As a Detroit RN who has worked in 7 different SE MI hospitals the past 10 years, I've taken care of a lot of UAW members. My own industry has seen us squeezed more and more for less and less pay while CEOs make millions and shareholders even more. Even doctors are struggling. Shawn Fain's message seems spot on to me. The working class is tired of this nonsense. These UAW members deserve to be treated better. Company profits prove they're clearly worth it.

The only thing they are really asking for is what they already had that they lost in the 2008 financial crisis negotiations to save the auto industry. They were supposed to get that back when the auto industry stabilized and that happened many years ago but what they gave up was never restored as promised.
