Jim, I can not thank you enough! I had struggled with shanking my wedges for almost 2 years and it had me so psychologically paranoid that I actually felt more comfortable hitting a 7 iron run up shot over a wedge shot. It almost had me ready to give up the game because of such frustration. I have been watching numerous videos on how to cure the shaking until I stumbled on your videos. It only took a few of your videos to put your simple technique into practice and it completely transformed my game. Not only hitting crisp wedge shots, but hitting them with a pretty soft draw. You are completely right on how flawed conventional golf instruction is. Your instructions are simple and straight forward with quick results. You get a A+ from me. You are “The Dude”!

I now understand the comment " given an inch -take a mile". The range finally opened this week and I couldn,t wait to get in some much needed practice. Although I hit 7 out of 10 balls exceptionally well I completely overdid my practice by hitting 300 balls and the pain in my left thigh will take a few days to pass. At the age of 78 this was complete stupidity. However I was really satisfied with all aspects of my swing which I have been practicing at home for 10 weeks (short game only) along with watching all of your videos on a daily basis.The concept of your swing is really simple when I ignore all thoughts but stillness and I know that when I return to the course my golf will significally improve along with my scores.This is just to thank you Jim for all your video instruction please keep it coming.Stay safe and well.

I love this, I stumbled across this way of connecting club to ball on my own a couple years ago. My mistake was not stopping there but taking in other people’s philosophy’s of what a golf swing should be. Thanks for this it has renewed what I already knew I should be doing.

The proof is in the divot people. With each consistent iron shot I look down at a nice shallow and rectangular divot, small things to small minds I suppose but I just love the confirmation of a well hit shot. Thanks Jim, game changer.

Changed my swing this season to more of the stack and tilt. I’ve struggled my last couple rounds, however after watching how you preset your hips my swing and ball striking feel like it’s at a whole new level. Glad I discovered your vids. Cheers!

I’ve been using stack and tilt I am 76 and play from the white tees. I have shot my age 10 times in the last 2 months. Then it’s gone and I shoot 79, 81, 82 or 85 a couple of times. I have been watching your videos an decided to give it a try today shot my age today 76 and could have been much better. It was so comfortable. Especially liked the minimal moving parts, it will be much more repeatable.

I do believe you have yourself a new client. I used to set up with my shoulders closed to the target and was told it was wrong. I used to hit a beautiful crisp high draw. I used to be a 1.7 index. After starting to play the game again, I took a few lessons. What was once a nice consistent draw, had turned into a “I have no idea where the ball is going.” I plan on joining this week.

@@jlybarraiii Yes I think it’s the combination of the two isn’t it. Jim’s appearance of no glamour no glitz and the rugged desert terrain produces the all important mindset of believing that its easier than we think. It begins in the mind doesn’t it. Maybe he just happened upon this look purely by chance. And if that’s the case then it’s his lucky break isn’t it. However without the man himself and his method, along with his good teaching style, that happens to incorporate the idea that its easy, then all the rocks and sand in the world wouldn’t make any difference, would it. Presumably you’d agree with this. Anyway friend, happy golf 😊

Big Roo Define ‘power’. Hitting a 9i consistently 150yds or hitting a 9i 160 followed by 140. You’ll finally hit solid tight draws by improving your contact along with a shallow, circular and descending strike. So for most of us we will see a significant increase in distance along with smaller dispersion....that’s power yes?

And then most shots were amazingly straight. driver, which has been giving me trouble, well I had 25 high and straight and long. I think he is a genius.

I notice that with my G10s that this swing produces quite a draw. Should I look to replace my clubs with clubs that have less offset like blades or player distance irons?

A recognized PGA Instructor was watching me on the range use Jim’s method. He criticized it, and told me how it doesn’t work. He watched me hit 10 shots with my 8 iron. All flushed, tight draw, and finished within a close radius of each other. Told me again how ugly and how wrong it “looks.” My response, “it’s not how, it’s how many.”

Would anyone know of a video course vlog of Jim playing golf? It would be very interesting to see how his system, once applied on the course, can produce consistent draws or fades on command. I tried this system and I found, to a degree, that it does work - contact for the most part is much better - BUT, there is the question of ball flight/direction. I found I have some really bad pushes and some hooks/draws that creep up from time to time. I've always been a 'closed shoulder' player (from Shawn Clement) - so it was easy to adjust to JV's swing.

Your set up and the torque created from still weight initiates your downswing. Don’t actively initiate the downswing during the swing, you won’t be consistent doing that. Your lower body stays still in the backswing.

If it’s a straight block your path is to the right and your face is square to that path, assuming you are a righty. Tinker with a more closed face and see if your ball turns over. Open it and see if it cuts. Do what Jim says. He’s the real deal
@charlierobinson8975
@charlierobinson8975 4 года назад
The game changer for me was to align the top of the clubface to the intended direction. If you have the correct club face position you will achieve the tight draw desired. Too closed will hook, too open will go right.

@jimvenetosgolf
@jimvenetosgolf 4 года назад
Howard Gadd you are looking in the wrong place to understand how to control a golf club. You’re looking at the movements which are the consequences of some other source which is the position of the body. If you’re concerned with releasing the club you will never become a good golfer. But, if you simply apply the technique I teach then your club will do exactly what it’s supposed to do throughout the swing. It’s cause-and-effect… You’re looking at the effect and I’m teaching you the cause
