@@dougroberts9821 ??? girl for the longest time that WAS the standard marriage for christian society. it wasn't til the 1920s the idea of love and marriage got presented!
The emphasis on modesty, the long dresses, head coverings, etc. mixed with all the sex talk and making out in front of others, making kids watch parents screwing is conflicting to me.
Princess Fluffybottom: You're actually right. These people actually are behaving as Christians are expected to, according to the Bible. But the vast majority of Christians aren't Christian at all, they're really just people who are afraid of death and don't want to accept the fact that when we die, it's all over. Arguably still just as delusional as these lot at Gloriavale.
And then told they MUST have sex immediately afterwards. It's disgusting to think that someone could be so interested in another person's love life that they would try to have a say over when you have to have sex after you've married someone you barely know and don't even love yet. This cult leader is obviously obsessed with sex. And the way they hugged afterwards and were laying down and kissing while being carted away and everyone watched was just gross and bizarre! These poor people have no sense of self and are obviously lost. Too bad they don't understand the way God really works and that he would never expect this of them. This is definitely a perversion of God's love and teachings.
@Damien Lordi the girls are forcibly encouraged by the pressures of their society to appear happy and cheerful at all times. Obviously something you are unaware of about this sick cult.
@@mzmolly4898 I was just about to say that, I grew up with a guy that was twice my age at the time (he was 20) but he had the mentality of a 6 year old... I mean literally he played with dinosaur toys & cried when his mom said he couldn't play outside etc I cant imagine that people out there believe he was an adult just because his body was
It's not based on the Amish. It's just similar because blue is an apparently a godly colour and when woman are only allowed to wear full length dresses or skirts it all looks the same.
+Christopher “Chris” Martin The Amish have their problems too mate, like all religious fundamentalists. Theres a tendency towards sexual inequality, homophobia and quite frankly racism. Cultist across the board are generally uneducated as well, which is not the ideal. Not to say they're all bad people, more that cults are too good to be true, the books these people follow are out of date political propaganda, and complete nonsense.
+Lanafanafififopeper its not exactly proven what color her clothes were....its just what artists made it to be and became the popular accepted thing. blue in that time period would have been expensive dye for the rich....so I assume that's why they gave it to mary as a color to wear. but ill agree for this cult it may have something to do with that.
Well, so far they're the only ones that can give birth, so one of their unique qualities is childbirth. Do they have others, or once we accept that, are they simply diverse and valuable, as men are too? It doesn't amount to "women were made to make children", but you can see where the idea comes from!
Dion Lindsay They could have said that instead of their original statement. However, they are not allowing their women to work. One thing only to allow is giving birth which is where I am disagreeing.
Is he really dead? And what happened to his diabolic setup? It's disgusting to realize that this psychotic beast was left free to abuse so many innocent souls...may the Lord of Heaven and earth, give him what he deserves and do justice for the children at least!
The Christian church, with rules made up based on an old dusty book that they use to control people, tell them what to do and how to think? Sounds about the same, maybe just more intense then most sects of Christianity. Really no less so than hardcore Mormons or whatever. 🤷🏻♀️
I dissapoint you, there's no hell for this old man, he is just dead. He just leaved unhappy abbused children and there no justice in the world for them. He wasnt punished for his behaviour. Sad
The "Angel's of the children are the only ones allowed to look upon the face of God". So easy to comprehend (I would think), just how much they are treasured by God. Further more "they are given to us to raise but they belong to God."👍
I grew up in a sexual cult and was told I had to get married to this guy five years older than me at 16. When I turned 16, I ran and never looked back.
Tbh if you look back on history women got pregnant at 10-14 cause our lifespan was 30 so it is not dangerous, from the moment of getting your period you can get pregnant. It is not dangerous at all
@@miahall2363 Yes, it is. GIRLS that young still haven't fully developed enough to have children. Most girls that are pregnant at that age need to give birth via a c-section simply because their birth canals are not wide enough yet to deliver a child. It was (and probably still is) a problem in some African nations, where a man would take a child bride of 11 or 12 years old. Some died in child birth, others ended up with severe physical problems afterwards. If you look at most faiths in history, it was onset of a girl's period, plus two years. That gives the body more time to finish developing, as well as for the girl to finish maturing. Also, giving birth has historically been one of the most dangerous things a woman does. In previous centuries, it was the main cause of death of a woman. So, no, it IS dangerous for a 12 year old GIRL to get pregnant, and to give birth. At ANY point in history.
