It's a nice saw, I have one, but it's lacking something a lot of people don't seem to be aware of. Being 1.75hp, it works much better with thin kerf blades BUT the riving knife that works with the guard does not come in a thin kerf version. That means when using thin kerf blades (practically a necessity with this saw) using the guard is pretty much impossible without constantly running into deflection pressures that make pushing hard / thick woods through easily.

Just finished unpacking my F2 and getting it set up. Very nearly true right from the factory! So far I'm really enjoying the stable power that it delivers. Mine came with an LED readout on the front that seems to measure blade tilt. Wish it could to be switched to blade height instead. That would be awesome.

My last saw was a Powermatic 2000. We sold the house and moved. I am currently "sawless", first time in 45 years. These Laguna saws look pretty sweet.

Very seriously considering purchasing this saw. The shop I buy my lumber usually has one in stock ready to go. I just don't have the cash this moment. I will just as soon as I finish a cabinet job I'm currently working on. I used my old crapman slotted aluminum and REALLY looking forward to ditching it in favor of a new saw..

I had a chance to look at the F2 at Rockler lately. I was impressed with the saw overall. However, when I was messing with the fence, I found it had a little movement when locked down at the back end. So I think it's bc the rubber feet is just riding on the surface of the back rail, that's the reason why. Any suggestions on that? I am in the market for a table saw.
@manofmystery5709
@manofmystery5709 Год назад
I use a mag lock to solve that. However, if I'm using a thin kerf blade and need to simultaneously use the guard (which only truly supports regular kerf blades) I don't use the mag lock and use the minor fence deflection to avoid pinch. The deflection doesn't seem to have any effect of cutting width at the cutting side of the blade so the deflection doesn't seem to hurt accuracy.

I am trying to determine if this saw will fit into a space in my garage while it is not in use. Can someone tell me what the width and depth dimensions are without the fence, i.e. table + fence rails but the rip fence itself removed? The Laguna F2 manual specs suggest the overall depth is 39.37 in. Reading further, it would seem that the table depth is 27 in, and the fence rail width is 2.92 (about 3 in). So would the depth be something like 27 + 3 = 30 or perhaps 27 + 3 + 3 = 33? Looks like the overall width is about 67 in. Thanks.

Hi all, I have a small Dewalt table saw and I am thinking to get a tablesaw F2 but the Dewalt looks more powerful and I will work with hardwood. My question is: can I have any problem? The F2 is plenty powerful to handle work with hardwood. I also watched one video on RU-vid about the guy showing a problem with the F2 fence. Is that true? Can I have any problem with the fence? I really like this brand and the machine, however, I don’t want to make mistakes. Someone, could you please help me? I also will get the laguna bandsaw. But the bandsaw I have no doubts. Thank you

There is only one thing that keeps me from getting the F2 right now - the fence. I am very partial to the Biesemeyer style fence. Can I get the Biesemeyer fence rather than the European? Thank you.

Hi there, I am in the market for a new saw and looking at the Laguna F2. I watched a few videos about them fence, and I am really concerned about the fence, there is no support on the other end of the fence, how much play is there, especially if you are cutting large boards the inaccuracy will exacerbate the problem. Whats your opinion.
@LagunaTools
@LagunaTools 2 года назад
The fence on the Fusion F2 consists of a square steel tube paired with an ALU extrusion. The steel tube is extremely rigid and has close to 0 flex. This design has been used in Europe for decades as it provides much more versatility than a standard fence since the ALU piece can both slide front to back and flip over.

I have a 3HP 220v early 1980's Rockwell Unisaw in really good condition, I'm strongly considering selling it for this saw (I can't afford the F3) for the dust collection, riving knife and fence design (I have a Delta T2 fence on mine, so it's not horrible), will someone either talk me in or out of this? I don't think I'll miss the extra horsepower, but I've long wanted a saw with a riving knife because I don't feel like a micro-splitter is enough protection. I like most of the features of this more than say a Grizzly, so I'm really considering it. I will definitely run it at 220v too. Does the measuring tape on the square bar work for both high and low fence mode?
@brewtalityk
@brewtalityk 3 года назад
Is that old one a true 3HP? For example, I have a craftsman 113 from 1991 that is labeled as a 3HP but it's really not. It doesn't draw enough current to be classified as 3HP. I'm excited to get the F2 but it looks like it wont be available until June :/

Based on this video and other positive comments, I went ahead and purchased the F2. I have not used it much yet, but I am very impressed with the quality of the product thus far. The tool storage on the side of the saw is very nice. I can see where to store the riving knife, but is there some way to store the blade guard when not in use? There are a couple of hooks in the side, but I cannot figure out what they are for and how they are used. I did not see anything in the owners manual about them.

How is the saw holding up?
@edl1957
@edl1957 3 года назад
@@Antweak83 The saw has been working fine thus far with moderate use. I have mainly used it to build cabinetry, and I regularly cut plywood, MDF, and some hardwoods with it. I have had no reliability or quality issues. The fence is really good; the table is flat and sturdy, and it has adequate power for my needs. I am a reasonably experienced DIYer. I really like this saw, and it has been one of the best purchases for my limited-space garage workshop.

@@edl1957 thanks Ed! Really helpful im looking at the saw stop contractors saw. This has been on the list as well. Everything is good about this saw except I hear dust control isn't th best
@edl1957
@edl1957 3 года назад
@@Antweak83 I do have some issues with dust control, but I have not really tried to pinpoint the cause. The saw's dust control system seems reasonably engineered and built so I am not sure that it is the only culprit. I use a medium-sized shop vac with a cyclone, and it could be a bit underpowered for this purpose. I also often use a zero-clearance throat plate, and that may contribute as well. Laguna does have a secondary dust collector on their blade guard which would probably help, but I do not use the guard (really cannot when using a cross-cut sled). So, there is a little more dust that I would like, but for me, it is manageable.
@martinoamello3017

@@edl1957 it can't possibly be any worse than my current old crapman saw. The dust collection right now is the broom and the floor. Very reliable, but no fun..

1 year and 3 months in the worm screw that adjusts your blade height has failed. The threaded end that a locking not goes on that allows it to raise and lower has failed. Not the nut, all the threads on the shaft have failed. Not sure how this is going to work out, but on their site it states the part is out of stock.

Why why why aluminum trunnions and not cast iron? If every other manufacturer who sales table saws in the $900-$1200 range (example Grizzly, Shop Fox, Delta, etc etc) can do cast iron trunnions then why would Laguna be cheap and use aluminum trunnions? I understand the F1 having possibly aluminum trunnions but the F2 seriously? I really like everything else here about the saw. I can deal with aluminum rails and fence but trunnions? And you went as far as to cabinet mount the trunnions but make them aluminum? Sorry I’m just seriously confused and bothered by this at the price this saw is.

Gary BAUMANN if you notice the fence will stay on the right hand side at all times due to the style of the fence you won’t be making cuts with the fence on the left hand side. That being said the price point on the saw is right in line with where it needs to be.

I prefer this european style fence. I have one on my 12" sliding table saw and it works awesome for making rip cuts that are 3" or less because it's much safer allowing more room for push sticks or fingers. (Also for cross cuts so the drop cut doesn't bind) It's great to see Laguna with their innovative approach that is setting their products apart from the other big brands... I'm glad i just noticed these new models, I think the F3 is on my radar now!
