20 Luxury Tax on anything over $100K now and %13 HST ...Your north of $140K out the door !!
So there is a thread on the 392 Rubicon form that notes the brakes for the XR package are the same as the Non XR. In the video you observe them as upgraded. Is there anyway to verify that? THX
Are you able to install something like a teraflex 1.5” performance spacer leveling kit on the rubicon with the xtreme package? Just to even out the rake and gain just a tad bit more clearance, without having geometry issues or some other type of issue?
Are the axel shafts beefier than the normal Rubicon axels? I thought I heard somewhere that the axels and a few other components are beefed up on the XR from the regular Rubicon.
i have the rubicon xtreme... in what way is that different from the recon extreme? I think just the 4.10 gears and other interior stuff... but no one seems to know if its the same lift, brakes, etc. can you help?
Can you please give us the difference in the RUBICON with the Xtreme Recon Package vs. The HIGHLANDER? I ask a guy who has a HIGHLANDER, He said He did not like it because it was too Wobbly… So, It makes me wonder did Jeep just Slap the Appearance Package on the trim with base axles, smaller brakes, etc.
I just bought a 2018 recon but the dealership won't disclose if parts are original can I take it to mechanic to look it over ? Could he tell if any aftermarket parts were installed??
Should do away with axle disconnect and 2 piece shaft. Weak point. Swap out the standard axles for chromoly and put freewheeling hubs in the front. Also, what's the upgrade price for this upgrade? How about an air compressor as part of the package.
is the front track bar axle bracket in the same location. or is that raised as well from a standard jeep. i have an etreme recon jeep and was thinking about putting on a 2.5 lifted tereflex bracket with the factory suspension
I just bought a High-Tide and it has the Extreme Recon package. Can I move to a larger tire in the future without lots of other work in the suspension? I'm thinking 37", but not sure if that will work.
In the 2022 High Tide, what kind of axles does it have? I saw a break down where the claim the Extreme Recon package came with 3rd generation Heavy Duty Dana 44 front & rear axles, but the description for the High Tide shows Dana wide track axles. Which come on the High Tide since it has the Extreme Recon package?
If you go onto Jeeps website, they say the Extreme package comes with "3rd Generation Heavy-Duty Dana® 44 Front Axle" what's the difference in that vs the regular 44 front axle that comes with the Rubicons?
Nvm, juat looked it up. Regular rubicons get djf model axle. Extreme recon gets djv axle. DjV is heavy duty and thicker tubing etc. So the whole front axle is different, I'm assuming.
Surprised that it didn't have ' under armor. I got a 2021 rubicon and it has under armor , I dont know if the dealer added or or if it came like that from factory
Does the Xtreme Recon Rubicon come with the LED light package and Steel Bumpers as Stock or do you have to add them, I've had two different answers from my local dealers. Thanks
Are these parts interchangeable on any other vehicle? What I mean is....when I co to replace brakes and rotors, are they going to be an impossible to find one-off part?
