Something important to keep in mind for at least the next few episodes: the subtitles keep mixing up the Slaine Theocracy and the Roble Holy Kingdom, which are two separate nations. From here on, when the subtitles mention the Theocracy, they are actually referring to the Holy Kingdom. You'll be less confused knowing this in advance.

By the way, what Cocytus meant was that he’s training to be an uncle. He wants Ainz’s heir to ride on his shoulders to make him/her happy.

This is right after Ainz happened to blow up Jircniv’s spot completely by accident and taking the Empire as a vassal state.

The highlight of the Dwarf ark, for me, is the cute sister-like relationship between Shalltear and Aura; although i guess they're more like cousins since their creators are brother and sister, but still wholesome none the less.

I have a theory why Mare and Aura are probably more mature out all the other NPC's even though they're probably the youngest. I think because they were created as kids, they have a better chance at growing and understanding things better than someone like Demiurge or Shalltear. When your a kid, your brain is still developing, so you're more likely to question the things or people around you and decide how you wanna react when you're as old as them. Everyone else was probably created as adults, so they didn't go through any of that development that those 2 have a chance at.

Coyctus isn't a pervert like Shalltear and Albedo. He was only doing what he did so he could train for the possibility of giving Ainz children piggy back rides and such.

With Coyctus’s "training," he meant that after Ainz produces an heir with a woman, Cocytus will better be able to give that heir rides on his back as a relative would give a child. I believe he said so in season 1, episode 2.

The problem is even if Ainz were to come clean, the npcs have such a high opinion they'd just think it was a ploy for their benefit and wouldn't believe him.

Funny thing that Cocytus was so invested in the seat & ride thing. But the reason behind it, its because one of the ultimate desires of Cocytus, is to be the cool uncle for Ainz sons & daughters. He has stated that it is his wish to give rides to Ainz kids in his shoulders, thats why this intense attention to this scenario. (he has even said that its better for Ainz to have many wives so he can have many kids). this was mentioned in the very 1rst episode.

Imagine how the Lizardmen felt seeing the one who slaughtered them offering himself as a chair. 😂

In a few episodes they're gonna be mentioning the Theocracy a bunch of times and it'll be confusing so keep in mind it's a translation error and it's suppose to be "Holy Kingdom" you'll get what I mean when you see the episode and will be wondering why they keep saying Theocracy.

For Roshi thinking there is literal spell for this one purpose, yes. Yggdrasil had tens of thousands of spell. Maybe even a hundred thousand since not all of them were even discovered.

Kokutus was talking about Ains kid that will ride him in further. It was a call back to, i think ep 2 of season 1.

Shalltear is precious in this episode. And her dynamic with Aura is cute since they're basically cousins.

I checked the English subtitles for this anime since many are complaining about it and it's true, just a reminder that there is a BIG mistranslation in the following episodes so please read this. Everytime you read "Theocracy" in the subtitles it is suppose to be the "Holy Kingdom". The translators messed that up really bad that anime only people will get confused by it. Slane Theocracy and Holy Kingdom are different.

This season has a huge translation error: every time you read "theocracy" it should be "holy kingdom". They're two different countries

So the person Cocytus was preparing for is Ainz’s child. Because Cocytus wants to be a caring “uncle figure” that can give them piggy back rides.

Its mentioned in the episode that quagoa eat metals to become stronger. Quagoa feed on rare ores to become stronger in adulthood. This puts them in direct conflict with the Dwarves who mine the ores of the mountain. They have a longstanding conflict. Quagoa fought over ores as well, until the clan lord Riyuro united their species.

There are a lot of D&D spells that the show takes inspiration from - Hold Species, doesn't exactly exist in that way in D&D, but Hold Person and Hold Monster* (This is the closest one) do exist for sure. Long story short, they paralyze the target and if you "upcast them" at a higher level (Shaltear is capable of this in the Overlord equivalent), you can target more creatures. The balance of the game doesn't match what's done in the show, but the basic idea is there.

I feel like you guys should consider one thing when watching overlord, in this series when people warn someone about something, that doesn't mean they will be in trouble for that thing, it isn't like other animes, when they warn someone that means they know not having/doing something might be troublesome, so they prepare it beforehand.

There's a fun theory that's been floating around for a while that Ainz, even though he doesn't directly know what he's doing (world domination, the importance of Momon, etc) His passive wisdom is influencing him to make the decisions that lead to that. The whole idea is based on the fact that when Ainz was transported to the new world, he felt that he was becoming less and less human (he even says so himself in season 1 when he saves Cairne village) and that his character was slowly taking over some mental aspects. It's an interesting theory that I personally like and believe for now, as it makes sense. That, or like shown in the anime, he's just lucky asf and Demiurge is having way too much power using his brain.

