As a Canadian I am very confused why does the ATF have to be informed, or why do they even care that someone is putting an extended magazine/tube in their automatic shotgun? What happened to the 2nd amendment? Why are high capacity magazines & bump stocks banned just because a couple of single, isolated individuals decided to shoot up a crowd of people? Unfortunately, the independent shooters would have shot up the crowds of people regardless of having a high capacity magazine or a bump stock. The masses should not have to suffer the consequences of the mistakes of a select few maniacs. That isn't fair. This is for foreign guns. The Benelli M4 is Italian made. We have very strict control of who imports what firearms into the United States. The line has to be drawn somewhere and that line is 922r compliance.
Time to repeal the existing ATF and create a new ATF whose mission will be to protect, defend, and expand US citizen gun rights both domestic and abroad.
Oh come on these laws are meant to be ignored by law-abiding citizens. These laws are for foreign manufacturers.. Nobody has been charged with 922r compliance hasn't committed other serious felonies or misdemeanors... just upgrade your gun and made in the USA is always a priority but why count parts... you're not gonna go to jail nine out of 10 cops don't know what 922R is
screw 922r it doesn't matter. you gotta look at the classifications of assault weapons. with that pistol grip you cannot have a mag tube extending 5 shots. because you have a pistol grip you cannot have a collapsable stock. if you want more rounds you need the traditional stock.
So if I want the full length tube and the c-stock, then I need to have three more parts? The tube (1) Trigger assembly (3) and the c-stock from Benelli. Is this legal? You guys really should put two videos together.. Two videos is confusing..
It is worth noting that 18 U.S.C. section 922(r) has no corresponding penalty statute. In short, it is illegal under the law but it would appear that the only penalty BATF can impose is confiscating the offending weapon. This law was designed for weapons importers not I individual citizens.
OK, maybe I'm dense but if the Law states: "(a) No person shall assemble a semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun using more than 10 of the imported parts listed in paragraph (c) of this section if the assembled firearm is prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes." And if, as your FAQ states, as the shotgun is sold it already come with 13 of these parts, then: Isn't the shotgun as imported and sold, already illegal? If it has more than 10 of the 20 parts, how can it be sold in the U.S.?
Alex V I agree 100%, This means the gun is illegal as sold. After reading and listening to all the 922R stuff, this has to apply to the building of, not purchasing already built and/or modifying an already legally imported rifle or shotgun.
I am trying to get the underbarrel loose. I can't break it loose by hand... is there something I'm missing or over looking? Could you do a video of changing the 5 shell barrel to a 7 shell barrel?
I'm curious to know if the full-size magazine tube will fit one of the Turkish clones (Panzer Arms, MAC, etc...). I assume that adding the full-size tube, plus the trigger kit (maybe the aluminum trigger housing) to remain within 922(r) compliance.
I'm in cali. I was searching m4 videos and came across this one. I was simply going to buy an m4 and get an extension tube. I had no idea there was regulations we had to follow.
The laws you have to contend with are federal laws, so they apply everywhere in the US. As for California, the only law I'm familiar with that concerns this gun is the law prohibiting collapsible stocks. I can't recall if that is a felony or a misdemeanor in California, but I think it's a felony.
I want to cerakote the Ti Magazine tube, would it be better to coat a raw Ti tube, or the one that is already coated that you have offered and just coat over top of it?
Ithaca, Remington and Mossberg make pump shotguns with 7/8 round magazines. I wonder why there is an issue with semi-automatic shotguns? Perhaps it's domestic production vs. foreign issue?

If you use the gun in a way that would get their attention (ie self defense) then they will for sure inspect it during the investigation. Same thing happened to the woman who used a 30 round mag in California in self defense and the judge temporarily halted the restriction which is why millions of STANDARD capacity mags were shipped to California within one week. Had he not done that, she would have been guilty of using an unregistered "assault weapon" even though it was self defense and that's a life altering felony (I think like 25 years minimum or something). So if you're just going to the range after just changing out the tube, you're fine. If you blow away an intruder and are not 922r compliant, you're in a lot of trouble.
I suppose it would be acceptable, reasonable, and understandable for us to NOT inform the public of laws that exist so they can make an informed decision about whether or not they want to comply, and perhaps you think we should cover up that information and hide it, or maybe even encourage people to thumb their nose at the law.

If I replace the oem 5 round tube with a oem 7 round benelli tube that is new to the gun still considered oringal ? I’d like to use the oem 7 tube, replace the grip, and follower. Will a new spring be needed for the 7tube? Will this be a compliant set up, thank you.
No idea. I never sound alarm bells about this law, but it is a felony. And if you're made to be the example, you'll pay 3x more for the first hour in defense counsel's chair than you would simply making the gun compliant.
Who do you recommend that can do a titanium coating? I have an H20 model on the way and the recoil spring tube is black and I'd like it to be titanium to match.
Even with a field stock unless the shotgun came already preloaded with everything including the 7 + 1 mag tube you would have to be compliant in order to do so
