I always want to feel like I’m driving in heavy winds, please advise. This is a great video, massively informative and rich with real life applications for the Jeep. Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks Tim! Not trying to be biased, but I really think Firecracker is the color to have, especially for a 392. The red goes great with the bronze accents and the bigger tires, fender trim, etc add a lot of contrast as well. I always wanted a yellow Jeep so I ordered a High Velocity 392 as soon as it was announced. It showed up as a 2023 a month or so ago. When I put it next to firecracker, I couldnt let go of the red, its just too perfect for the 392.
Great video! I absolutely agree that RK makes a great suspension system! I went with the 3.5 XFactor and love it. I decided to try their shocks and was a bit disappointed in the RRD shocks. Ran great on the street but I took them on a honestly a hard off road trip and they were never the same. Came home and they were SUPER SOFT hitting the bump stops constantly. Went back to Fox and couldn’t be happier! Their suspensions are top notch but their shocks didn’t work for me. Looking forward to seeing if your experience is better
Great feedback, thank you! I have not had a chance to off road the new suspension and stretch it out yet, but I'll keep you posted how it goes with the shocks. How long ago did you run the RRD shocks?
How to drive in heavy winds: Any vehicle will work but a Jeep on the trail is especially suitable. Buy a big bag of pork rinds (Chicharrón) at a local 7-Eleven. Load up on their counter nacho cheese topping; be sure to grab some jalapenos and onions as a topping. Make sure you grab some premium Guinness Stout to go along with your feast. And for "Le Dessert" I recommend popcorn and a couple of Slim-Jims with a chocolate milk aperitif.
Triangulate the upper suspension linkage, to eliminate the trouble-prone trackbars. Try some in-coil supplemental airbags if you're towing/hauling heavy. They can avoid sag/squat without hampering ride or articulation.
Your jeep looks awesome👍 and the shop you have with the jeep sitting there seems to make it perfect, I get my 392 in less than a week it should be here and I’m definitely going with Rockrawler, I’ve use them for my last four jeeps and I do feel their product is one of the best on the market, the triple rate springs work awesome, I like that you kept the stock wheels, those look great & out of all the vehicles on your floor I like the jeep the best kudos to you👍
Thank you Jon! I think the firecracker red makes the Jeep pop like crazy in the shop. I'll have supercars in the shop and some people walk in and go straight to the Jeep lol. Appreciate the feedback and wish you a Happy New Year my friend 🎉🎉🎉
I think the two best colors on the jeep are red and white you have a red one and I have a white one mine just showed up last night was delivered off the truck, even stock the 392 looks awesome, thanks for your message buddy and happy holidays/happy New Year’s to you. You have the coolest looking shop. 👍
Im a little late to the game but I just picked up my 392 Wrangler and the Hype is real - How is the lift kit holding up after a year - any strange noises etc? Is the stance still balanced.. Great videos
@@StudioMotors like I always do , BLACK lol. I'm not much into colors, unless something catches my eye spectacularly. I didn't know it's gonna take this long. Could be the Sky one touch and half doors premium or everything could be a factor. Maybe my fault, I checked all possible options available. Nice video brother, keep it up.
Just like you said, the past and present of jeeps research and torcher torching their own parts, actions and performance will always talk the talk, that means they can also walk the walk, As in a chess game, I think they call that Check MATE, pure victory,
You look like youre in cali. Wish I was out there. I would certainly pay you to fix my JT. I'm a year in and still can get this ride right or the wobble.
Try calling Rock Krawler and go over the issues you are having with the JT. They can give you some solid advice and guidance. Definitely worth the call. Good luck DC!
YOU HAVE EXCEDED THE C.V JOINT ANGLE . IT WILL COME APART . NEED TO MODIFY TO A DOUBLE CARDON TYPE SHAFT . I AM A 43 YEAR JEEP DEALERSHIP MECH. WITH 25 YEARS @ THE BIG BEAR JEEP JAMBOREE
can you give me the exact lift you got on yours. i have a 22 392 37 inch tires no winch stock bumpers with a full size spare. don't mind the rake and hardly ever go off road. i would like to add about 1 to 2 inches so a 3.5 lift should be good. sounds like you like your setup and would like to get the exact setup. i see many options on there web site. what model lift and mid or long arm. i drive almost all highway and want the best handling lift i can get for that purpose.
