@@nemember2614they were once weapons now only used in fencing. And even though they aren’t made to kill anymore, Without protection they could, at the very worst, die to an unfortunate strike.
@@ItzIngenious man it is epee rule. you have 1 tempo (tempo - time for 1 action) for an injection after the enemy has come behind you. (i am epee fencer)
Or just shine into mainstream media overall. I'm always seeing other sports like swimming, gymnastics, figure skating, soccer, American football and the like make their appearances to non-athletes in general media, but fencing is always in the dark
@@d3l1c10uspancak3s you’re gonna poke him? Oh no! How about you guys actually sword fight, with say a great sword? Or maybe even just a rapier, but without the “one poke” rule. Or respect the man’s opinion, that the sport is bullshit because of said rule
@@rustybolt1733 The way our fencing actually ties back to real fencing schools in Europe from several centuries, when HEMA is just made up by people who THINK they're doing what swordfighting was like 💀you can have an opinion about what you prefer doing but open a history book loser. Of course you think "real" swordfighting is what just looks cooler to you. And did you seriously like your own comment?
What I find most impressive her is that it rly was useful to make it this way. He could have just attacked from under his left arm, but he knew the other was facing his back and would attack first. So he tried a desperate leap that would allow to escape the hit.
