I've spent two evenings to research the history of this place and locate ruins of abandoned buildings on modern map of Pennsylvania (Schuylkill County). Back to 1920s, it was an extensive coal mining site (known as the *** colliery), scattered with a few dozens of buildings and structures. The most significant of them, I believe, were the power plant and slope mine.
The power plant, partially demolished now, still is a very impressive structure hidden in greenery. Built in 1923, the plant produced electricity for the local mines and a railroad branch. As well, it provided steam heat for colliery buildings (offices, wash house, lamp house, shops).
The place is pretty secluded and overgrown, but today I decided to hike to there and film everything. However, the abandoned plant appeared much cooler, than my modest expectations.
