After I had swapped a new 5.7 engine on my Charger RT 07 Last february with few minor modes - 87mm throttle body - Camshaft COMPCAM XFI 208/212 hydraulic - Eagle 5.7 Intake manifold - Exhaust shorty headers from EFI - e85 tune. - 525cc injectors - Performance exhaust line. And I released the speed limit from the manufacture. 2 months later I got a major link on the transmission (bad luck). I sent the full transmission to have it entirely rebuilt. I got it installed and for 2 months no problem at all. Then 2 months later, I went WOT for short distance just to enjoy the sound of my CHARGER RT 07 with the new exhaust line. The engine went into safe mode and got the icone light up (it seems like it does it randomly depending on how crazy I drive, since my story occured twice). But when I look at the code through the menu of the car, it says it is all good. And few minutes later, back on the road. Eventually the engine icone goes away (once, right away and the second time 2 days later). Yesterday, I plugged my HP Tuners and to figure out what is going on. I got two codes; P0730 along P0219 (Engine Overspped Condition). I will defenetetly drive smoother until I get this issue fixed ( I dont want to mess up anything at this point since I put already a lot of money to have my transmission fixed and the rebuilt engine from the States to FRANCE). We have a 2012 ram 1500 with the 6 speed automatic transmission , it was my Father in Law's truck , we baught it from my wife's step Mom after he passed away in April of this year . We didn't know their was an issue with the transmission , my wife had been driving it, wasn't till I used it to go pick up our daughter that I noticed it wasn't shifting, other than once , doesn't feel like a slip and no noises like that , I checked the codes and It showed several, P0731 , P0933 as well as a couple others I can't clear the permanent codes , I did replace the shift solenoid and had the TCM relearned but it didn't change anything , so it has new solenoid , filters and fluid , I'm wondering if it's just electrical, like a bad TCM or possibly the speed sensors , but wish I knew specifics so I'm not throwing money we don't have to narrow it down.
I'm getting a hard shift from 1st straight to 3 Rd gear when the vehicle is first driving. When it warms up it's fine. Code pulled a 0733. Odd thing is that it's the second gear that it is having trouble shifting to, not the third.
Hello, I have codes P0733, P0735, P0868, P0944, P1790 and P083B. Some time ago i noticed when slowing down that it’s not shifting properly between 5th and 4th gear and especially between gear 3 and 2. It feels like it stays in higher gear and when shifting 3rd and 2nd gear there is a sound something similar when you drive manual transmition and car is in 3rd gear but you don’t give it gas pedal, like it’s chocking. Few days ago, car stopped reacting to gas pedal in driving. I turned the car off and on again I was able to drive in first two gears but as soon as it reaches 3rd RPMs are going, but it seems like there is no gas/acceleration. I changed the filter and the oil it works now, I am able to drive it but still have problem with downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear, there is that sound again that reminds on not hitting the clutch while driving manual transmition. Please help.
@illness93 if you're planning on just cleaning and changing the fluid, filter, or the solenoids just use brake cleaner to clean everything off before reinstalling
