In Loving Memory of Carl Weathers 

Remembering Carl Weathers-
We lost a giant on February 1. I had the joy of working with Carl and learning from him across three seasons of The Mandalorian. Greef Karga and The Armorer met only briefly on screen, but I was in one of the episodes Carl directed and we attended many fan conventions together, so I had a peek into Carl’s creative process, his I mpact on the fans and his delight at meeting people. He LOVED being a storyteller and learning other people’s stories. He wanted to capture real human moments as an actor and a director, and when he said “this is the way,” I believed it. He walked The Way with his generous spirit, the curiosity he had about people, his student mindset- he was constantly learning, and that was a lesson to me. It reinforced the understanding that, no matter how long you’ve been doing something, you always have more to learn…and isn’t that marvelous?
