What happens to your In-Home Display when you switch energy suppliers in the UK when you have SMETS2 smart meters. You do not get a new in-Home display from your new supplier, you keep the display you currently have & your new supplier will remotely update that display to work with the new supplier.

I have this display but I have a SMETS1 meter. I changed from British Gas to E.On and they can't update the tariff details to my meter, it just displays the power usage and not the costs. Still handy, but I wish I could see costs. Apparently SMETS1 meters will eventually be able to be updated but still waiting.

Hi I have a first generation e.on monitor only gives exact elect reading but not gas,have been told by e.on that I am out of warranty,any suggestions

I’ve got a 2nd had BG 2nd gen monitor, but it won’t connect. Any thoughts. As I got it in a charity shop, but appears to work ok, they won’t do anything. Can it be reset so it picks up info. Just sits at the trying to connect stage.

Hi there, I got that smart meter device but moved from bulb (supplier when I moved in) to Octopus and Octopus not able to connect to meter but are getting readings for the electric only. They say they need the model number - i have given details on back of device but been told they can’t get the required info needed from it. Also gave photos of actual meters and no luck. Any ideas is their hidden number not obvious on device.

Not that I'm aware of, have you asked octopus if they will send you there in home display? Not sure if an engineer needs to pair then to your meter thought?

You may have a message waiting to read if there is a red triangle? Go to the menu then messages, read the message then hopefully the clock will display aster a while!

I have one of these and I'm using B gas for both gas and electric . Why will it only read my gas but not the electric? The problem started I may this year and British gas don't want to know. Keep making up excuses. Thanks
