Alcaraz is an incredible talent and a future all time great, if not already. That said, any unbiased tennis fan watching can see this result was more about Djokovic’s performance than Alcaraz. Alcaraz played no better than last Wimbledon final, the difference was that Djokovic this match had no business even being in the final. In this game alone, look at the basic rally balls and volleys Djokovic was missing. Combine that with the fact his movement was poor, this match could only end one way. Father Time is undefeated and it’s time for Novak to step aside for the young guns to take over.
@ROYAL_REBEL
@ROYAL_REBEL Месяц назад
@@ryanjones7712 Hahahaha. He played better than last year's Wimbledon. His serve has improved MASSIVELY; he doesn't chase balls like he used to. His movements are cleaner and more refined. In fact, he didn't give his 100% during the match. WHY? Because Djokovic is declining due to age, Sinner is the only tennis player that could beat him. Alcaraz & Sinner push each other to be better players and tennis benefits from this rivalry. Although Sinner has lost twice to Alcaraz this year, the Italian will find ways to beat him, especially on fast courts. These two are the best players in the world right now.
@ryanjones7712
@ryanjones7712 Месяц назад
@@ROYAL_REBELLast year, he rolled through everyone mostly until the final. This year, he got taken to 5 sets by Tiafoe 🤣 and then lost a set to Medvedev and others. He was not that great this tournament, compared to last year. The main difference in the final was that his opponent put up 0 resistance. Yes, Alcaraz serve improved but he only served 59% first serve. His serve was overrated because Novak’s returning was terrible. Just look at him! Novak had no business even being there, it was a terrible performance. Maybe it was his knee or maybe he just declined so much in the past months, but this Novak looked hopeless out there. Last year’s Novak would’ve taken this to 5, easily. It’s easy to look good when your opponent can barely even move properly

It definitely changed the direction of the match. The long game tired him out and also a mental blow after all that break-point saving effort, as it put him behind the eight-ball for the rest of the match. He didn't recover after this game and Carlos just got more and more free and clear and patient with his gameplan. i have a feeling Carlos wanted to send a message like he did in set 3 last year. there is no guarantee he would have broken, but people don't talk about his return of serve enough. he reads Novak's serve extremely well. even in the ATP finals last year, he was locked in on return initially but not used to the speed and bounce. he will improve even more indoors. just a matter of time.

That is a fantastic point about Carlos' return of serve in this Final! Carlos actually out-returned the greatest returner in Tennis history!! 😙😙 The BBC stats at one point showed Carlos scoring 9.1 out of 10 in returning Nole's serve!!..This is unprecedented by an opponent at Wimbledon against him....certainly to my memory anyway?? The scariest thing about Carlitos, is that at 21 he is already way better & more complete than Nole; Roger, and Rafa were at the exact same age!!! 😱😱😱 His coach Juan Carlos Ferrero said this time last year that we had only seen Carlos at 60% of his potential!!! Maybe we saw Carlos at 70 - 75% in this Final...Imagine if Carlos was to reach 95%!!!!! 😱😱😱😱 Food for MIND-BLOWING thought huh!!!

This should put a firm end to Djok's boring as fk domination of a decade. Under his influence, young gen, like Agut, probably didn't even know that they are allowed to apparoch the net. Alacaraz's net game is close to Federer already at this age, and like hell the net is gonna favor Djok
