Good call on both tracks! Was thinking about Royal Blood for 2000’s alternative for them but too edgy (esp. the vids). Black Keys would be a much better fit! Lonely Boy w/ vid is 🔥
The radio man at the start of the video was Steve Jones, the lead guitarist for the legendary Sex Pistols. In his later years he hosted a 2 hour radio show called Jonesy's Jukebox on KROQ, a wonderful alternative rock station in Los Angeles. I listened to it every day when I lived out there. 2 hours of great music (some live) and interviews with some major musicians. Love The Arctic Monkeys.
Man that was a nice little flashback. I'd never seen this video, and I didn't realize that Jonesy was in it. I remember when Ralph Garman used to do an impression of him on the Kevin & Bean show on KROQ, lol. Jonesy actually thought it was hilarious.
WOW. This Grandma is taken aback. This group is new to me. I am getting a little bit of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana mixed with my old Woodstock trip. The drum riffs and the change overs are awesome. Thanks for the introduction. I need to take a dive into this tripping group. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
This band definitely has the coolness factor. I want to be jealous, but their music is really good. Some earlier stuff, "Teddy Picker", "Florescent Adolescent", "Brainstorm".
Oh my lord please do some more Arctic Monkeys, they are one of the greatest bands out there! I'd suggest checking out their song Arabella next. Peace ✌

TONYA EVANS? You're really lucky to be able to work with her, ever since she helped my friend establish a stable inco`me, I've been trying to reach out to her!
One of the things I have learned in my 30 years is not to completely move in or move out of investments, if you have quality assets. It is better to trim, and then hold some cash for buying opportunities. That way if things drop, you have some funds to buy in. If things go up, you still have a solid chunk invested. I wish I could take back the times I bought or sold everything in a short period of time. All thanks to Tonya
Loved this reaction guys. Here's some more Arctic monkeys songs I would love to see yall do on this channel: When the sun goes down Arabella 505 Fluorescent adolescent From ritz to rubble Leave before the lights come on Balaclava Do me a favour A certain romance The view from the afternoon
This is currently my favorite band-this album came out 10ish years ago and it’s still a banger. Check out Arabella and Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High
Hi rob squad! As the comments say you should check Why’d you call me when youre high? But also old school Arctic Monkeys are gems like 505 (my fav song of them) I bet you look good on the dance floor, Fluorescent adolescent 🙏🏼
Alex Turner is the front man. And sexy is often used to describe his delivery. Brianstorm, I bet you look good on the dance floor, Arabella, Why’d you only call me when you’re high? are some other fantastic offerings from them.
If you want to see the Artic Monkeys at Glastonbury live the drummer really kicks off on Brianstorm ( yes spelling is correct ) headlining a major festival at twenty years old fabulous. You won't regret it .
Can't wait for you to delve deeper into this rabbit hole. Been a fan ever since the first album. Saw them live in 2011 and again last year. They're a band that changes their sound every album or two, still relevant, always great.
Absolutely top band. Saw them live last summer and they played Four out of Five and I'd forgotten how much of a tune it was. Constantly on repeat on my playlist.
Jay&Amber, for female Friday: Jackie DeShannon - "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" or "What the World Needs Now Is Love"!! ! She’s one of the early singer-songwriters. She co-wrote Put a Little Love in Your Heart. She wrote the music for her original “Bette Davis Eyes”, lyrics by Donna Weiss. You reacted to Kim Carnes cover of Bette Davis Eyes, a worldwide hit/record of the year, w/a very different arrangement.
Great song that I believe The Searchers had a hit with. I don't believe they've reacted to Jackie at all, and she would be perfect for Female Friday.@Tokyoconvertible87
It would be fun to do a double reaction of "Florescent Adolescent" and then "There'd Better Be A Mirrorball" would be awesome to see how their sound progressed through their first album to their most recent one.
Their first album back in 2007 was spectacular. I was 20 at the time & it absolutely defined my early 20s. Finally saw them live in Paris in 2022, they were great.
I really like this. Love his voice. I've been looking for some great rock that's not classic rock and it's been brutal. But this is really good. I've noticed I need a compelling voice in a rock band. The number of rock singers that just drone on is endless. This guy has personality. Who is he?
When they released their 1st album, the oldest member was 19 years old. I think some were as young as 15. It reached #1 on UK charts. First time a band a band accomplished that with their debut since Oasis many years before. The Arctic Monkeys were instant legends that exploded in popularity right from the very start. Even at teenagers, they were on a whole nuther level.
A pretty amazing band indeed. You shoudl give their first hit 'I Bet You Loog On The Dance Floor' a listen, to hear them really rock, garage punk style ;-)
You really must do the two iconic songs that shot them to fame.....I Bet That You Look Good on The Dance Floor, and When The Sun Goes Down. These two tracks from this new band in 2006 were so fresh and different, they were instant hits. Fast, raw, punky
I love the Sheffield accent. It’s hot. I’m excited to be going to see Phil Oakey and the Human League this Christmas in Leeds, I’ve been wanting to see them for so long.
THAT was a reaction! Loved it! The AM album is wall to wall bangers. The last track cracks me up, Alex Turner immortalises punk poet John Cooper Clarke's I Wanna Be Yours as a tribute to him. I think Alex said they studied the poem at school.
alex turner is lead singer, matt helders is the drummer, jamie cook is the guitarist and nick o'malley is the bassist! theyre so amazing. you guys should check out the view from the afternoon!
Arctic Monkeys, the band that made it big from my village. Check out their first ever single called “Fake Tales Of San Francisco” which wasn’t a hit as only very limited copies were pressed of the record but it got them noticed.
Arctic Monkeys' singer and songwriter is hugely inspired by Salford beat poet John Cooper-Clarke: listen to him recite just one of his poems and you'll hear the influence clearly. IIRC they've even worked directly with him before now. There's lots of JCC videos on RU-vid, but fair warning: this is one time where I WOULD advise one of you to pre-watch the video because some of his poems are VERY Not Safe For Work. Or Home. Or Kids. Or Elderly Aunties. Or Easily Spooked Pets. Come to think of it, you might was to move Particularly Sensitive House Plants out of the room too...😈
the two songs you have listened too are the first two songs on their most famous album "AM", each album has its own vibe and from how much you guys like it i genuinely recommend just listening to the whole album in one, youd love it.
I was JUST re watching your Do I Wanna Know reaction and wondering how on earth you haven’t done more Arctic Monkeys. One of the best bands around. Please check out Crying Lightning and Cornerstone
Now you HAVE to follow this with The Last Shadow Puppets “Standing Next to Me,” “The Age of the Understatement” and “My Mistakes Were Made for You”! Please please please!
So check out ‘Arabella’ from the same album (both the tracks you heard are from their 5th album ‘AM’. Then track back to the first album which was an insane start to their careers. Kicking off with ‘The view from the afternoon’, their killer first single ‘I bet that you look good on the dance floor’ to the closer ‘A certain Romance’ such a great album.
