INAV Unicorn filter tuning - it's simpler than you think 

Sorry, u know I must --- 0:43 - sure there is. It is a PT1 lowpass filter that moves the cutoff around based on looking at past gyro data. "Prediction" is a huge stretch of the word. Unless you call taking the slope of a line to estimate where the next sample will be a "prediction". And as you know, the slope is a derivative and derivative adds noise to a signal. So the "prediction" hurts the filter, not helps. The rest is all marketing talk. BTW, I have a spreadsheet that breaks down the Unicorn Filter to it's basic elements. It is honestly pretty simple. I will link that below. In my video - just search "uav tech kalman filter" if YT blocks my links - you will see HOW changes to Q and W actually changes the filter. Basically, lower W makes the PT1 lowpass filter raise and lower the cutoff faster. Higher W makes it move less. Higher Q moves the average cutoff up. Lower Q moves the average cutoff down. THE BIG question that everyone overlooks is, how much filtering does a PT1 lowpass really do? Answer: not much.

I changed it to 250 and it smoothed out everything! Thanks!

What is the LPF setting for each axis for the unicorn filter? And should you not change the values for them? Also compared to the imu-f firmware how do the W values relate? There you had a default value of 32. 16 was advised for racing and 64 for the bigger quads. I’m asking this to see if I can tune my imu-f board (Helio Spring) in the same way and what my W and LPF values should be.

Same problem. I have matek f405se and matek led strip (8leds) 2812slim. Soldered to +5to 5 , G to G, and Din to LED on FC board. In inav config selected multi led ENABLED. In channels LEDLOW ch11 and remote CH 11 on/off not even lighting up ..... need help. Thanks