It is heavily implied that the male guardians would happily give up the yams if Ainzs were to request it

Here's something you should never forget about Ainz he used to be a normal 35 year old in a dystopian world where he was born in working class family his father died from being overworked his mother died soon after for the same reason that's when he was only 8 years old Ainz could only have elementary school education because higher education is ridiculously expensive everywhere when he worked as a office drone he has managed to maintain a high enough living standard and invest in Yggdrasil despite his low income job because he really is capable and smart individual his only prior experience as a leader was as a guild leader of Ainz Ooal Gown where he was planning best strategies and ways to utilize skills and builds of his friends.

About what happened at the beginning of this episode, Albedo was gas lighting Demiurge on purpose. And that brief interaction between those two is what fuels the craziness and horror that will come raining down on the Holy Kingdom. Unfortunately you wont bare witness to that until the movie comes out, i cant wait

I know that Crusch is pregnant from Vol 7 (invaders of tomb arc). Zenberu was teasing Sharyusu about his "warrior accuracy" after Hamusuke finished killing the swordsman. Vol 9, the war starts 2 month after the declaration Vol 10 (s4 e1-4) took place months after the massacre so it makes sense that Crusch had a little child now

By that scene it is implied that Cocyutus' creator was closet G in the lgbt.

Cocytus's "I wanted to train myself well for the one who will ride me in the future!" line was in reference to the first time the guardians all get together in the arena at the beginning of the series. Someone is talking about Ainz having an heir, and Cocytus ends up fantasizing about being an "uncle" who gives the kid piggy-back rides. It's surprisingly wholesome both for the series and for how it comes across here. Also, Create Fortress is a 10th-tier spell, and the tower is much bigger on the inside than the outside appearance. Most players never bothered learning the spell since there is a limit on spells known, so it was only thanks to Ainz's efforts to break the normal cap on spells known and his role-playing attitude that he has it.

Demiurge would never conflict with Ainz (unless he believed Ainz’s life was in danger as seen in Season 1). Demiurge always believes that Ainz is three steps ahead of him so he believes any plan he comes up with, Ainz has already thought of. Even if Ainz made a mistake, Demiurge would justify it as part of a master plan. Ainz on the other hand is just trying to maintain the appearance of a supreme overlord so he can maintain his guardians expectations of him. So he naturally goes along with not only plan Demiurge has but any plan Demiurge believes is actually Ainz’s plan as seen by the “world domination” misunderstanding.

shalltear is actually not the strongest in Nazarick. It Rubedo, Albedo little sister. It said in the light novel that her power surpass that of even surperem being [Lv100 Player] and that includ touch me whos is the world champion. Rubedo was not created like normal NPC. She is mostly likely created by a world item. And in epsiode 9, I will finally get to see Nigredo whos is Albedo older sister. She suppose to appear in season 1, 2 but the anime didn't adapt her or mention her until season 4.

What I find interesting about Ainz way of conquest and his desire to get his commanders to think for themselves and socialize with other races comes from a reasoning that I feel will be mentioned in the future, is the fact that even though he is a Supreme Being and an Undead, he was formerly human, and he doesn't need to address the whole RPG thing for that, because this would make sense for the people even without mentioning the whole RPG player thing.

I assume you guys are up to date on Patreon, but just in case, on episode 8 you may be a little confused, it is because they skipped an entire arc. that arc will be adapted in a movie (release date September 27, 2022). So for having an actual understanding of what is going on, it would be better for any anime only, to watch up to episode 7, then the movie, then the rest of this season. Also translation in episode 8 isnt very good and there as some problems that can cause even more confusion. So if you dont wanna wait for the movie, maybe wait a couple days and with luck it will get fixed.

you should watch isekai oji-san it is a great comedy anime and post isekai, where oji-san came back from the isekai world and also kept his powers, and we get to see how he readjusts to modern life, and his rise in youtube stardom, because that is the best way to use your supernatural powers, you gotta become a youtuber and get to that hustle. but naw really its a really fun series, and i recommend it.

It's a shame the anime didn't put a little focus on the Guardians' thoughts in certain parts. Such as Demiurge's (and the other Guardians', but Demiurge in particular) greatest fear is Ainz abandoning him like the other Supreme Ones. Like the man is going out of his way and giving 400% to prove how useful he can be to Ainz. Whipping scheme after scheme out his ass and even solving a potential parchment shortage by skinning "sheep" alive, healing them, and skinning them again. And again. And again.