@@jdreu3283 I mean we are still here. She can give birth. As a woman i dont stop fully developing till I'm 22. Young people have given birth so young. Birth is dangerous at any age or stage. What else can a 12 year old girl do if shes pregnant I would never let my future daughter get an abortion. I would talk to doctors to make sure she has a c-section.
@@miahall2363 Try telling that to a girl that had a baby at 12 here and was so physically damaged that they aren't sure if she is able to have kids again. She almost died because her small body could not carry a baby. She got to 5 months and went into premature labor were she had to have an emergency C-section. The baby was still too big to pass her small body and then she almost bled out.
@@Fallenfromgrace1990 I can and I did twice. Two people I know have kids at 12. One was raped and she was forced to carry her baby into the world (thank you mama). She had more kids. Another one chose to have sex and wasnt very smart, she also have more kids. They can do it. They may need a c section but they can do it :)
Kauplup YEP! I laughed at that. He called it holy oil. I am watching this with my mother, she snort laughed, then said "Oh it's cold out Bun Bun. Don't forget to moisturize with the divine coconut oil that I put in your bathroom....fucking magic baby oil....I need to go sleep. This is next level stupid. " I'm glad someone else noticed the baby oil.
Yeah, and they're probably excommunicated outta there and shunned or stoned to death. I mean, if a woman can't bear children, she has no other purpose on this earth.
I live in New Zealand as a Christian, I had no idea that this was going on. It angers me deeply, something needs to be done to shut down cults like this where ever in the world.
A bunch of beautiful kids with sincere heart's but not old enough to understand what's happening to them. There really are a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing around the world. These kids will grow up in time... and God's not done with them yet.
ScottyScoper Christianity isn't about religion its about a relationship with God! They are not real Christians because they are not living how God tells us to in the Bible!!
While working for the dairy board I stayed here. After finishing the afternoon milking I was given a tour by an elder. I was gobsmacked that small children were working instead of playing, after tea I stepped outside the gate to have a cigerette, not wanting to offend anyone. With in seconds five men stepped out at me in the dark. They retreated when I identifyed myself. I got the creeps and felt positive leaving for anyone else was not an option
tee arryuuteeach What kind of life is that to live? Are they expected to lie in bed together? Should such a young person wed someone who'd eventually bite the dust? What could a 16 year old possibly have to offer someone that much older than them?
Omari Thompson Ok i'll try answer those 4... 1. Usually women like older men and men like younger women, this has been the case forever and it will never change, it's natural. There's no point listing out the reasons why the reply would be too long, but i'm sure you know that is true in life. 2. Yes. 16 is a normal age in most of the world, I don't think any reasonable person thinks a 16 year old is a child, she makes all kinds of life changing decisions at that age. 3. Yeah the male would be expected to die a lot sooner than her, in this case she can re-marry anyway, and it's expected at his age he would have financial provision for her. 4. In traditional marriages the woman doesn't need to be rich or wise (intelligent yes, but wise/ experienced, no). If she loves the man, he is older and more set in his ways and has gone through life and learned (hopefully), so it is good for her to truly become "his" wife and she will benefit greatly from that (as opposed to an ignorant young man). It's appropriate a woman picks a man based on character so he will be a good head of the house. As for her, she should be intelligent and compliant as his other half. You see, the world tries to fool people into thinking a marriage is some kind of contest, but these usually fail (as evidenced with divorce stats these days). When a woman puts her trust in a "good" man, she is practically forcing him to love her and take care of her. This is a womans true power, as opposed to stamping her foot and futilely trying to force the issue. The guy should be wise (because of his age) so he should be trustworthy to make decisions and her submission basically forces him to make her welfare primary.
