This is good, though you missed out the secondary gene marker, which is when the bacteria that survive the first antibiotic are collected and put on a second plate with another antibiotic to determine which took up recombinant plasmids and which took up ordinary plasmids, as some plasmids with join back up with themselves rather than bind with the DNA fragment.

agar and agarose are different, agarose is for running electrophrosis, but agar is a culture medium
