Whoa!!! Just on time for me to add this to my breathwork routine. Now, at the age of seventy, I've had pneumonia over twenty times. Beginning in the late 80's I started using breathwork routines that would increase my lung capacity. It went well for many years, but for the last six months, I'm noticing that my right upper body is somewhat collapsing. I exercise and maintain fitness and have a breathing practice, but my right side is showing signs of deforming from what I presume to be lack of a sturdy lung or a loss of lung integrity. This simple breathwork exercise is headed straight to the top of my daily routine. For my situation, I can see that this breathwork should be used at least three times per day. As a previous commentor to this video wrote, "Mike Chang to save the day.... 😊"
@@Methy_WatchesI had Covid pneumonia and was hospitalized for a week three years ago and suffered significant lung damage. I now have a daily routine of breath work. Which if I miss for a few days I suffer severe breathlessness and lose the ability to fully yawn. 1. Use a spirometer device similar to the one shown 3-5 times a day, 10 repetitions each time, while holding the indicator at the best level. 2. Deep breath holds once a day. Take in as much air as possible and hold it as long as possible, exhale, recover then repeat two more times. I have to lay on the floor for this one. 3. I start off each day with diaphragmatic breathing, you can look it up on RU-vid, but it is basically belly breathing, visualizing the airs path from the nose fillings the lungs completely the leaving your body, being aware and identifying the entire path of the inhalation exhalation process. 4, I also buy balloons and will blow a few of them up a couple times a week. As a side, if you are asking for health reasons, I also drink a tea called Breath Easy that works for me.
On the day is ok, just be aware sometimes you can feel out of breath after a few minutes of these exercises so give yourself 10 minutes to recuperate before you start your next cardio exercise.
When the oxygen starts to get to the top of my lungs it makes me cough. So then I can't hold the breath any longer or inhale any further. Ideas, solutions?
My FEV1 is below normal (1.5) after PFTs test so my doctor put me in mediacation Inhaler for 3 moths and then repeat the test. is this exercice help me to improve my FEV1 ?
I make a fist then bring it to my mouth and inhale. I smoked tobacco and weed and quit. Every now and again I weez, so I make a fist and make a chamber bring my thumb and index finger to my mouth and inhale. I do it 2-3 times. It works.
