I love MJT guitar. A fella here in Canada ordered all the parts and assembled and set it up himself as a hobby. Couldn't be happier.

Lovely guitar. Didn’t expect that ending, but thank you for that. Let her voice ring with every strum. I created a Partscaster myself a few years ago. Sourced the body through MJT as well through their eBay store, where they release multiple ready to ship pieces. Highly recommend it. I sourced my neck from Musikraft, which I then sent to MJT for aging. I was on the Fender Custom search for awhile until I found out about partscasters. My guitar cost a total of $1500 to make, with professional setup and everything. If anyone would like to know how I sourced everything let me know! Thank you for your great videos. I’m a style/music fan myself.

Thank you! That's awesome that you got an MJT too. I forgot that they sell bodies on ebay. How did your guitar turn out? Strat or tele? Which pickups did you go with? I love hearing these stories--I'm a sucker for any Rig Rundown. 🙂

@@BeastMadeReviews It’s a Telecaster build, turned out amazing. Vintage feel and sound. I went with Vintage Tele pickups from Porter Pickups, Glendale hardware, and RS Guitarworks electronics. I chose all raw finishes, it’s aged beautifully. I went deep haha. But it was all worth it.

Visitation dreams like that are actually quite common in the literature. I had one myself that involved both my deceased grandfather and grandmother. There was never any verbal communication, but their support of me was very clear. Definitely would've been nice to get a better nut in the kit though! 🌰

Those are Waverly strap buttons. I think that's an exclusive StewMac brand, so you can find them cheapest there (but with very high shipping). They also have them on Amazon, but the price is a lot higher.

wild that a parts-guitar builder markets themselves as a brand now with such markups. The absurd age of capitalism is really interesting.

I think that's a pessimistic way of looking at a guitar maker that sells their products for much less than their competition.
@ashmcg7873
@ashmcg7873 Год назад
@@BeastMadeReviews "the competition" actually sells guitars for far less. True luthiers have similar/same options for near cost to the "parts-companies" guitars. Do a breakdown of accounting, and these companies labour cost is over $75 an hour to assemble something, nothing else. That's greater than bubble economy Gm assemblers; That is factually absurd and not worth the labor. If you incorrectly believe it is not absurd, then you can simply look back at history and see how private investment drastically changed after gm's pay structure became public knowledge. this is also an easier assembly job than death trap cars, so.... even less skilled.

@@ashmcg7873 “True luthiers” So if someone ain’t hand carving a Strat from a solid block of wood, they’re not a luthier? “Assemble something, nothing else” Did you miss the part where MJT specialises in guitar finishes? Here’s the process: 1. They order the body/neck from Wildwood to your specifications. 2. They finish the guitar exactly as requested. 3. It then goes into the curing stage. 4. They do any relicing a customer might want. 5. The guitar is assembled (if necessary) 6. The parts/guitar is ready to be shipped. You’re literally complaining that Wildwood uses a CNC, and MJT orders the body from them. Completely ignoring the fact that Wildwood has a great stock of amazing wood, and work with some of the biggest brands/manufacturers. As far as I see it, and most other people too from what I can tell, MJT provide a service that cost’s 1/5 of the price for a Fender Custom Shop, with equal, if not better, quality.

Since I didn't mention the final price, I'm not sure where you're getting your comparisons. I haven't seen any luthiers who sell guitars for this price--unless they are still learning. As for the competition, I spec'd out what I wanted with a "parts" company and it was the same if not more than what I paid. The guitar I got is one of the finest guitars I've ever played. And to get that experience at a price that is far less than a custom guitar is amazing. If you disagree, go buy a guitar from an inexperienced luthier. It's your money.
