In Their Names invites individuals from diverse regions, age, gender and ethnicity, to share with us how they have been shaped by their encounter with the history of the Holocaust.
Alice Wairimu Nderitu is the United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide. Her grandfather, a veteran of the First and Second World Wars, taught her about the value of fahamu (consciousness - deep understanding - in Kiswahili) to comprehend the impact of war and the Holocaust.
The series is produced by the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme.
