I like some of the custom Option 719 and Sands parts, but hate having labels on every piece. Good design stands on its own, no need to proclaim order numbers and design sources.
BMW Motorrad unfortunately no, I live way up in Maine and the nearest dealer is a few hours away. But I do have a 1988 BMW R100RS. It’s the greatest bike I’ve ever owned and though it maybe 800 cc’s less, it still sounds like a beast! I can’t wait to see the R18 in person though. Y’all killed it on that design. That bike is literally perfect. I watched the series with Edgar Heinrich braking down every design step and that man is a genius!

Amazing bikes! I have a R18 Classic and love everything about it - with the exception of the stock seats that are very hard and the pipes that don't sound as powerful as it should.
I'm in the market for my first touring bike. BMW wasn't even on my radar until I went to one of their riding events and test rode the R18 TC. I loved this motorcycle! I noticed the same issues with the boxer engine as he point out, however BMW does have chrome plated leg rest that secured to the crash bar and supports your legs over the top of the pistons and not the sides. However the brackets holds and supports your calfs so I don't know how comfortable that will be on long distances. But the Pros I still love, the adapter cruise control, reverse gear assist, hill start control, the Marshall 6 speakers audio system and adaptative LED headlights. I rode a black model but I absolutely love the Option 719 Galaxy Dust/Titan Silver Metallic paint scheme.

The only thing missing from the range of accessories is a drivers back rest. For people with back problems, especially in the lumbar region, a back rest is the ultimate life saver 👍
You should consider opening up this platform to law enforcement contracts. This would make a great alternative to what is currently used in America by Motors Officers. If I was fortunate enough to become Sheriff of a small town I would love to test these bikes out for that application. That big boxer offers a lot of protection. Cheers!
Great presentation !!! I would like to know more about the factory given guarantees. Do power improving stages on this bikes exist ? Air filter, pipes, cartography ? I am ready to exchange my Harley for this BMW R18B.

I am going to test ride this bike, I currently have an Indian Roadmaster. The one thing that is putting me off is the fixed windshield. One of the most used items on my bike. What I do like is the option of a reverse gear which will solve a lot of issues with having a large bike. Panniers look good but does the top box hold two helmets? Also no rack which I hope is an extra. Love the options and the 10inch screen though.

@@bmwmotorrad thanks for your note. I have now test rode both an R18 & R18B. I can honestly say the R18 was great, a most unexpected fantastic ride. I simply love the engine, power and torque. However, the R18 B was something else, simply superb. Very precise handling, good riding position and protection. I loved it! Now to try a transcontinental next year. I would recommend anyone trying these bikes, the mix of a modern bike and traditional styling is a winner. My thanks to Mark @BMW Motorrad Wolverhampton for arranging this,Excellent customer service!

On the Transcontinental can the top case be easily removed for storage? BMW offers this feature on the K1600 GTL. In contrast, on the K1600 GA the top case cannot be removed.
Maybe it's not the right place to ask a question like this but I try. Is there or do You plan to release a sissy bar for the passenger of a BMW R18 B? In the HD world on a Street Glide or Road Glide it's normal to install one for the passenger and I was wondering if there is one available for the B model (the Transcontinental has the Tour Pack with the backrest). I'm thinking to buy an R18 B first edition but my wife asked me if there is a sissy bar as an optional.

I hope they have fixed the Connectivity and Navigation system. I own the 2021 1250RT which has the same 10.25 TFT. Great bike which is critically let down by the constant instability of the Navigation and Connected App. The unreliability is so bad that I have had to install a Garmin. You would think that a premium tourer at a premium price would have a useable navigation system and yes the latest software upgrades have been applied.

Not my style, but definitely high style for big cruisers. The design and implementation is everything I expect for BMW, and I wish them every success. It's iconic, and that's never a mistake. It's interesting that BMW is staking this bold claim in the big cruiser market while Harley Davidson is selling their new Pan American large ADV bike and getting good press. Competition and market choices are good for consumers. Finally, I think it's a bit comical that the 280 watt R18 audio system would consume the entire electrical capacity of my beloved little BMW G310GS.

Hi, for the R18 B and R18 Transcontinental, we only use Marshall speakers and amplifiers. The 10.25" TFT display is from us and includes our software which also controls the music playback. As it does not support Apple Car Play or Android Auto, we do not have usual apps included in our display. This also counts for "SiriusXM". I test drove the R18 and Harley Fat Boy, the BMW is actually much much lighter feel and much less vibration compare to the Harley 114 CI Engine. I ended up with the Fat Boy just because I want to heavy feel and more vibration.
@@WilliamPThan William, you probably went with the HD to buy into their culture. I have never been a HD fan. I ride a 2003 BMW R1200CL & 2015 Victory CCT. Ride Safe Brother!
