"I could be wrong, but last time I checked I was working alone! Now if you feel you can enrich the lives of this tour group so much - you can just go back down stairs and fill out an application." LMAO
@elmando5 You are so right. There are indeed some people in society who act like her, and they are the types of people who are basically impossible to get along with and don't have many friends. There are several other sketches of her as someone's "supervisor". I'm just glad that there were no LaShawns who trained me when I started my previous jobs, lol. If she were my supervisor or co-worker, I would have put her in her place for her lack of respect and walk away.
She’s actually a very good guide. She was timely. She knew all the exhibits and made sure people didn’t spread false historical information. Exceptional work Lashawn
Lashawn may come across as "ghetto" yet some of her comments were truthful. In Living Color pushed the envelope by allowing writers to create thought provoking material behind the scenes. The early days of ILC were phenomenal. The Wayans family is underrated!
Right?! It would be so easy at face value to take this a parody of sassy black women but that is not at all the spirit this character was written or played in. Lashawn was acted out with the same class that snooty white women have the privilege of expressing without being labeled as sassy or angry. This is a “right on” to black women asserting themselves in the workplace and I live.
Lashawn was always my favorite skit on ILC. This particular one was my favorite of those. I love that "Why come they running up in here like they at a special at K mart or sumin'"
@J.D. Contreras Mmmhmm....well as sure as I am that scientists all over the world are tripping over themselves to study your incredible sense of color, what you need to do is worry about yourself and that awful haircut.
Same, same, and same. I couldn’t remember her name and I tried to look it up using the word docent and that sure as fuck didn’t work but I found it now LOL. So are y’all my tribe? 🙄😜 lmfao
LaShawn is a gorgeous woman. This coupled with her sassy attitude and snarky comments make her character one of the most attractive people on the show.
I remember when I was younger I would use that line. "If you lookin' for some hay, I suggest you check the stable." LMAO My fav part was, "Ohh no cuz I will snatch you and your kids." LMAO
I always learn from these skits, had to ask my friend what snatch (in this context lol) was and who she is referring to by buffy and Jordan at the projects. Love and miss this show!!!
thats because theres only a limited amount of black representation on TV today ..so those few on tv represent the whole...whether the portrayal is positive or negative...besides throughout the history of Hollywood theres been more than enough stereotypes ...directly and indirectly
Can you say that She has Channeled the spirits of TSA Agents...Drivers License Departments photographer ...The Church Lady....etc...lol She need Prozac with an Abilify booster...and her tubes tied.
Straight up. I know a sista with this exact same kind of attitude and she got a fa real down home type ass whuppin about a week ago. This is comedy and T'Keyah nailed it. 😂 Just don't try this @ home folks.
Comedy on TV today can never compare to how it was back in the day. It used to be SOOOOO funny. Everyone laughed, and no one was offended by it. They mocked everybody on this show. No way they would ever put a show like this on the air now.
@Matto2t Plus, that LaShawn sketch was produced when Keenen and Marlon were still part of the regular cast according to that episode's closing credits. I'm not too sure if fX rerun that particular sketch though.
@gsacca1 Hi! The LaShawn sketch you're inquiring about is on the 4th season DVD, Disc 3, Side A, Episode Twenty-five. It is the fourth sketch on there. :)
@crpsaiyan That is so true. There are indeed some people who are as you described. Due to such a negative attitude like LaShawn had, such people like her will have a hard time making it in the real world (like getting in trouble at their jobs) and probably won't be well liked by others. These are the types of folks who show little or no respect to other people, and are so messed up in their minds, and are to be avoided as often as possible. -Matt
