100% agree!! That’s why all natural healing gurus or doctors are stressing on lifestyle changes, yoga and meditation etc etc!! There is definitely link between your gut health and stress levels! I was super healthy a vegan who never had processed oily food not even a soft drink in last 5 years.. whose reports were fantastic every year!! And doctor used to say I am the healthiest version that they know of. I still got sick!! But here in India my doctors asked me to tell them everything what happened, what was my routine etc etc before I got sick!!

Very interesting stuff. All good information but we should be also talking about the actual root cause of this and not stick around the surface. I’ve approached my “condition” with scientific methods for 15 years, the only length I haven’t gone is setting up a lab at home to test everything. When we say processed food, we often think of junk food and move on, but we should pause and talk about the processing of the very meats we’re being told are healthy to eat, the veggies, the fruits. EVERYTHING undergoes certain USDA or FSIS or other 3 letter org process requirements where they introduce lab made acids like citric acid, lactic acid, etc. that are made of black mold and other compounds. I eat exceptionally clean, yet I still can’t catch a break. They don’t even require labeling them on the ingredient list (happy to share info on that). What I’ve realized is that my autoimmune flares when I consume these. It is extremely difficult to stay away from them unless you grow your own food. Instead of fine tuning the diet to a miserable experience, we should be fighting to take back our food control rights and kill these organizations that ruin our food and cause so much harm. These organizations poison our food then call us disordered. I don’t have a “disorder” when I travel to a 3rd world country where they haven’t managed to ruin the food yet. It’s like filling your gas tank with water then wonder why the engine isn’t running. Time to burn it all down!

@@mysticm1543 I recently went to Armenia for 2 months and ate local foods, including from restaurants. I avoided sauces and packaged stuff. Although I did eat some canned stuff that were labeled properly. There they require the label to have the commercial chemical code (E220, E500, etc.) and not just vague names that could be mistaken for organic citric acid let's say. I have celiac disease here in US, which is miserable and feels like I can't eat anything. Over there I ate everything, and right before coming back I collected some courage and got some wheat from a local farm, milled it and made bread. While my bread making wasn't great, my digestion was perfectly fine. If the flour here even touches my food I have weeks long issues until my body figures out how to deal with this poison that I introduced to it.

And perhaps if your family is lucky, you might be successful in healing the gut, such that these tight junctions close - sufficiently to permit nuts back into the diet. (I have heard from many scientists that gluten will induce permeability in ALL guts - very sad. But perhaps one could have a slice of bread here and there, once gut is healed, and if there is no autoimmunity going on. Wish that were me . . )

I've proudly been eating Paleo since 2009 (85%) and 100% Paleo since 2014! Not only has it reversed severe Crohn's disease, it has decreased my many other autoimmune symptoms, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. My son ate about 80-85% Paleo (he still ate rice and certain beans) and it had a dramatically positive effect on his mood, behavior, acne, and overall health.

Interesting interview. I really liked the focus on how a diet for different conditions really depends on the person's health issues. In reality we are all different and need different macronutrients to be healthy. Than you Dr. Berg for always educating us and providing us with valuable information. Thank you for your very informative and interesting interview. I especially liked the confirmation on eating too much protein, stimulating insulin and not getting into keto. I figured this out when I stopped losing weight and blamed my thyroid. Correction made😄 I'm looking for some comparison diets, listing protein source and maxim daily amount consumption. If you can recommend any books, links or if you have a UTube on these issues, would be very beneficial. Thanks again.

This interview is loaded with very important information. Thank you for talking with a neurobiologist and sharing the recording with everyone. I have heard bad things about the nightshade family of vegetables before. I will not be having any again. Now to research lectins so I don't eat them again. Good food equals better health. I must do better.

Theres a big difference to what a person blood type is, Like O+ should not take St. Johns wort. O negs can handle different toxins. My dad and 2 brothers are Negs so I know it makes a big difference. What's good for the goose is Not good for all ganders.

First of all I really sincerely want to thank you for the wealth of information you provide AWAY from keto. Keto was wonderful for me but it severely sped up some gut problems that I didn’t fully understand so it’s wonderful that you have advice on healing the gut! Some specific advice on how to reintroduce fibre would be fabulous! Also just curious did you put a filter on your voice ?🤔

Hi Dr Berg, Thankyou for educating us! For years I've suffered with various autoimmunity symptoms, and both specialist's & my own long standing Dr, who I respect and trust, never enquire as to what my diet is?? Western medicine treats symptoms with prescription Chemicals, when scientific logic surely points to treating the cause of the symptom. I have a background in the medical arena, and have had to educate myself to heal myself. Finding you only recently, is wonderfully informative. You've inspired me to learn more re: the science of nutrition and impacts on individual health. So very grateful to you!

I was looking through my seed and garden catalog for future planting, while listening to this wonderful presentation, when the thought occurred to me; Can you do a video on what we “can” grow and eat... like rutabagas and turnips. Are there melons and squash or pumpkins that would fit a KETO style diet?
