Excellent video, even watching it over a year later when the news is all out of date, the overview of the workshop and the jobs going on was really interesting.
75079 is almost done I think so be ready for it in service around about the same time as Swanage so it will probably be done by I’d say March or May next year.
Hi FBUK300, while work on the frames and bottom end as it's know is certainly progressing well it's still a little early to say exactly when it'll be ready as the boiler has only recently entered the boiler shop. That and covid putting everything back by a fair while. Best follow the railway at 'Ropley MPD' on facebook for more updates! After using 76017 a lot of the crews are certainly looking forward to seeing 75079 in action once again!
Swanage is currently in the yard under a green cover waiting to be put back into the shed to be finished off, so it will probably be done by I’d say March or May next year.
As a child walking round the sheds at Roply was the best thing ever, and at Thomas days out the James was always out there don't think it's around anyone 🤣
James isn’t there now as I think it is on a different railway or has been scraped, however i think once 499 is done, it will act as henry because 499 is going into a green livery with no smoke deflectors.