@@StudioMotors 🤣Hey Dave, don't remember if I told you, I took delivery of my 392XR in Oct. Just like you said, it's the best driving Jeep ever. Very confident driving this monster. Getting ready to put on 37's you recommended. Have a Merry Christmas my brother.
Right on man that’s so awesome! The power finally fits the vehicle. Shoot some pics over on IG @studiomotors Merry Christmas to you and your loved once as well, god bless! 🎄🎄🎄
Did you upgrade axles on the Red Rubicon to use larger tires and rims? I'm asking because am planning on upgrading and modifying a 392 Rubicon. Also, what size tires/rims and brand names?
Hey does the red Rubicon 392 have heavier axles installed to accommodate the larger rims and tires? I want bigger than 37" tires so am willing to spend the coin to upgrade to beefier axles.
..... great looking 392... I would like to know what the complete "kit" number was for the Rock Krawler lift? (or a breakdown list of all parts with part numbers for more detail of all components)
Thank you! Here is a direct link to the 392 lift. Keep in mind this a true 2.5 inches over the existing height of the 392 Xtreme Recon rockkrawler.com/jlu-2-5-inch-ultimate-adventure-system-392-s1/
Thank you! Yes, they do hum but not because they are bigger, but because its a mud terrain tire. Way less contact patch so you get some noise at higher speeds. With that said, I only hear it when the performance exhaust is off which isn't very common haha
Awesome and very informative video. Can you send the link to the one you are recommending. I see on their site that they have a ton of options for the 392.
So... please somebody enlighten me, why is it so important to use this lift kit on an Xtreme Recon edition, if you change the majority of the stuff. Why not apply this kit on a "normal" 392 and win the money (of course investing into the kit).
Xtreme Recon is not any higher than a normal 392. Using this kit on either one yields the same results. Xtreme Recon just uses a different in house made shock compared to the non-XR which uses a custom Fox setup.
I wouldn't say "softer" but it is smoother, yet tighter and more composed. For example, when you are driving straight in the 392, its smoother than the stock suspension. When you go to take a corner or make a turn, it dosnt have the tilting or swaying a softer setup would have. It takes corners like a champ, the handling is 100% better. So its smoother, but its tighter when you need it. I think that's what really got me on this setup is that it didnt compromise smoothness and a plush ride to handle better, especially now that its higher. Overall, everything seems so much tighter and better balanced than stock which is saying a lot because it's on 37 inch tires and 2.5 inches higher.
We don't do installations in house, we're a speciality vehicle dealership/brokerage. If you are in LA, I can refer you to a solid shop in Burbank or Sherman Oaks.
IF and it seems to be a BIG IF I can find a 392 without special ordering I will buy one. SO this was of intereest. HOWEVER ,,, did you exaggerate some? Maybe only 9.5 better not a full 10 times?
whats up brother, i have a 392 xtreme recon also and i came by to your shop to see what i can do with mine, but doors were closed and i cant find a phone number to make appointment. thanks
Really sucks that we missed you man, would love to help you build out your 392 XR. Shoot me an email and I’ll reply with my personal number “info AT studiomotors.com
What used to be a vehicle for the middle class is now the rich man's! It's absolutely insane! This ISN'T a luxury vehicle. It's not a Lexus or Mercedes Benz but an effing JEEP! TOTAL GREED on the part of the manufacturer AND the dealerships!
