Agreed Tom 😊 Sandu, I watched the coverage on St Louis Chess Clubs RU-vid channel 🙂 The video should still be there, his interview was right at the end, the second last interview 😊
Names must be capitalised as in Mamedyarov and Reti. It is correct English as well as showing respect for the players. As pointed out you also misspelled Agadmator.
Excellent chess video/analysis ...... as always, never bored to watch Almost every game played by this great world champion .... Magnus is really a warrior that look for win in almost every games. Even sometimes when draw was enough for him, he still pushed all the way to the end ... In this game, Mamedyarov was able to absorb every attack and also with very sharp counter attack ......... One of the most exciting draw game I’ve ever watched
First thank you for all the videos. I beliee that calrsen is simply preparing himself for next year's world championship and therefore his trying many ideas.
Qh3 keeps control of the c8-h3 diagonal. More square control, therefore better position. It wouldn't surprise me if Magnus's motivation was this simple principle.
Thank you for constant uploads on your channel and don't worry about some technical issues sometimes. I like to hear that "Sorry about that" Have a nice day!
18:56 Hi Agad. It is called 30 second delay. As you have written in your description "Players receive 130 minutes for the entire game, with a 30-second delay from move one." I'm an excellent reader of descriptions below. 😁
#suggestion a 5+0 charity Lichess Tournament for your fans 🙂 The winner chooses which charity to donate the prize money to. Also link a donation link for those of us who enter, so we can all donate to the charity even if it's a small amount 😊 I mentioned it on your 400k subscribers stream 🙂
1) That sip was so unexpected I was actually shocked. 2) I know people usually find the greatest beauty in crushing victories after various sacrifices, but this game, that's what gives me a "chess hard-on".
I really liked this game it looks like they both attacked and defended fairly both sides Magnus just went straight to attack at the beginning tho savage bruh
The only way I could see Queen to H4 being better than H5 is that it's a little easier to escape if he starts to get overwhelmed. It opens the opportuinity for pawn to g4, which otherwise would box in the queen.
4:16 Queen to h3 is better because the knight and queen will be pinned if black plays bishop to f6 forcing the trade of the knight... at least that’s what I saw
Magnus was very mad with himsef for playing Ng5 and this plan. He said he knew after move 12 he was basically winning and coud just go for Bishop c4 or instead of Ng5 go with Bd3 and Mamedyarov agreed. Magnus said he thoght Ng5 was just winning but he knew this is the kind of move you will regret after the game - unfortunately he couldn't help himself and he went for it instead of the slower approach. He said he had no doubt about winning the game after Bd3 or Bc4.
4:21 Maybe because if Carlsen decided to play bishop c4 at some point in the game, Mamedyarov won't have the option of pushing the pawn to e6. This needs to be calculated before Mamedyarov moves his knight to f6, thus draining more time from Mamedyarov.
:O A new idea to me, like Mamedyarov considering testing Carlsen's feelings toward a repetition. Interesting, also, that he decided not to even test, as maybe he thought this would give Carlsen too many easy moves to help him with his time troubles, and so M safely assumed C would probably not wish to draw anyway, as this seems rare from him, at least to me.
As Carlsen stated in his game against Giri, he wants to play against the person, and not against the position. He is clearly having a lot of fun, which makes me very happy too. Bobby Fischer is proud of him.
Normally I agree with all your comments however Magnus will be gutted when he sees what he missed an easy chance to win the game. I saw the game live and using a chess engine the commentary suggested 13 Bc4 if Qc7 Kasparovs suggestion as stated, 14 Qb3 threatening 15 Bxf7 leading to mate. 14... e6 and 15 cxd (+ 5) is winning.
For you who didn't understand this new video I'll give you some seconds... If you watched the earlier video, congratulations, you're an excellent subscriber!
I believe he played qh3 to keep an eye on the c3 pawn, because if you try to attack the e4 pawn simply play f3 and if you try to defend c3 with rook b3 he has bishop d5 also you can’t play bd2 because simply rc8
0:58 Carlsen was white, not Mamedyarov ha ha ha. At 14:13 maybe better for black is ...Be4+; Rxe4,Rxc1+; Kxc1 Qc6+;Kb2 Qxe4 but it is probably dead drawn
I think queen to h4 at that point might have something to do with unnecessary loss of material but Im a admirer of the game not pro. Beer does a hobby good.
Mamedyarov played the first moves as white and as black xD I know it is an honest mistake and everyone knows what is meant if you mix up the players or pieces, but in my opinion it is part of the "Agadmator-style", so the lazy viewers have to think twice about some moves:) keep up the good work and greetings from germany!
I was able to a couple of times do moves like pawn pushes and a knght of bishop sacrifice then queen to g4 or h5 after the opponent castle's but I have not practiced or done it within 8 to 12 moves in awhile. ℂℍℰℰℛՏ
Poor little himanshu sharma, you seem to be very emotional! You really thought the video would not come back? Do not forget to drink a little fresh water in order to recover very fast, lol!
Can you explain this in your next video or reveal the reason? After carlsen play hxg6, why black doesnt play fxg6 so that the h - file wont be open and avoided any attacking chances from white.. Thus, is black play fxg6, it open up the file for the rook to attack.. I hope you can explain this. You're a very excellent annotator. Thanks.
Carlsen’s-“unlike some of my peers I do think it’s important to study the classics” Mamedyarov-“I am in possession of 97% of the human race’s cheek fat” Carlsen-“Welp”
At 15:36 if 35. BxPe6, Qd8 it is not obvious that 36. Rd2 is inadequate, for if 36..., Qf6+ 37. Kb1, then discovered checks, e.g. 37..., NxPf2, don't do much. But Black has simply 37..., BxBe6 and now if White captures on d3, Black replies Bf5 pinning and winning
Another Nice video, thanks. I Have a #suggestion for you : USSR vs World 1 or 2. There are a lot of brillant games of brillant champions. Thank you in advance .
