Over the past 9 years I've lost track how many times I've come back to this video. It is In Flames at their absolute best they've been across the decades. Even without Jesper. The tightness on display here, playing an absolute classic, it's just a profound joy to behold!
Jesper is very overrated I feel like Bjorn doesn’t get enough credit and praise, which he absolutely should. He’s a master of melodies in metal and a phenomenal songwriter
That was sick. They always sound incredible when they play their old songs and it always looks like they get so much more energetic in terms of their stage performances. Look at the gigantic smile on Anders' face as he walks away after the song ends. It's the last thing the camera sees. Anders was PERFECT here, and so were the guitars. Sounded like Jesper was still on the stage with them.
I think this may be what the song I, the mask was about. They love their old style, but they feel forced to make more music of their newer style so they don’t alienate their newer fans. Or I’m completely misinterpreting it, that could be the case too lol
@@uranium54321 they still cherish their old music, but their audience is majority a bunch of people who like the newer material. When they play older stuff they don't get as much of a reaction and it makes them not want to play it. A lot of times when you hear them play an older song these days, Anders will go on a banter about whether or not the audience knows the album, and then says stuff like "remember to go home and listen to this every night" and stuff like that. I think when you get old, you just want to make different shit. Making the same thing is boring, but I wish they'd play classics more.
I will never forget this night, one of the best nights in my entire life! Finally I got to see my favorite band play a couple of meters away from me. IN FLAMES WE TRUST!
Christ... I remember when I saw In Flames upload this video to their Facebook and I was so excited because I haven't known them to play this song live for many years. I can't believe it's been over two years since I came across this. I need to go to their next performance in London and keep my fingers crossed that they take us down memory lane :)
Dude this gives me a newfound appreciation for some of the guitar parts that don't sound THIS good on the album. Maybe it's just the lead being more audible here
i saw them live in San antonio in 2012, they were so amazing, this was in the line up, i was so fucking drunk, but not drunk enough to where i would forget the epic moments, with lamb of god, sylosis, and hate breed along with in fucking flames the best damm band in this fucking world
On the original album, I misheard the opening line as “anime loving” On this live it sounds more “I admit nothing” which makes more sense I should look up the lyrics
What the hell?? Ander's brutal vocals better than EVER?? And a kickass performance by the whole band!! Damn, such a waste if they continue writting stuff like SOAPF...
I would like to see the new album be a mix of new and old, you know the similar style they did for A New Dawn. Something that revolves around past and present to really pull out the voice in the music and the music in the voice.
If they would not keep doing new stuff then they would get boring really fast. Im happy that They are evolving as a band. Sure i prefer their older stuff but i also think that if they kept doing only that i wouldnt like it as much.