You should of checked out Rusty's 3.75" lift, and went with the Falcons 3.3, I guarantee there is NO competition in what you got. I will give it to you though, for people uninformed, you a damn good salesman. 🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂 Great looking jeep though
Ran a set of Falcon 3.3s on a JK, does not have anywhere near the same amount of travel and can't hold a candle to the RRD Fluted Aluminum shocks. I will tell you tho, the revised reservoir setup on the Falcons had me sold. I thought these were going to be the best riding shocks I ever felt because of the reservoir being built into the shock instead of being an external unit. I'm not here to bash on Teraflex but come on buddy, I've been there, done that, ain't doing it again.
@@StudioMotors to each their own I guess, I mean how much FLEX do us normal people need?? I mean not being blown all over in crosswinds, taking corners without body roll, and great shocks all around, you cannot beat the 3.3, plus they ARE NOT built for long travel, ANY shock that is is NOT going to have the cornering ability nor crosswind stability, there is to much travel, there are things you've gained with long travel shocks if you do rock crawling etc, but for 98%of people that will never be the case, that's like telling someone with a Dana 44 they cannot run 40" tires to buy Dana 60s, that's just straight out lies and marketing hype. I've got a 21 382 Rubicon now, and in about 2 weeks my 23 392 Extreme Recon will be delivered, and everything that I mentioned before will be going on that jeep. There are pros and cons to everything, nice jeep though, I like the build and progress and color 👍👍
I agree with the other subscrihers another well done video. However, I must ask you if youre doing this upgrade doesnt it defeat the purpose of adding the XR package? Im confused I already bought the bar...lol if I keep going at this rate I'll never be finished and Ill be thinking I wish I had done Americas Most Wanted. I think thats the company that does the hellcat jeeps :). Just want your thoughts your videos deserve respect but we need one to save money within the confines of the package we have...what do you think?
Man I love the feedback! the XR package is IDEAL for a Jeep you can buy that's modified just right from the factory and you don't have to touch anything. But personally, I knew the lift and wheel size was not going to be enough from the get go and that I would lift it even more and run a bigger tire. The only regret I have right now is going with 37 inch tires instead of 38s. 37s were a perfect fit for the JK but to me, it seems like they don't fill the JL as well as a 38 inch does. If you don't need the higher clearance or bigger tire, the XR is perfect the way it is, keep it like that. It can do SO MUCH the way it is. Nothing better than the 392 installed from the factory, so please don't regret what an awesome Jeep you have. I'm digging through a lot of different products, accessories, and upgrades. As I come across must have stuff I'll review them and keep you posted. Thank you for always watching!!
Love the overview and review. I have a 392 and was wondering if anyone knows with the 2 1/2 lift and 37" tires what's the final height of the Jeep, ground to top of roof? The overall new height is an important consideration if you keep it in a garage or ever need to park in an overhead public parking garage.
I’ve officially given up on Jeep and Stellantis. They simply don’t stand behind what they sell. My JL has corrosion on the hood and doors, a known issue. They refuse to fix it despite there being a corrosion warranty. Never again.
@@StudioMotors I've done some research, due to the high piston rings and low quality pistons, you can't really push more than 4-6 psi into the 6.4 without breaking a rod. After you put some nice forged pistons in, you can go crazy.
I have one and the first thing I did was debadge it and putting a fixed quiet muffler on it. It's way better than the 4.0 or 3.6 but embarrassing how obnoxious it is. The 392 rides way better than the other jeeps.
So the ride wasn't smooht with the oem springs to begin with??? I'm sure the stock springs weren't garbage so how much more smooth could it possibly be?? what? like a 2% better ride? which is negligable?? hmmm
We were not paid for the video, or to voice a certain opinion. This is my own opinion based on my experience with this kit. I have no issues pumping a company who genuinely puts this much effort in a product and delivers.
We were not paid for the video or to voice a certain opinion. This is my own opinion based on my experience with this kit. It’s just a very solid product from a company which I felt went above and beyond to deliver.
So basically what is this dude saying? That Jeep is charging you 85k for a trash jeep??? Manufacturings spend millions of developing their parts and to say their parts are night and day??? gtfoh..... If you are promoting parts for companies is one thing, but to trash jeep saying their parts are gargbage?? smh
