In Memoriam 1953: Famous Faces We Lost in 1953 

8:48 Betty Jack Davis teamed with high school friend Mary Penick to form the Davis Sisters duo. After surviving the car accident that took the life of Betty Jack (they were struck head-on by a motorist who'd fallen asleep at the wheel), Mary continued performing under the name "Davis", even as she embarked on a solo career. She wasn't known as Mary, though. When she was a child growing up in Kentucky, her grandfather, seeing her so young and energetic, thought she was like a mosquito and so nicknamed her 'Skeeter. Skeeter Davis eventually recorded her career-defining song, "The End of the World." She passed away in 2004 at the age of 72, more than 50 years after the death of her friend Betty Jack.

Nigel Bruce was a Wonderful Dr. Watson . Hard to believe he was just 58 years old when he passed away. Somehow he looks older ?? These Memorium Videos are lovely and informative always surprised nat the people who have passed . Much Thanks 😊

2:25. Paul Hurst costarred alongside Shemp Howard in the 1939! short The Gloveslingers, along with Noah Beery, Jr, who was best known for his role of Joseph "Rocky" Rockford in the TV series The Rockford Files.

You left out Stalin. He does not need to be commemorated but he must never be forgotten.