+tee arryuuteeach Nope. 16 is still a child. It is legal to marry at 16 in some places, yet a 16 year old is not done with education at that time and cannot vote.
bay wills I wouldn't call evolution-school "education", more like indoctrination. Your reasoning is faulty also... if she goes to college in her 20's is she still not ready? What if she leaves high school early to get a job? What if they started the school curriculum at an earlier age so she DID finish the last year at 16? Christians are commanded by God to obey the laws of the country they reside in, so if underage (according to government) sex happens that is a direct violation of what Jesus Christ himself said. However 18 is very old compared to the rest of the world. But if a country said 5 years old was a sex-acceptable age, Christians would ignore that until the woman was started puberty. This is Nature and Bible. But no True Christian would break ANY land-laws because we are commanded to maintain peace, and keeping laws keeps us at peace with the government. Peace is a FAR more important command for us than sex.
Pastors like this are not Christian pastors. The Bible also speaks about false prophets and this is who they are. The Bible tells you that a pastor must be blameless and able to teach and lead others . This more proves why people need to repent of their sins and call upon Jesus to save them. It’s religion VS salvation. Since more have a religion in their sins. But they aren’t saved from their sins.
I will say that sometimes religion can help heal people spiritually and can bring people together when it is managed properly. There must be freedom in the group and respect for other's differences. When people are being controlled to this extent it is no longer a religion, it is a cult.
Janelle Queens no love, if I were a saddo I'd say something about your attempt at the English language, but I didn't, there ya see.... cuddles. No dear, it bespeaks that she didn't even watch the video given the number of NZ references - not the end of the world I'm sure she's not one of Queenslands Most Wanted or anything like that.
+Larga Hilfire that was a stupid reply. #1 they are CHILDREN!!!! #2 they are immediate blood relatives. #3 they don't WANT to see anyone having sex...because they're children and they're family.
"That's what women were made for; women were made to have children" OH HELL NO! No way in hell am I pumping out multiple brats because I was 'made for' it.
This hits waaaaay too close to home. I grew up in the Sovereign Grace cult and hearing anything those poor brainwashed souls makes complete sense to me because I used to believe the same way until I finally left and realized everything I had been taught was absolute bs
perfect example of a cult. They take absolutely no responsibility for their own destinies, and have it totally ingrained that everybody that is not in the cult is wrong. Only a matter of time till the cult self destructs.
This is in my own country! Aotearoa! It makes me so overwhelmed knowing that there is a cult in my own country! Some day, I'm going to see Gloriavale for myself. I'm going to see what it's like, and I'm going to rescue these young, isolated, innocent children who are not aware of the danger and loss of freedom they are in.
I would love to see a update on these young kids who got married . I know one of the girl in the video was the granddaughter and she escaped ( thankfully )
Menses is NOT the measure of a ‘woman’. Biological maturity and emotional development are continuing in females until age 21 or so, depending upon the individual. Men don’t reach this stage until 25....again, depending upon the individual....these are the average. To say a child of twelve is able to be a mother.... It is horrific and stressful on both her and the child she is carrying, developmentally! Many time more likely that the baby will have health issues and raises the mortality rate of the mother.
Hearing about Gloriavale puts me in two states of mind. On one hand, a lot of what they say resonates with me. I love God and believe in Him and try to live a life that honours Him in everything I do, so when they say that they are a "body of Christ" and are "living for God and not the world", I totally agree with that. I also feel that it's okay for the kids to have responsibility, and to learn the value of hard work. Too many kids these days (I am 18 years old by the way) grow up not knowing how to work so it's great to see them upholding that strong work ethic. However, where it goes wrong for me is the fact that this man, Neville Cooper, is building this society - this religion, even - that seems to be missing what is to me, one of the fundamentals of my life as a follower of Christ; sharing God's message of His love and life to the people around you! i believe one of the main reasons we are on this earth is to bring more people into God's family and show them that we all can have eternal life through God's love and sacrifice for us. How can you spread the light in a place where there is no darkness??
+JJfriend123 Good comment. Shows you are thinking and have a godly mindset. You are correct hat sharing God's message to outsiders is missing, also the cult leader dominating and controlling others instead of the Holy Spirit, his interpretation of the Bible rules rather than people reading and following themself.
Christians are to live in the world not of the world. Our main command of God is to love others and spread the gospel. Cults that separate themselves are self- centered and are not spreading the word. Cults are run by man. Christianity is run by Jesus. True shepherds or pastors get their guidance from God.
