No real underwater landscape in the Underwater game, barely no mountains in the game In The Mountains. So what can I expect from the game that would be named "The Rainforest Massacre"? A big post-soviet hotel-bunker from 1970's infested by poisonous penguins?
At the beginning when you have to walk up hella close to those signs to be able to see them... I felt that soooo strongly as an extremely nearsighted person.
@@NovaGirl8 Honestly there is more than just mountain related SCPS that would fit with the content of the game. So its hard to narrow it down. Not to mention there are more than a few SCPs that just outright alter reality in unpredictable ways.
CJU: I'm gonna see another sign soon that says "Survivors will be shot again." This made me laugh because I was thinking exactly that precisely when you said it.
I really enjoyed this one; I am a little biased I guess because I'm a huge fan of mysterious games in remote locations and in the wilderness that drip feed you the story. Like the Penumbra series. My main criticisms would be the length, lack of story telling, and feeling like you were in a random facility as opposed to a mountain. Still an interesting concept with potential for more. Thumbs up from me 👍
Tomorrow's indie horror game: "In The Desert"--A terrifying game of chance played out deep within the high-roller infested hell of the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. ツ
Populated by the slot machine zombies that have been there so long that the noxious smoke and bottom shelf drinks have caused them to mutate and merge with their seats. You wander through the heat having to dodge shady characters forcing you to take paper bills you don't want. Shocked back into cold, you get lost through an endless maze of terrible overly bright carpets and nauseating decorations, only to find that a decent cup of tea is no where to be found. This would actually make a pretty solid horror game.
Hey Chris, just in case you ever meet a T-Rex in real life... it's vision isn't just based on movement, Jurassic Park made that up. So you better don't just stand still to be eaten, okay? ; ) Cheers!
Rather cheap ending, to say the least. And another rather misleading title (even though you do actually spend 2 minutes in the mountains, to be fair) : this one could have been called "In the super dark hallways of a generic facility".
Agreed. Ohhhhh, I'm fast becoming an indie horror curmudgeon. What's up with these games? I understand we have to suspend disbelief, but this is ridiculous. LOL
@@Scriptor13 Yes, to be honest those indie games all start to blend in after a while (the terrible ones, the mediocre ones, and the "not-that-bad-but-so-generic" ones I mean). It's been a few weeks since I've been hoping for a series based on a "good game" on the channel, I feel like it's been a while. Granted, I haven't watched Resident Evil VIII because I will play it myself, but even that one was more than a month ago. There have been some nice games in the meantime like Mr. Hopps Playhouse 2 or even Intruders recently, and there are some indie gems here and there, but yeah.... I usually don't mind the short indie games, but there have been a LOT lately. No dig against Chris at all, I think good horror games (or "horror-adjacent") are still more the exception than the majority (and of course, longer games take up more time to play and edit).
@@fredd3233 Yeah, I don't place any onus on Chris for these games--he tries to pick the best of what he finds. As you say, it seems that "good" horror games--well conceived, written, designed, voiced, etc.--do seem to be more the exception than the rule.
I had the one of the worse days in my life so far today...seeing you upload a new game made me feel a bit better. Thanks Chris💖 Edit: thanks for all the kind words my internet friends, wish you all the good luck and love 💕
I'm sorry to read this. I wish you the very best. I hope you don't mind if I add you to my prayers the next time I meditate. I don't know your circumstance but I truly hope things get better for you Rosalyn.
I'm sorry you had such a dreadful day, Rosalyn. I'm glad Chris' upload gave you a lift--they always do for me as well. Sending positive energy and a cyber hug your way.
Everytime i need to sleep in my working room, i played your video. Got to sleep very comfortably. Not because your video is boring, far from it. But your voice is shooting. Hey at least you got the views count. Thanks for making me sleep comfortably CJU (in a good way).
"don't go off the trail", oh my gosh that reminds me of something. Cju, have you ever played a game called "the path"? Controls are a bit weird, but it's absolutely amazing.
I think this is a metaphor for office workers. It says employees only near the start. They're smokey like they are burnt out. The part at the end looks like they're all leaving work for the day.
When you got killed by whatever that was coming down the stairs actually made me close my eyes and plug my ears as it game at the screen. THAT was the thing that scared me more than anything youve played for some reason. I think it reminds me of the exact moment calm dreams turn into nightmares.
the ambiance in the game i pretty good. it would be a little better if it wasn't so fricken dark, though. i liked the sort of story-book wrap up, but it's way preferable to that story ending not being there!
