Satoru Iwata was a hero. He wasn't the kind of hero that wore a cape and flew around, but he made many people very happy. He was one of many who brought Nintendo to where it is today, and for that we should be thankful. Iwata was a good man.
He pursued his dream, not only to make his life happy, but to make all of us happy. Because of that, and because of all the great games you brought to us... thank you. May you rest peacefully. :')
You could tell that with Iwata, it was more than just about the money. He genuinely loved what he did, and he loved making people happy. He went out of his way to learn the English language, so he could communicate directly with the American Nintendo fans. Although it is still heartbreaking to this day that he is no longer alive, his spirit still lives on through the memories of Nintendo fans, as well as a line of fantastic people to carry on his legacy such as, Shigeru Miyamoto, Masahiro Sakurai, Reggie Fils-Aime, and now Doug Bowser, just to name a few.