Wow, his son is so beautiful and looks like Owen Wilson crossed with Robert Redford in spite of his father's toad-like appearance and cold nature, he is warm as happiness still shines through him even though he was abused by the person he trusted the most as Godly. :,(
If the entire world lived like this, which presumably they would find a laudable aim, it would spell the end of philosophy, science and technology - the world would not be able to feed itself.. These pitiful and deluded kids are prisoners of the brainwashing they have been subjected to since the day they were born. I seriously and sincerely propose a law freeing all children from the religions of their parents until they are 18 and able to decide..
Mobius Klein Wrong. If the whole world would live like that there would be no war, no abortion, no murdering. Everyone would have enough to eat. We have all that technology and invention and yet, look how f****ed up our world is.
Video DSLR Tutorial ...so you would be quite happy to live under a dictatorship such as this, not being allowed to form your own religious views for fear of being ostracised etc etc etc.... ...and on the technology you are so scathing about, we would not be able to feed 7 billion without it, and with too little food that would certainly be f***ed up
That idea you have need's 1 additional step. that being religion should be treated like cigarette sales, no advertising, plain packages, not visible in stores. Nothing to attract children. Religion is just as toxic n deadly.
Wow, at 5:11 mark, the wedding guests are sooooo enthralled by all those beautiful totally believable wonderful words of love shared by this happy couple. 🤢. Look at all the enthusiasm for the witnessing the glory of God’s holy matrimony.
What will happen to the cult after Neville Cooper dies? Will it just fall away? These cults' existence seems to depend on their 'charismatic' leader, so what happens after the leader dies?
Married my husband right away, had all the children we could (religious & career mom here). Love the idea of marrying young, making a marriage work, worshiping together, shutting out sex/drugs/chaos of a modern western lifestyle
First of all this isn’t true Christianity and second of all if I said we should get rid of homosexuality, transgenders etc you would say I was a hypocrite. So what are you
Michelle Hancock Seriously! All groups do this. Gays. Christians. Satanists. Muslims. Republicans. Liberals. Democrats. ALL humans are hypocritical fools and cancel one another out with their sheer and utter idiocy.
@@Wareaglegirl9960 First of all there are no true Scotsmans. Second of all homosexuals and transgenders are not hurting anyone unless you count the Catholic Church which again... Religious related. Religion brings harm, falling in love with a dude as a dude is not harm.
OK it's called "the family bed"... back when early homes consisted of one or two rooms... inevitably the kids might glimpse parents having intercourse. Though when they mentioned that he encouraged watching... I admit that man has serious problems. Usually convicted sex offenders have their movements limited... such as no contact with children or not being allowed to live near schools. I'm surprised that this man isn't dealing with restrictions.
Wow this is definitely a colt and no witnessing to the outside world just isolation how do you expect people come to Christ how did they come to Christ if nobody witness to them we are in the world but we are not of the world but you can't isolate in Jesus said to go preach the gospel to all creation so how can you keep his children isolated this man needs to repent and turn to God this man needs to repent and turn to God or he will burn and hell if this is true what he's done to these innocent children
Reverend Eslam WRONG - a cult, [by definition], embraces socially deviant practices, and whilst it's true that many individuals within the so-called mainstream religions have been shown to be socially deviant, the modern day practices of these religions are not.
Reverend Eslam Reverend Eslam, You know why so what - as does every other sane, mature, and rational person. You seem to be supporting advocating these "groups" if you don't like the word "cult", or am I mistaken? May I ask what "church" you are a reverend in and what university and/or seminary you got your degree in religious studies?
Reverend Eslam So what? In that case, may I ask what makes your "cult" acceptable compared to the rest, when the only difference is just that you happen to have a larger following?
Sudevan Valyetham Sudevan, are you referring to my latest post - which is addressed to Rev.Eslam and what he wrote - or what I wrote? I wrote "you know why so what…" in reference to his question "so what?"… or are you addressing Rev. Eslam like I am. If you are addressing me… well, I have a response! I stand by my comment in reference to Rev. Eslam and position. By the way, I am still waiting for him to reply which "church" he is a rev. in, and what university and theology seminary he attended etc. or is he another goof that is playing preacher?
What is the screaming in the background at about 5:06? Knowing that this group used extreme physical punishment on the children, that scream gives me chills.
