In Memory of Chimpanzee Sazae #2 

Sazae 1982/1985 estimated - June 9, 2017
Mother of Miru and adopted son Gin.
She was expecting to give birth in July but passed away because of massive hemorrhage caused by death of unborn baby. The baby was female and father is Decky.
Sazae was pregnant through artificial insemination which was the first trial of Tama zoo chimp staff. They want a wild born chimp baby but only Decky, a wild born but hand-reared chimp, does not know how to mate.
The zookeeper said the cause of the fetal death is not known.
